I had 2 NSVs yesterday! First, I went thrift store shopping and found a super cute Lily Pulitzer skirt. Looked at the size, it's a 6. Most of the skirts I've been wearing are size 12. It was really cheap so I bought it anyway figuring I could always sell it if I never get small enough to wear it. Got it home, and it's really tight around the waist but I could wear it if I wanted to!
The other, I'm making a Fairy Godmother costume to wear at an event next month. Took my measurements, looked at the pattern measurements and figured out I need to cut out a 16 for the bust (could probably go down to a 14 but I don't want to risk it being too small) and a 14 for the waist. The costume I made in October I had to cut out an 1826 -

This had me laughing out loud too!

My husband told me I look skinny when I got dressed to go to the gym this morning! And then I worked out at the gym until I hit my daily step goal.22

Felt like doing something irish this morning and instead of making soda bread (and eating the loaf) i looked up irish step dancing how to videos on YouTube and spent quite a while trying to learn to dance a jig.43

I finished week 5 of C25K today. W5D3 is the first 20 minute run with no breaks. It went much better than I expected but about 17 minutes into it I had to channel my inner Prefontaine and just keep going even though I wanted to stop. I'm looking forward to week 6.24

We are so close in where we are in the program!! I just did week 6 day 1 last night! I feel so close to finishing the program, but still so far! Lol

@astronaught and @khenik6064 - Amazing work, hang in there!! I go for W8 D3 tonight to cap it off. Planning on continuing for C210K12

My "lower" thighs above my knees no longer touch when I walk or run. Was weird at first, but I'm loving it!20

My most recent NSV is that I stepped out of my comfort zone yesterday evening and went to an intense, HIIT style exercise class that is co-led by a friend from my church. I knew I was going to get my hat handed to me since I am a bit out of shape right now, and I pretty much did. But it was a great atmosphere, because the leader last night offered an easier modification for just about every exercise, and I used them when I needed to. I won't be able to go back for a few weeks, but I definitely plan on returning. After all, the best part is that it's free.29

I know how you feel. I feel over the hump, proving to myself that I can run for 20 minutes straight, but I still have to tack on another 2KM to hit a 5k.
I was researching online and was surprised to see a lot of people saying that w6d1 was actually the hardest day because they were overconfident after w5d3. How was it for you?3 -

What program are you using? My C25K has me running the 20 mins the first day of week 7. (Then 20 again, then 25, 28, 30, and finally 35. I'll probably be a half mile short of a 5k distance when I hit the last day.)
Edit: I'm using Fitness22 app.1 -
I feel much lighter on my feet, much more agile and mobile. Mentally I've also been feeling really sharp,32

Two today!
1) I chased the Kindergarten kids around the gym and caught most of them! Three months ago I never would have even thought about trying to run with them.
2) Today was Sports Day at school so I pulled out my Steve McNair (RIP) jersey. Three months ago it was a tight shirt. Today it was a loose tunic!
I'll choose to focus on these 2 things rather than the 4 year old that asked if I was pregnant. You can't win 'em all I guess!38 -

I'm using C25K by Zen Labs. Week 6 goes back to intervals on days 1 and 2, which I'm assuming is what throws some people off.4 -
My husband impulse bought me a new food scale at Costco. I didn't need a new scale and I like my current one better, but I liked that when he saw it he thought about me and how much I use my scale.34

I also used Zenlabs and didn't have those problems - the 20 minute run was the toughest, then I felt it got easier. Doing ZENLABS C210K now and find that harder - in the third week and I'm struggling ^^3 -

I have not lost a single pound but I decided to take measurements and I have lost 3 inches (1.75 from waist and 1.25 from hips). Maybe this evening I'll measure my thighs too. I kind of feel like they are getting a smaller. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.
Good idea. I didn't lose anything this week but the Boditrax machine reckons I lost fat and gained muscle so measuring might show a difference for me too.

Yesterday I tried on a size 7/8 dress of my daughter's and it fit. And it didn't even look too bad! It honestly brought tears to my eyes (I started out as a 1X).37

I normally get one thing for me when I do my grocery shopping for my family.
I am amazed that I wanted V8 Vfusion over candy! O.o
I bought something HEALTHY, cause I was craving it!
Never thought I would see the day.
I like this!

I bought an indoor trainer for my bike a little while ago as a celebration for hitting a mini-goal. At the time, my stated purpose was to make sure I didn't use bad weather or childcare issues as an excuse to not work out. I also hoped that my family would use it. Hubs wasn't at all interested. Totally fine; we're on separate journeys.
Fast forward two months. I just got off the bike to find my husband dressed in workout clothes and ready to hop on after I finished. Yes!!!44 -
I have a few:
1. Plateau over a month now and realised my husband was putting too many "healthy" ingredients in our nutribullet breakfast smoothies. Decided to scale back and BAM the weight is dropping off! Yes! FINALLY! The NSV is recognising what works and doesn't work for you.
2. Walked to and from work all week! 1 hour each way. I averaged 25K steps every other day when I did my 10K trainer as well.
3. Completed Day 1 of Week 11 of Zen Labs 10K trainer today.
4. A friend who hasn't seen me since January said my face looked slim and I was glowing
5. My stomach looks so much smaller than January and my waistline is way more defined.
6. My UK12/US8 red mini skirt that was a little bit tight last month, is now fitting perfectly.
The most important NSV is not giving up and getting back on the track every single time.35 -
I have had a jacket that fit but could not be zipped. I've gotten a few jackets with my weight loss and had hung the old one up a while back. Thought I'd try it on today and it not only zipped but it was loose! A happy dance this morning for me while getting ready.26

My husband, son and I drove 4 hours to visit family today and instead of stopping somewhere for lunch, I packed healthy hummus pita sandwiches for all three of us! Dinner was less healthy and there was birthday cake, but I didn't give up on the whole day. And my butt hurts from sitting in the car all day! I missed doing something physical.20

couple nice things.
-i 'tested' my 'actual' strength with the lat pulldown station this week and discovered that i'm a whole TEN POUNDS' worth of stronger at it - with strict form. that's after three years of just using it off and on as a noodling/rehab/prehabby/fun thing for my wonky shoulder, without any intention of getting stronger at it. and i'm excited about the 'ten pounds' part because the way the thing's rigged, that's actually 20 of 'real to your muscles' weight. re-tried it today just in case it was some kind of fluke, and it was not
- saw a massage/bodywork person today who said that the impressive thing was 'the right muscles hurt' after doing her tests. i'm laughing about it now, but she said she was mentioning it because it's pretty rare. and it's great news because it means even if my muscles aren't happy right now, i'm doing the right stuff when i try to use them.16 -

You may have already done it now, but w6d1 was actually pretty difficult for me. My legs were definitely feeling the burn! I had also done a kickboxing (I really enjoy the class and refuse to let 5k training interfere!) class a couple hours earlier that I think may have contributed to it some as well!

MrsPinterest34 wrote: »Another NSV. For the past month and the half every morning I started doing 1500 steps before I leave home for work. So I usually spend 10 minutes marching in place and doing some light jogging. I decided today to jog faster for 6 minutes non-stop and I was surprised I was able to do it and I wasn't even tired. I could've gone longer. I met my 1500 step target. My heart rate stayed at 140 which means I must be doing it right. I think may start running by Summer time.
So I checked my weight this morning and i have gained 1lb. Weight loss is not linear so I'm not worried. I'm keeping track of my CI/CO on an excel spreadsheet and I'm consistently in a deficit. My real NSV is that I've lost 0.25inch off my hips this week! As a pear shaped woman this is a big victory.
This morning I decided to jog in my house non-stop for 15 minutes. After 15 mins I wasn't tired so I kept going until 30 minutes and stopped. I still wasn't tired and I was sweating like crazy. My heart rate stayed between 145-155. My Garmin watch showed I had made 5103 steps and jogged 2.75 miles.
I can't believe my cardiovascular endurance is improving without me going to the gym. This improvement is from walking average 12,000 steps everyday since January.
I have 2 goals for losing weight. My health, to stop my blood pressure med and reduce my risk of cardiovascular disease. I think I'll probably stop the bp med in May probably earlier. My second and vain reason, I'm into fashion and dressing up and I just want to wear all the cute outfits in my closet in the summer
My intent for weight loss was not to run, I'm not a runner, but I might take up running temporarily with a goal to join a recreational COED soccer team. I love soccer and it's my favorite sport. With all the sprinting involved in soccer I'll be burning some serious calories. I've been thinking of how to reward myself if I maintain my weight loss for years, I think I'll buy tickets to the next World Cup games.
