When I lived in Boston, I got asked to repeat things a lot. ha Not always for amusement sake, but because people didn't understand me.
Apparently the way I say "ice" in my Southern accent sounds like "*kitten*" to them.
I live in Rhode Island and when I meet someone new they know almost immediately I am not from New England originally.

Ha! I saw it on a TV show, actually a Southern chef said it that way and it has stuck with me since.
