Any 30-Day Shredders out there?

I just started the 30 Day shred today on level one. I have attempted to start the 30 day challenge on my own about 2 different times, went strong for a week then stopped. I would love to start the shred with you all and get more focused. I will start my day one today but still check in on Mon. Its great to hear so many of you all who really feel this dvd, I know I do! Here is my official check in to start.
Current Weight: 145
Goal: 125 (By Feb 30!)
At level one I def. feel my body working, I got a Polar F4 for xmas this year and it really helps me calculate my exact calorie burn. I wonder, the times past when I worked out it was for a longer period of time, the 20 min shred feels great, especially after I see that i've burned +-280 cal. But I still feel like I should work out for longer. Has anyone incorporated levels one and two? Or done Level 1 twice?

When I do the shred videos I do two or even three levels at a time. I dont do it everyday. Your muscles need to rest for at least a day. If you feel one level is not enough for you do two levels but make sure you rest the next day from it. You can still do another cardio exercise that won't involve much jumping...walking, cycling, swimming, zumba... Also on some of the exercises such as for your back you can increase the weights. I use from 3lbs to 12lb dumbells throughout the workout. When I first did these videos back in sep every other day religiously I broke through my plateau and met my weight goal. But then of course I let go from Oct to Dec, diet and exercise and gained a few pounds. :grumble: :flowerforyou:0 -
I gave in and did level 2 today. Wow was it a workout! But I like it better than level 1. I was getting bored and didn't feel I was getting as much out of it. I know I burned some calories with it. Phew!0

Tell me more!!!! I just got finished with Day 4 of Level 1...a little easier....but I am gettin bored, so it's funny, that you posted this, because I previewed Level 2 right after my workout.
The only thing I'm concerned about, from what I'm seeing, is the amount of lunges & their severity. Thoughts on that????0 -

Ok, I didn't think it was too bad. In all honesty! But the skater things were pretty hard and I had to modify those. There was another thing like mountain climbers (I can't remember what jillian calls them) and I had to modify those too because I have knee trouble and that put a lot of pressure on my knee. I did everything else unmodified and the lunges really weren't too bad. They weren't too intense but I know everyone is different. I have a ton more lower body strength than upper so I've never really had a problem with lunges like I do with push ups.0 -

Good to know, thanks soooooooooooo much!!! My knee KILLS me on those darn lunges. But I'm going to gear up for them anyway! Thanks so much, I REALLY appreciate your insight.0 -
I think if you just take it slow and don't try to push it, you'll be fine. My knee kills me on them too.0

Are you supposed to do the shred 30 days in a row??? I heard that your muscles will recover faster and you'll tighten up faster if you rest a day in between working a specific group. Does anyone know if this is true???0
-
Ok so I have heard SOOO much about the 30 Day Shred that I went online and bought it last night. Now I am waiting with baited breath, drooling to get started...it's ALMOST like I just bought a huge vat of Chocolate that is being delivered to my door!!! LOL
I'll let you know when I get it and if I still feel the same!
Good Luck everyone!0 -

I'm not exactly sure. At the end of level 2 she says "see you tomorrow". I have another group of friends who are also doing it and they don't know either. I think it's really just listen to what your body says. If you can't do it everyday, then I don't see any harm in resting. I did it for 4 days in a row and took saturday off. I figured I could use the cardio everyday at least.0 -

Does anyone feel "TIGHT" afgter doing The Shred? I feeel like my muscles are extra tight....like I need a major yoga session to stretch me out again.0
-
After doing level 2 my back is definitely tight. I think it was all that in the plank position. I'm hoping today is easier and I'm not so sore.0

I'm moving up to Level 2 tomorrow...but I plan to head straight to yoga tonight...I need to stretch out BIG TIME!!!!!0 -
Level 2 was much easier to follow the 2nd time. It was still a killer though. I know it is a good workout if I'm cussing Jillian out at the end barely able to finish the last cardio circuit.0

I love the 30 day shred with Jillian and all the Biggest Loser workouts. I have a treadmill, but feel that I burn alot more calories with Jillian and Bob. I usually stick to level 1 with the 30 day shred, then do another Biggest Loser workout to finish. I have seen inches reduced in my size, but not pounds. I am definitely toning.0

Hi! I'm excited to find some more 30 Day Shred fans!! I did the shred back in October then slacked off during the holidays. I told a co-worker about the DVD this week, and she went out and bought it that very day, and challenged me for the next 30 days!! So now I HAVE to do it!! Just started today, and I feel good!! Just wondering how you all are calculating the calories burned. I know this question has come up before, but I can't seem to nail it down. Right now I'm at Level 1. Appreciate your input!!0

 I am laughing sooooooooooo hard, because THAT is exactly what I was doing this morning...cursing Jillian out (I just moved up to Level 2 today)....BUT, I have to say....I like Level 2 MUCH beter than Level 1!!!!! REALLY! I was wooried about all the knee modificatiosn I was going to have to do...but, it really wasn't that bad. What a great workout!!!! LOVED IT!!!!
Has anyone been brave enough to do Level 3 yet? I'm just curious how scary it is????? Though I won't be venturing in to the Kingdom of Level 3 for awhile yet!!!!0 -
The first time I did level 2 I really thought my knees can't take this but after working on form a little bit I can really enjoy the pendulum lunges and don't seem to be having any problem with my knees. I cannot do the double jump ropes though and was wondering does anyone else have a stress problem with those. After 2 kids, everytime I do those I think crap I need to be doing more Kegels.:embarassed:0

Hey everyone! I decided to move up to level 2 on Tuesday. I previewed it before I did it and I thought it seemed easy. Then I actually did it lol. Im on my third day of level 2 and it is kicking my butt, but its definitely getting easier.
I definitely like level 2 better than level 1 although I feel like im going to die at the end lol.0 -
I felt successful too that I didn't die after doing Level 2 this morning. Although...I don't think I'll ever be able to do those double jumpropes, nor go too deep on the lunges. My knees have been aching today, but not as bad as I expected.Cant wait to do it again tomorrow!
Let me know if you hear from any Level 3 Survivors!!! :laugh:0 -
YIKES!!! I ended up on crutches last night...my ankle, seriously was in sooooo much pain, and I couldn't step on. I didn't feel it all day, until I finally relazed around 9pm.
Has anyone done anything similar after doing this workout?0 -

I'm also feeling it in weird places...like my right elbow???? Weird, huh? I think it's from the military press. But mostly, the crutches threw me, I can;t figure out what I've done to my ankle...it;s like the tendons are twisted, Uuuuggggghhhhhh!!!!0 -
Where does it hurt on the ankle? I'm not sold on that plank with the bouncing up and then back to plank. I feel a lot of stress on my achillis in that so may just do the modified version.0

We must think alike I don't like that one either. I'm considering holding 2 side planks during that minute to work the sides.0

Hey everyone! Do we have a check-in posted for today yet? I couldn't find it. But will start one if we don't!
Not that I really want to put anything down b/c I really sucked it up last week. I did work out 5 days, but only did the shred 3 days, then PIGGED OUT last weekend. I'm hoping that my enormous weight increase is water weight from all the beer i drank. But i'll continue to work at it.
Everyone else is doing awesome by the way....keep it up!

Used my Heart rate monitor for the first time today with the shred and my HRM showed exactly what this site shows for 20 minutes of General Circuit...thought that was pretty cool!0
