What has taken over MFP more Keto Threads or ACV Threads

I personally think it's Keto. I'm wondering how long this trend will last. I know Keto has always been a way of eating for some people, and works well for them, but it seems to be the new gluten free, paleo, or crossfit, where people jump in head first and that's all they talk about.

I give threads with "Keto" in their subject as miss, and I don't know what ACV even stands for.
Guess I'm missing the invasion.3 -
Right now, neither. Boobs and pizza rule.6

I mean and rightfully so. I'm going to click on a thread that has either of those two words in it. Well unless cauliflower comes before it. Like "what can be done about my cauliflower boobs" (just kidding I'm still looking) or Check out this amazing cauliflower pizza recipe! (definitely not clicking).

The takeaway is can ≠ should.0

ACV - apple cider vinegar
I'd say they're equal. Low carb is pretty up there along with eat more to lose more (the "bad" version, not "eat as much as you can while still eating at a deficit" version).0 -
Keto.
We actually saw this coming in the LCD community when Oz started talking about it last year.8 -

LOL Yep, we're just so "with it" now.3 -
ACV, like all other fads resurfaces under a slight rebranding every now and then. We are seeing a huge rise in adverse medical events thanks to this.
People have no idea the potential damage this does to the gastrointestinal system.4 -
At least keto is a viable way of eating that can be helpful for some people. I don't mind seeing keto threads so long as they're not making sweeping statements about how everyone should try it or making magical claims about eating over maintenance and not gaining "because keto."
All the ACV threads make me a little sad because there is so much nonsense in them.
I feel like we MFP members get to see the ebb and flow of what is "popular" in the dieting industry. All we have to do is look at the recurrence of certain thread topics over a period of time.12 -

There are keto threads that don't do that?9 -

Surprisingly, yes, I've seen a few... usually of the variety of "need keto food ideas" or "need keto help" or "anyone doing keto". Sometimes those do devolve into the typical MFP *kitten* but not always.

This actually kinda frightens me. Because to me it means that there's a possibility of even more stupid... and it's already a good contender for first place.

Acv and Keto threads have been around as long as I have been a member about 3 years. Keto is not going anywhere acv is picking up popularity probably bc of all the ads lately Jenny McCarthy lost x amount and all she did was drink this every day kinda things.0

Did someone say Coconut Oil?
There is always going to be a diet fad. The ideas like balanced meals, calorie counting doesn't really sell well to the general public. You gotta come with claims like "Eat all you can, and lose weight doing that!". Or some miracle elixir that does absolutely nothing lol. They then write a book and profit, and comes the other fad.9 -
i never heard of acv as for keto what is it and why would someone do keto, i have heard bodybuilders doing keto to get ripped for a contest,0

The I'm hungry threads all of a sudden partly had me convinced it was one poster creating several profiles because that's the only question they have ever posted, just a variation of every month. I called them out the last couple of times.
And there are has been a spike in people convinced they're outliers lately. I'm doing a lot of avoiding threads at the moment lest I get put in jail.10 -

ACV - apple cider vinegar
Keto - a low carb, high fat diet where your carbs have to be low enough to put you in ketosis so your body will use fat instead of carbs for energy.0 -
Can we bring back the Easy Mac thread?12

I took it as sarcasm but maybe I'm too naive2 -
I'll still look at the occasional ACV thread. I stay out of the keto threads, it has no relevance to me. High fat with a bad gall bladder = pain, and some stupid asshat once told me it would cure something uncurable and I wanted to nutpunch him, so I stay away, just in case some other twit makes a similar claim.12

Maybe. But 28 posts. Not so sure. Hopefully they come back and tell us!4 -

Seconded! I'd much rather eat EasyMac than swig ACV.
Garcina cambogia seems to have dropped in popularity.4
