OP, the only bad foods are:
- burnt food
- Food you don't like
- Food that causes you to overeat your goal constantly while ignoring nutrition
- Rotting/spoilt food
- Food you're intolerant or allergic to
- Freezer burnt food
- Digested food
- Food that has been tampered with by your enemies or friend playing practical jokes
See where I'm going with this?
Drop the whole good foods/ bad foods mantra....this isn't good cop/bad cop, it's weight loss/maintaining/gaining.
Calories are KING, but pay attention to nutrition.Anything processed is bad for you, however delicious... lol If you're trying to go low carb then stay away from most fruit... Stick to berries...
Please stop posting misinformation in almost every post you participate in....7 -
Red delicious haters, maybe you mean Macintosh apples? Macintosh apples are sad.0

Yes! They're my favourite
Apples are bad.... When they're floury. Or bruised. Or when you take a bite and realise you've eaten half a worm.1 -

Well, ya... the whole worm has more protein.4 -

Well, sure, a doctor would say that. Doctors need patients to pay for their offices, malpractice insurance, and student loans.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.0 -

Oh, no. Those are destined for cider, hard cider even.1 -
Give me a good Empire, McIntosh, Jonamac. I like the tart flavor in most of our NY apple breeds. Red delicious tastes so bland to me in comparison to the strong sweet/tart combination in an Empire. (I believe Empire is a cross of red delicious and McIntosh. It is what I usually buy.. Really cheap here).0

What is wrong with you people?! Honeycrisp is clearly the best apple.6

I went and made myself a snack of sliced apple and PB2 while reading this, I'm bad. Hahaha3

I have two words for this: fake news. Apples are definitely way healthier than donuts1

Honeycrisp for those few glorious weeks of perfection or Pink Lady otherwise. Fuji or Jazz if needs must. All other apples are sad.2 -
Depends which one you eat first.... If you eat the apple second, it might put you over your calories, so that would be bad. Should have just had the doughnut.5 -

Definitely agree on Honeycrisp, but Granny Smith kicks some kitten and takes names too. Feisty!1 -
There is no love here for the Cortland???? You people are missing out on the best ever pie, cobbler, jelly, and applesauce apple there is. To eat fresh and raw: HoneyCrisp. Red delicious CAN be wonderful if they are fresh picked and still crisp but the ones you get in the stores tend to be mealy and flavorless.0

I think I mentioned above that I'm allergic. I've got a yard full of apple trees. One Gravenstein, a bunch of golden delicious, and something red- I suspect Jonathan. I have had small tastes of them well cooked down to denature the proteins. They taste better than the applesauce I remember my mom making when I was a kid with store bought. But usually they get given away or fed to my critters.0

Granny Smith and Pink Lady....I love me some crunch!
I actually broke a crown tooth in a Granny Smith apple....now that was a hard *kitten* apple2 -
I love Granny Smiths, but since developing reflux, they are too much for me. Heartburn every time I eat one0

I do occasionally get Cortland.0 -

I like our local varieties a lot, so I don't typically pay the $$$ for the ones shipped from far away (and the smaller stores aren't likely to stock them). (I'm in the northern US).0 -

Very much so. They're the nectar of the gods.0 -
If your main goal is losing weight, then no food is "bad" for you, only foods that are not worth the calories they add. If your main goal is something else, like lowering your cholesterol or limiting your blood sugar, then that's a different story.
Oh, and apples are freakin' awesome for you.0 -
Why would you listen to medical advice meant for somebody else? Besides, something is very obviously lost in translation, here.5
-
Oh my god what did I even start?
(For the record, fuji or gala or you're wrong)1 -
Braeburns for me.0
