I just ran a mile in 11'22". My overall pace for 3.71 miles was 12'21". That included 5 minutes walking at the beginning and 5 minutes walking at the end. I have never gotten below 14 minutes before.43

Just wanted to share some photos from today's cycle ride:
Those violets are tiny; also saw some white ones but couldn't stop to get a photo as I was slogging up a hill
Spring is finally here, and I am so pleased that the clocks have finally gone forward as it opens up my day to fit cycliing in. I am thrilled; it's been a long winter. The snowdrops and crocuses may be over but the magnolias are out, the daffodils are waxing and waning and I've seen the first shoots of bluebells (my favourite flower).
Managed to fit in a 20-mile ride today, including up the HFH parts I and II twice (there's something so satisfying about that accomplishment). Planning to tackle HFH I & II three times in one outing before the end of this week, and I'm going to try to fit in THE HILL which allows me to go really fast down it; haven't been down that one since the autumn and I'm looking forward to it - getting up the hill should be a little easier as I've been up and down the HFH a few times now
I hit 38.6 mph today but had to yank on the brakes as some numpty in a car decided to give way to another car even though he didn't have to. Surely the driver knew I was hurtling down the hill and knew that he should get out of my way? I mean, I'm expected to be a mind-reader when out on the roads, so surely that works both ways? No?
Slightly shattered today; the clocks went forward, I didn't get much sleep due to toddler nightmares, up @5am (=4am) for the gym, visited my mum for most of the day as it's Mothering Sunday, then the bike ride, followed by getting the children into bed/housework.

@Madwife2009 Thank you for posting such lovely photos! Spring is here for us too, but today that meant a deluge with high winds and hail!
Maybe you were going so fast the ESP didn't have time to kick in on the numpty driver??? Or he/she was just oblivious as is the case with most drivers in my area. Lol7 -

We still have strong "breezes" - ended up cycling straight into a horrible headwind a few times. 'Tis hard work but so worth it I think that we have sayings around here to do with March winds and April showers . . . . more fun to come yet!
I think that you're right about the drivers - most of them are totally oblivious around here as well, especially with cyclists.6 -
Fit into a straight size 16 pair of jeans... they were legit jeans not the stretchy kind I've been used to wearing. They fit great except they were too short! (Tall girl problems.) I had to cuff them but it's not quite warm enough for capris yet... so I left them at the store but still happy started at a 22.38

I have new dents in my legs!
Inside leg, side of my knee, curves in way more than I have ever noticed before!
my OH is getting sick of the 'should this look like this?' questions lol
and I bought a pull up bar that has a max weight of 14st13 - did a double take as my brain first said 'nope, you are 16st- keep looking'
no, no I am now 14st11, I can so have that bar!22 -
I was at Old Navy yesterday and I saw this cute summer dress. I grabbed the medium size and forgot to take the large size to try-on. I always take both sizes because large will probably fit. Surprisingly the medium size dress did fit. It's tough to find cute dresses when you are extreme pear shaped. I also wanted to try on the summer dress with a belt. I saw a medium/large belt on sale. I always wear a medium belt. I tried on the medium belt and well, it was too big. So I had to get the small/xsmall belt. I also saw these cute tank tops for sale. I usually buy medium and this time the small fit perfectly. I always able to jog across the George Mason Memorial bridge all the way to the Tidal Basin next to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial without stopping. Now that's progress!31

I went to a bachelorette party over the weekend--- lots of photos! When I looked at all the pictures we took, I could see a real difference in the way I looked; mostly my arms looking toned and my face looking thinner. The scale hasn't been budging lately but I can SEE a difference which is really even better!30

Kind of a bittersweet NSV - I had to unsubscribe from Torrid's emails because I realized I am now too small to wear most of their clothes. The good thing is that I can now shop at so many other stores!46

With the help and support from my new boyfriend, I've seen a huge change in my relationship with beer. I'm now able to go the whole week without craving it, and am doing very well with moderating on the weekends. This comes after nearly 4 years of drinking heavily and excessively.57

For the first time in two years, I don't hate seeing my reflection in the mirror at Zumba. Smallish thing but it makes me cry thinking about it!35

I wore a zip-up hooded sweatshirt yesterday that I pulled from the back of the closet and it fit. I hadn't been able to fit into this sweatshirt for the past 5 years.27

Today I am wearing a new "normal store" size xl jacket (a year ago I was rapidly outgrowing 3xs). Also, I seem to be well on my way to "undergrowing" the smallest sized jeans I have ever worn as a grown-up. Weightloss can be expensive... lol43

I bought a new work belt yesterday as 'reward' for hitting a mini-weight loss goal... and now have to return it for a smaller size when I tried it on at home with suit pants on this morning!24

This just happened to me too! I get catalogs from Torrids, Woman Within, Roamans, Serengeti...all the plus-sized places. My last order from one of them--I got everything in the smallest sizes they offered and had to return half for being too large. I'm a little at a loss, because I haven't shopped anywhere else...in DECADES!23 -
Today marks 120 days of logging and exercising... In that 120 days I am currently in need of new pants and have gone from a 2xl to a large in tops. I don't think I will every get tired of hearing my co workers tell me that I am "Disappearing"30

Yesterday was my birthday and I didn't binge. I don't mean I fought the urge all day long and was miserable -- I mean I enjoyed the day and never felt the need to EAT EVERYTHING because IT'S A SPECIAL DAY. I had some wine and a meal out, I didn't over-order in a desperate attempt to try everything while it was "allowed," and I stopped eating when I was full. And I never felt bad about it! Not deprived, not desperate, not anything. Just had fun. This is HUGE for me. Just life-changingly huge!53

I overheard a family member telling another one that you could tell all my exercising was paying off because i just got up from my seat way faster than i used to and without struggling ( the things people notice).
Also i am starting to see the muscles in my back and shoulders.

Yeah fitnessblender!!! I workout with Kelli & Daniel 5 days a week. It's been a total game changer for me!(used to be a runner and then I had kids and well...I chose to be a runner who mostly lifts/does HIIT and then runs on the random evening/sat am when I get the chance for some "me time")

Yes, the FREEDOM! And today, even though I did eat over maintenance and mostly "junk" yesterday, I don't feel like I need to starve myself and punish myself for it. I genuinely feel okay just going back to eating normal amounts of normal food, and I genuinely feel like that's fine. I did cry a little this morning when I realized all this, not going to lie. For months I've been saying I'm "working on" my food issues but not felt I was making much progress... and then bam. Breakthrough.25 -
I ran.
For the first time since I was in junior high school (31 years ago), I ran. Not fast - more of a jog, and probably a funny looking uncoordinated jog - but I ran. I have been telling people for 30 years that the only time they would see me run was if zombies were chasing me. But my legs wanted to run SO BADLY that I had to let them go for it! And apparently jogging uses an entirely different set of muscles than walking, because I've been walking for a long time but today my legs hurt! It is glorious!46 -
I rode the bike route for the triathlon I'm doing in a month and a half. The last time I rode it there was no wind but there was a hearty headwind yesterday. My average pace increased .1 mph. This was a 2.3 mph improvement over the pace of my ride on Thursday.23

I usually buy shirts in a size large/x-large. Yesterday I tried on a medium since there where no larges left on the rack and it fit perfectly!30

Last year I struggled to string my recurve bow. Yesterday I took it out for the first time this year and it was effortless. Weight training pays off!24
