This mayyyyy cross over the line into TMI...But I'm sharing it anyway!
Over the years as I've progressed towards the healthy lifestyle I've always longed for my mental health (concerning thoughts about my body and my ability to be positive even when not perfect) have also improved IMMENSLEY. Win #1 because this was a DEFINITE part of my goal.
However. I've also experienced a new level of body awareness that's actually pretty awesome, though strange. It's especially helpful when I'm fighting to be positive.
A few months ago I noticed a correlation between "fat" days (awful days when it seems as if nothing fits, many my profess is lost forever and I'll never get where I want to be) and...here it goes...having to poop! What!? But YES! Turns out, probably 90% of the time when I'm down mentally because of feeling "fat" it's because I need to poop and I haven't yet! I've been tracking this for all of 2017 so far and seriously, there's a very high percentage of the time when I feel this way mentally and it turns out a simple bathroom trip literally causes me to feel light, and healthy and awesome again. It's quite strange, I know! so win number one is that my mental positivity has changed enough that I'm not stuck in a rut and beating myself up all the time. It's really quite rare that I have "fat" days any more and usally they're 30mins of a "fat" mindset before Truth pours in and those lies are out to bed. Win number two? Body awareness? Discovering that the fat illusion is actually connected to how my body feels in the moment. Woo!43 -

I can agree with this. I had the same revelation.5 -
Weight loss is liberation.
I was just going to write something like this!
I'm nearly done -- about 10 more lbs to go, and I'm getting stronger and leaner with exercise; I'm also healing from a long illness and injury, and those are nearly OK now too. Last week, I fit into all my clothes that I loved and wore before I got hurt. I am old me, again. And what I noticed lately is how I feel like my old self sometimes. I'm sitting here listening to music I haven't listened to in over a decade.
For me, getting weight off -- getting out of this body that wasn't "mine" and never felt right or good -- is having ME back.
I've missed me42 -
When people ask me how did it, and I tell them diet and exercise, how disappointed they are. Everyone wants a quick easy fix when it comes down to discipline and hard work.
I loved seeing my collarbone and seeing a tiny mole I forgot I had because it was under a roll of fat!29 -
I got one!
in drinking more water tap water taste in different locations I can tell the difference between my house, my mother-in-law's, and work.
I can also taste the difference between different bottle waters.18 -

I really was doing great here, losing at least a pound per week. Then the weight loss stalled and things got stressful at work so I decided to eat at maintenance for a couple of months. That couple of months, and a vacation at the end of April, and I'm at the same weight I was at in the first week of February. And after eating a ton of sweets and snacks, it is sooooo hard to get back to eating at a deficit.
100% agree. I was at a plateau for about 7 months hovering around 80kg. I thought it was the worst! Then we went on a vacation, and afterwards stuff was happening at work that got me stressed/sad...decided I needed "one less stressor" so I gave up on self control all together. 6 weeks later I'm 3kg heavier and wishing I could go back to the "good old" 80kg! Lol
I'm back on track as of this week though, but trying to not stress out about it. More veggies, more fruit and less everything else. Hopefully I can turn this around!
Totally understand that. When my dad got sick everything kinda came falling down and instead of going to the gym and eating healthy I turned to booze and food. It comes on quicker than it does off! You can absolutely turn it around! It's about being healthy and happy and not holding onto the security blanket of burger wrappers lol8 -
your knees and back will get boney and sleeping would be more defficult
you might gain and lose weight... keep going its only natural
your weightloss might be the main topic for a long time

I'm experiencing a weird paradox. I like to look back and see when the last time was that I weighed the weight I am now (a year ago) and my goal weight (2015). I feel good about my weight now since I'm on the way down, but didn't feel good about it a year ago, or in 2015 when I was at my goal weight, since I was on the way up! I guess this is the, "you don't know what you got til it's gone" thing? I look back and can't believe that I was at such a good weight but didn't feel good about it at all!17

I feel this way when I look at photos from high school and college. I always thought that I was chubby when I was in high school. I didn't think I was extremely fat, but I thought I needed to lose 5-10 pounds. But I didn't, I was at a really good weight in high school. As I got older and put on weight I wished that I had actually enjoyed it when I was slim.18 -
I swear I'm smarter now after 37 pounds gone. My brain works so much faster and I can retain things better. What a fatty food fog I was in (I think I'm going to trademark that).
Also more energy, like others have said. My house is cleaner.32 -
I need to go try on more clothes! LOL I got a dress a couple months ago and I got it a little snug because it is a goal and it is also easy to make smaller where I need it. -sigh- I may just have to take it in before I can wear it a 1st time!
I'm eating ALL day long!
I had seen some people posting about as they lost weight people would ask if they were sick! That puzzled me! Today I got my 1st "are you sick?? You look so much thinner! Are you sure your not sick?"
ROFLOL YAY ME!!!!!!21 -

THIS. I'm actually thankful at times that I gained weight, because when I was at my now goal weight I was constantly trying to lose 30 pounds, or other ridiculous things that I realize now would have been severely unhealthy, if not impossible, for me to obtain. Now I know that where I was a few years ago is a healthy weight for me, and that I look good there, not like the giant blob I thought I was!

Not proud of it but I swear I've become more of a b**ch now that my confidence is growing37

I've shopped at H&M for awhile, but I don't think I've ever purchased anything from there that actually had a numbered size. I feel like everything I've ever purchased has been a "S,M,L,XL." The stuff with the numbered sizing never seemed to fit right when I was small, and as I got larger I just don't think I fit in any of their largest numbered sizes. You know how it is the "s,m,l,xl " stuff usually has some stretch to it, whereas their numbered stuff tends to be the more tailored pieces.
But I just bought my first numbered size shirt from H&M yesterday, and in a 10 no less! The scale just finally started to move again after literally being at a standstill for months, and while I've dropped sizes on the bottom the top/midsection has just refused to lose an inch! The button down blouse was sleeveless, lol so I'm sure if it had sleeves I probably wouldn't be able to get in a 10 as my upper arms are just as stubborn as my middle and won't shrink! But I'm still in a 10 top! It's a hair snug across my shoulders, but the 12 was way too big so I'm sure the 10 will fit perfectly in a few weeks.
I've been feeling a bit defeated due to the non-movement of the scale, so I REALLY needed this NSV to let me know that yes I'm making progress. Excited!23 -
I find myself actually squatting when bending down and having much more energy when going up stairs, it's the little things!27

How easy it becomes to cross your legs and not have to fight to keep them there23

I don't know if anyone else can relate, but the more weight I lose the more I realize how big I was to start with, something I never noticed at the time. Now I look back (old pictures, wearing my old clothes that are far too big now) and am pretty shocked, and very pleased that I made the decision to shed pounds.55

I know what you mean, when I see picture now I cringe and wonder how I got there, best part is I know I never want to go back.15
