I started C25K this year, but I have trouble listening to instructions (I don't even really read recipes, I just "imagine" half of the procedures). So, after finishing week 3 of C25K and then taking one week off of training because of life and illness, today I went back to the gym and was going to do a short full body workout + cardio to get back into the rhythm. Long story short I ended up running 3K in about 30 minutes without walking (!) and then did a short arm & chest workout. I guess I need to thank C25K for getting me this far!!!!
In July, when I started my weightloss, I could barely run for 30 seconds. I am so so happy.22 -
Today I wore slacks and a blouse to work that didn't fit a month ago! I also am feeling so much more confident in all of my jeans and don't feel like I need to go buy bigger clothes now!17

Today I completed C25K for the second time. First time was last year but this time, I'm aiming to run a 10K over summer. On to the 10k trainer
That's awesome!!! I start Week Four, Day 1 tonight and am really nervous about the five minute runs. I can't wait for the day I can say I've completed the program! Congratulations and good luck with your 10k!

Went shopping for a new bra and ~perhaps~ one pair of pants since all my old ones were really hanging on me like potato sacks. Turns out I was really lucky as they had a 75% sale on already reduced pants going for that day only. Because they were so ridiculous cheap, I bought 6 pair of pants. Four of them fit now although it's still hard to process that I actually fit into those pants looking at them (I lost about 5 clothing sizes so far and my mind still hasn't entirely caught up). I bought them pretty tight so I can "grow" into them and they last a tiny bit longer but just the experience that I can put on those sizes is amazing. And since it was such a crazy sale, I even bought 2 more pair of pants 2-3 sizes below of what I am now - they don't fit yet but just looking at those pant legs I still can't believe I my legs might be able to fit into them in a few months; admittedly they are skinny pants but they are about the size of what a loose sleeve would have been at my highest weight.24

Next month, I'm going to be traveling to a conference in a city I lived in over six years ago. I have actually been there several other times in the past few years (usually on my way to visit family elsewhere), but I have never once looked up any of my old friends there, because I didn't want them to see me fat. When I left there, I was really thin, and I just couldn't handle the shocked look on all of their faces as they reacted to seeing me before ultimately trying to play it off like they didn't notice. Well, this time, I've reached out to them so that we can finally catch up in person. I won't be to my goal weight—only a little over halfway—but I'm making progress and no longer feel ashamed about my physical state of affairs. I'm actually looking forward to seeing them.30

Lifting High? I've heard of runners high, but I swear there's a lifting high. I'm so excited for lifting days - and those are every-other day. My cells feel full of electricity for hours.
I agree it's a thing. I upped my weight on my push press and by the third set I totally felt that "high" feeling--it was awesome!!

My roommate brought me fancy cookies from this wonderful little Italian bakery. But they didn't fit into my calories today. NSV: I resisted the temptation, and am looking forward to enjoying them Thursday!25

tried on some older clothes and one shirt in particular which used to pull tight across my arms, hangs off - yeah biceps!!13

I found "new" bones in my back haha11

I went shopping in my closet! I realized that my size 14 jeans were falling down so I was brave enough to try on the 12's. A month or so ago I couldn't pull them up beyond my rather large thighs and rear end. I tried on the 12's and could button them. They were snug but I could wear them (I knew they would loosen up a bit from wearing them). So I went through my box of "too small" clothes that is stuffed in the back of my closet and pulled out some more jeans and some scrubs I haven't worn in a long time. It felt great!24

I went to the gym, despite the fact I really didn't want to go.32

The # on my scale has gone up .6 lbs over the last two weeks, which is a major bummer. What the heck, body?
So I decided to take measurements: I lost 1 1/4" off my belly, an inch total from my hips and waist, an inch on each arm, and over an inch from my neck. That's pretty sweet, especially since some of those areas have stayed the same for a long time.24 -
I've known for a while that I'm less self conscious than I was but this morning it REALLY clicked for me.
I'm super clumsy and that used to embarrass me I didn't think it was cute or funny. If I did something silly I'd get really flustered and automatically assume everyone was judging me.
Now when I do really silly things I just laugh. When I trip over nothing I laugh. This morning I dropped a ton of coffee grounds everywhere at work and while I was on the floor trying to clean them up the best I could I was laughing uncontrollably. I also spilled my glass of water all down my pants when I got to work this morning... I just laughed. Yesterday I dropped my entire paczki powder sugar, apple filling and all down the front of myself at work and I just started laughing.
And I've found that when people really like you (like romantically) they kind of think being a little clumsy is endearing and adorable. And my friends laugh with me when I do these things and I NEVER feel like they're laughing at me, they're very clearly laughing with me.
I think it's healthy to laugh at yourself and I never felt comfortable enough to do that before. I really don't take myself seriously at all anymore and it's okay to make mistakes.46 -
Braved the weather today and took my children for a looooonnnggg walk - 7.5 miles (of which my toddler walked about half). We saw these on our travels:
The heron was particularly cool as we were within about six feet of it; my children were really excited about seeing it up close, especially as it then flew off to catch and eat a fish. We stood there for about 20 minutes watching it. At one point a flock of pigeons flew over the heron's head, causing it to duck down.
Amazing. It's made up for the fact that the rain is now pouring down so I won't be hitting the road on my bike today (again).
I won't tell you what we saw the ducks getting up to, other than to say that their courtship ritual is VERY short . . . no romance there, then!

Yeah, at last! Although I've been seeing little signs of things of spring around the corner for a few weeks now whilst on my bike rides - snowdrops, crocus, catkins, *kitten* willow, daffodils, primroses, the beginnings of leaves on the trees, celandines, the birds nesting; it's been great watching the world wake up again. And I'd have missed it all if I'd not decided to lose weight and get fitter.
Can't wait for the weather to improve and the mornings to be light enough for my early morning cycle rides instead of going to the gym at 5am. It's been a frustrating winter.9 -
Last night I really, really did not want to, but I walked on the treadmill anyway. The memory of my raspberry paczki made me do it.18

my NSV was putting on 6R pants yesterday that weren't stretch y and they fit! First time in years.13

I never post, but I have to brag on myself. If anything, I've had some horrendous Scale setbacks (like, I've gained back everything I lost, +3), but I'm still slowly moving forward.
This weekend, I completed the Gasparilla Michelob Ultra Amber Challenge - I did a 15k, then a 5k, back to back (about 15 minutes in between each race). The next day, I did a half-marathon! Oh, and I did it while fatter than I've ever been AND with a foot plagued with Plantars Fasciitis! I'm pretty damn proud of that NSV!46 -

I've had two this week: Zipping up my winter coat without any struggle (I had to buy XL, and it was tight) AND my bra is doing up on the second row with no back fat hanging over.13

I didn't even realise it had done that! Close enough though I guess. For the more confused, here's the Latin/scientific name: Salix caprea4 -
@Madwife2009 Thank you for sharing your pictures! It's a nice reminder that spring is on the way, when there's still snow on the ground over here. I miss catkins! Oh, and "*kitten* willow" too - that made me giggle!Madwife2009 wrote: »I won't tell you what we saw the ducks getting up to, other than to say that their courtship ritual is VERY short . . . no romance there, then!
Yeah, duck foreplay consists of "brace yourself..."7 -
I'm on week 6 of couch to 10k, my neighbour told me she'd seen me running yesterday and said I looked really good. Made me smile all afternoon.25

I ran yesterday... not once, but twice.
Why? Because I felt like it!
Clearly something has changed and I like it20 -
Another one for me today: I just returned from a physical therapy appointment where I walk on a treadmill in front of a mirror. (Yeah, good times.) Anyway, I really did a double-take at first. Nothing bulges. Nothing sticks out. Nothing pushing out my t-shirt or hanging over my shorts. Like, really, nothing anywhere.
I'm far from toned up, I feel, but I am pretty trim looking -- to my amazement. I now know what people mean about wanting to look good naked. Haha! Me?! I guess I have another goal now.18 -
Started in size 24 jeans now wear size 12 jeans...... started in 2x shirts...now wear L, even have a M and it fits perfect... like my face in the mirror...feel great!35

Yeah, duck foreplay consists of "brace yourself..."
Almost - there were two drakes attending to one duck (or hen may be the preferred term) and a lot of head bobbing going on by the drakes (which I'd never seen before) the female turned her back on both of them and was duly jumped on by one drake, much to the disgust (or disappointment?) of the other. The poor female didn't stand a chance.
So glad I'm not a duck . . . .12 -
I wore a dress that I love but haven't been comfortable wearing out of the house in a while.
Bonus sorta NSV: BMI is no longer classified as morbidly obese.40
