Almond. Snickers. So. Good.
I might be forced to have another lol.1 -
Never could understand what they mean by "clean eating." I almost never drag my deli meat thru the mud. Lol
I hate cooking, and hubby's idea of cooking is frying eggs (which he does extremely well). It's all about convenience foods for me - basically anything I feel like, as long as it fits in my daily calorie allotment. Lost 99.2 lbs that way, so must be doing something right.
Stay dirty, my friends!13 -
I think I'm going to have to find these - http://www.theimpulsivebuy.com/wordpress/2017/01/31/spotted-on-shelves-ben-jerrys-pint-slices-ice-cream-bars/ . Looks like a good way to get good ice cream with easy portion control.2

Finally tried Halo Top! I am a convert. I was so skeptical, and I am still a little in shock about how good it was.
I started with the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. I still have the Birthday Cake, Oatmeal Cookie and Mint Chip in my freezer! So happy to find an ice cream alternative where I can eat a whole pint!
I looked for months for Halo Top, when I finally found it I did not buy it because I had Breyer's Rocky Road at home in the freezer. Maybe by the time I go to that particular store I will have eaten all my Rocky Road1 -
I just saw a commercial for a baby big mac. I am thinking i have to try that soon.1

I feel like this post is the support group I have been seeking. For too long I have been surrounded by people asking how on earth I lost 50lbs while they watch me dip a kit kat in peanut butter. But you all get me. You get me.15

Discovered I don't have to give up hot apple cider at Timothy's! Met friends for "coffee" tonight (none of us actually drink coffee; they had whipped hot chocolate) and realized a medium hot cider was 220 calories. And worth every one of them!3

I eat clean and healthy sometimes along with whatever else I'm in the mood for. I log everything to keep track, good or "bad". This is a life change so all foods should fit in someway.2

Has anyone tried Pip and nut cinnamon and honey cashew butter?
I had a fight last night with one arm trying to force feed me and the other arm trying to wrestle the spoon from my grasp. Looked like some thing out of an old comedy mime film5 -

Imagine all the views on Youtube... you'd have been a millionaire in 5 minutes flat3 -
Glad you posted this I was feeling a bit intimated by all the people who have changed to clean eating. I try to eat non processed foods like use fresh fruits and veggies and lean meats but sometimes I'm in the mood for pizza or a burger. I just try and stay within my calorie limit and maybe take an extra walk. P.S. I love chocolate6

I love this post! I mix in the whole foods, along with the not so whole foods....like pizza, candy, cookies, ice cream and such! Like everyone else in this thread, as long as it fits my calories, I'm good and have a very, very HAPPY tummy, lol!

Gonna be a tough day. Sashimi for lunch and beer and pizza for dinner. Might even exceed my calories for the day (I hurt my foot and can't walk or run right now, so limited extra calories).
But you guys are unfair listing off all the stuf only sold in the US> I REALLY want to try that ice cream.
Only thing mentioned I can't stand are the GS cookies. Bleh.7 -
Cheesy mash and baked beans for dinner (with a few veg hiding underneath) - heaven2

Wish me luck... when I was putting the ingredients into the recipe tracker, it was coming in at over 800 calories per portion before I finished, and while I want to indulge, that seemed like too big an indulgence... So I switched out the regular noodles for shiratakis and I'm hoping it'll still be good. (It has 1/2 cup peanut butter for 4 portions. It's gotta be, right?)
I actually am considering trying those low or 0 calorie noodles soon! I already have them in my cart on Amazon Fresh.
The stirfry came out great! One thing I did read was that if you are using them to sub for Asian noodles, they work well, but that their texture is "off" for Italian pasta. I've never tried subbing them for spaghetti, so I can't be sure of that, but as a replacement for rice sticks, they're fine.
soooo glad to hear it! i've tried the shiritaki in mac and cheese and it wasn't what i was looking for, but they were on sale so i've got two more bags! can i ask for your recipe?
i won't be needing it for a while though since i made a GINORMOUS veggie lasagna last night. it was 500 calories per serving when it went into the oven at 10 servings, but it came out of the oven and i was so hungry that now it's 600 calories for each of 8 servings. 8 giant servings. this thing is loaded! i did sub tofu for half of the ricotta (because protein) and filled it with mushrooms, eggplant, yellow squash, zucchini, mixed spinach into the ricotta mix, added some veggie meatballs, tofurkey italian sausage and of course CHEESE. it barely fit in the pan. also had chopped salad for breakfast because *kitten* imposing meal rules. lol.
having tomato soup and a tuna melt for dinner after weights at the gym and i would have been 100 cals under for the day (pre-exercise) except i ate a subway cookie. spoiler: subway cookies are the debil.5 -
Sure! I used 4 bags of Shirataki noodles (792 g total, but I didn't throw them on a scale once I drained them, so I'm not positive whether that includes the water they were packed in or just the net noodle weight).
Recipe also calls for:
2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp canola or grapeseed oil
2 green onions, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
2 tsp sugar
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp Asian chili paste
1/3 c hot water
1 small red onion in 1/4" slices
1 small red bell peper in 1/4" slices
2 tbsp minced cilantro
2 tbsp chopped unsalted roasted peanuts.
Prepare the shirataki as directed on the package (drain in colander, boil 1-2 minutes, drain and put in dry skillet on medium until dried.) Toss with sesame oil.
In large saucepan, heat 1 tbsp of canola oil over medium. Add green onions, garlic, and ginger and cook, stirring 1 minute. Add sugar, peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, and water. Stir until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Add additional hot water if you want a thinner consistency.
Heat remaining tbsp canola oil over medium heat in large skillet. Add onion and bell pepper and cook, stirring until softened, about 5 minutes. Add noodles and sauce and toss to coat. Serve garnished with cilantro and peanuts.

I'm not generally a fan of white chocolate, but I love their white chocolate macadamia cookies! I haven't had one since I started counting calories... whenever we go in there to grab lunch I have to avert my eyes from the cookie cabinet!

I don't eat perfect. today for lunch, butter chicken. But I lost 40 lbs by just sticking to PROPER portion sizes (yup, i bloody weighed my food). It's nice to know I'm not the only one NOT forbidding myself ice cream... seriously6
-
Is this my tribe?! Oh bless you all! I like healthy food but the phrase "clean eating" boils my blood. I've lost 26 lbs with 4 more to go and this morning I blended a brownie into my chocolate protein shake12
