The steroid monster photo people keep posting is not attractive imho.
I prefer swimmer body, but there's a tendency for swimmers to have thin pecs unless they also do at least *some* weight-lifting. Here's an example of swimmer's-bods with likely a little weight work on the side:

add: pics on the internet tend to be of elite athletes, but I think these 'looks' are achievable for most folk as they represent good fitness even if you are not metabolically and anatomically capable of a world-class performance.
If you were as fit as these folk you probably wouldn't equal their times in the water because that also requires genetic luck of efficient biochemistry, limb-lengths, etc.--but I think we mortals can still look the part, & the *look* can be had at a lower level of fitness that doesn't require working out as a full-time job.1 -

yeah- Neither of them are particularly well muscled- and they could have used more size IMHO at their body weight. Body fat is fine- just- a little bigger (for my preference of what I would want to see in an Amazonian warrior)

She didn't say it is grotesque. She said I find this grotesque. Big difference. She also followed up her statement saying "not my preference," which is exactly what you stated should be said. Not sure why people are jumping on her post.
I also happen to find that type of physique off-putting. It is gross to me. Others, obviously, do not find it so. I think trying to talk about what is "the most attractive" is nonsensical anyway. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. There are way too many personal preferences for any one type of physique to be the "most" attractive or unattractive.8 -

The reason why anyone is calling it out is because it's a *kitten* way to express your "personal opinion" and "preference"
it's fine to say- "not my cup of tea." and leave it at that.
AND body shaming isn't a two way street- if it was a woman- people would be incensed.
You can express your preference without body shaming.6 -
I'm not a fan of the Ahnahld boobage, but that could be my bias showing. I have the chest of a ten year old girl, despite my shoulders benefitting massively from my bench/ohp work. xD2 -

point is- the comment could have been left w/o the grotesque part.
The point would have been made WITHOUT saying that.
Things they teach you in writing classes and HR and work environments- tell the facts that are RELEVANT- and get the point across.
nothing more.

both acceptable.

The Greeks were obsessed with dudes. They not only 'own' the roots of the word misogyny, one of their basic creation myths insisted all of the evil in the world was brought about from Pandora's "box" (also translated jar, and possibly referring to her genitals/womb). Possibly supporting evidence is that no female Greek statues give really *any* genital detail. There's a hint of a crease, at most. Dudes in general were the Greek ideal.0
