What's Your Most Recent NSV

I was on a plane this weekend...lots of room on the belt where it used to be *just* closing!34
-
After years of holding my breath and hoping that airplane seatbelts would close without having to get a second belt, and having the belt cut into me during an entire flight, today this was me with a closed seatbelt. It feels amazing.

I'm wearing a dress today that I've had and worn for years.
I've been asked many times today if it's new, and told that it fits me really nicely!
Old clothes looking new and good! Thats a NSV if I've ever had one.37 -
vanity has never been a thing for me so I feel kinda weird that when I walk up to any glass door as I enter places, I smile at the girl I see......GAH! Gotta keep this train moving...need to rid 30 more pounds. I will probably be asking myself out on dates by then!!!! LOL60
-
@Thehardmakesitworthit I can't think of anyone better to ask out on a date than yourself.11

I PRed my 10k this weekend, which was wonderful, but also heartbreaking because my finishing time was an hour and 35 seconds when I was aiming for under an hour. The real NSV came today when I looked at the race pictures online and found one where the only real problem I had with it was that I was making a weird face, even though I was running in shorts! My legs looked good (if I do say so myself)!

When I first started MFP, my belt was on the second loosest notch (out of six). Last week I had to replace my belt altogether, when the tightest notch wasn't tight enough.
I can also feel my ribs now! (They're not sticking out or anything. I'm not that skinny!)24 -
Not weight related, but healthy living related..
Last night my daughter wanted to make a new pasta recipe she'd found online. I went along with it, and rather than making plans to eat my own meal, I kept track of the ingredients/quantities and AFTER eating a reasonable (to me) portion I entered the items into recipe builder and logged. My dinner came out around 504 calories and was pretty well placed for my daily calories.
I am proud of myself for letting go (a little at least) of control, and not falling into the mindset trap of 'I can't eat that'. I'm proud to have tried something new, and to have been an encouragement to my daughter. Who is not a veggie eater, and was willing to make/eat this meal even though it included spinach. And I'm proud to know that I can trust myself to build a plate with a reasonable portion and trust my judgement on what that looks like.39 -
I went over my daily amount by some margin. But, I logged it all. And I'm going to just put it behind me and get back to it tomorrow. One day doesn't make or break this. I'm glad I genuinely feel that now.36

I wore my old "skinny" string bikini today! I hadn't stopped wearing bikinis at 172lbs...but no more underwires, padding, or ruffles needed. Just the cheap triangles again!21
-
Took my workout outside, did a 10 mile walk at a local national park, keeping at about 3.0mph. Nice walk along the lake!27
-
I fit into size 16 jeans today after wearing size 18-20 for the past four years! I feel so good. I also have an 80 day streak on MFP!36

Soooo hot today that I had to break my cycle ride into three separate rides as more than an hour in that heat would have been too much.
Did the first at 5.30am, the second at 3.30pm this afternoon (big mistake) and the third at 7pm tonight (slightly more bearable).
The second ride was interesting as some random person stopped me to ask for directions, and even though it was as simple as "go to the end of this road, turn left and left again when the road forks and the place you need is on the right" I still had to say it about six times. Random stranger got there okay though, as I saw the car parked up when I cycled past.
I also had to call the Fire and Rescue guys out to a verge fire; some other people were looking at it (as it's crackling away and getting more ferocious) so I told them to ring F&R and cycled on, got a couple of hundred yards on and thought that actually I should ring, just to make sure that the other people had alerted F&R. Good job I did, as F&R knew nothing about the fire. The guy answering the phone was good as he was able to pinpoint where the fire was, even though I didn't know the name of the road, only that it was between X and Y. Maybe I should know, being as I cycle along it at least once every day. When I went along tonight, there was a huge strip of burned bank so I was doubly glad I rang them.
Bit of a day of good deeds today; I also went and fetched cold drinks for my son's boating instructors before cycling off, and sent an acting application into Warner for my daughter. Made me feel all warm and glow-y (is that a word?) - or maybe that was the sun and heat . . .
Tomorrow, as it's forecast to be even hotter (hottest June since 1976 apparently, and I remember that particular summer very well indeed) I am getting up at 4am to get my whole cycle ride in (I got bored of the same route three times today!) before I drag my son out of bed at 6.30am for our C25K.
Then, after breakfast, we're going to pick strawberries as soon as the PYO farm opens.
That's all we have planned for our anniversary at the moment; maybe we'll go out for dinner. Maybe not!17 -
Second day in a row of swimming -- today I was feeling brave enough to try a real stroke (that is, using arms and legs) and see how it might affect my back and legs.
So far, so good! The only impact is feeling pretty beat! I'd forgotten how swimming uses every muscle you've got. Tomorrow I'm going to try a 1/2 mile.
And my acting classes are fantastic -- so far we've been doing exercises that involve using our bodies. (No voice / lines yet.) That I feel confident and free enough to use my body, make it do things it normally wouldn't do to convey emotions I normally wouldn't share is a complete 180 from how I've always gone through life and related to my body. So much fun!24 -
I have declared war on my flabby stomach! It's the only part of me I'm still not happy with. We have a community pool and I've started using it. I swam for a total of 90 minutes today. Even the lifeguard, who is a very fit 18/19 year old girl was impressed with how long I was swimming and commented I'll have a six pack by the end of summer if I keep it up! I can dream!27

My waist is now below 1 metre diameter33
-
I was pretty chuffed with 10 full press ups this morning. Last week it was just 5. Yuss!20
-
My scrub pants have been getting so baggy I was worried they were gonna start slipping off. My fiance was going to the store this morning and I, half asleep, asked him to pick some up "just a size lower than whatever's in the laundry." When I got up for my shift tonight, I saw that he had gotten a size L for me (no more Xs!) and when I put them on, they're still really roomy! I'm gonna treat myself to some new sets of Medium scrubs once I hit my June goal. So stoked to be out of plus size scrubs!!37

100 day logging. And (scale related I know) dropped down a stone number. Weight now starts with 11 not 12 woooo32
-
7.30am.
- 18-mile bike ride completed (saw the sun rise)
- C25K run with my son completed (we ran 40 minutes today and covered 3.75km)
Breakfast then strawberry picking. Then a second breakfast of yummy strawberries (although that may be the third breakfast - okay, then, elevensies - as second breakfast may just occur in the strawberry fields. The owners do expect that as they charge each person who goes into the fields)

I got out of bed this morning....seriously, it's the small things right?46

My most recent NSV is hitting a major bump in the road and not letting it derail me entirely and making a rather speedy comeback. This has been unheard of from me for many, many years. Anything, absolutely anything, was an excuse to eat, drink and be miserable. No longer. That is one BIG NSV for me right there.
Also, yesterday I was thinking about how I don't feel ashamed and exposed anymore. I am now at a weight that I don't stick out like a sore thumb. I used to be so self-conscious of, not only busting out of my clothes but, knowing that the state of the inside of my head was plastered all over the outside of my body.34 -
I really enjoyed my all you can eat meal at Cosmo yesterday.
Up 1lb today (1st gain in 6 months) but my NSV is that after reading so much on here, I now know that it is unlikely to be fat and may be water retention from alllll the carbs and salt eaten yesterday. Will wait til next week and see, but then tis TOM, so may be a couple of weeks before I get another scale victory. And I am fine with that!
and ran 4.1km in 25 mins this morning. Loving C25K
Edited to amend to 4.1km, mis-remembered!24 -
I ate a candy bar and it wasn't even that great. I could have gone without... yay changing taste buds! It's amazing what clean eating does to your body22
-
I'm wearing a pair of jeans and a dressier top today, last summer I could not button the jeans and the top was very tight. Today they both fit comfortably!25

Didn't eat the cake for a co-worker's retirement. Not because I probably could have logged it and moved on, but because I decided store bought sheet cake was not worth the calories I was saving for a nice dinner with husband tonight! Self-control FTW!
Also, all my new pants (a few weeks old) are loose now- time to make a Goodwill trip.32 -

Darn, you found me out. I've managed to fool everyone so far. Even had my children convinced that I was a witch so that they wouldn't discover the secret of the hair on my toes and why I walk barefoot most of the time . . .
We picked 4kg (9lb) of strawberries. We had them for elevensies, lunch and dinner. We skipped afternoon tea and supper today. The strawberries were extremely scrummy18
