This thread was created for us to (1) pick a team name, (2) pick a team captain, (3) most importantly for us to keep up with the daily/weekly challenges as well as the points! Also to encourage each other when we need it the most!!!

    Perfect! I just tried sending you all messages but this looks easier. I don't have strong opinions - my high school colors were purple and white and we were the Panthers, but I'm definitely eager to hear any creative ideas from you gals. Maybe we should have a name that reflects our fitness/weight loss goals?

    the challenge is currently closed but we are looking for back ups just in case some one decides to back out. do a search for "lot to lose challenge" and it should take you to the orginial topic and you can post there. :happy:

    I was leaning toward Sassy Shakedown but am fine with whatever the rest of y'all like. Since we don't really know each other yet, it's a little hard to vote on a leader - I suggest that someone nominate themselves. I'm not interested at the moment but willing to do it if no one else wants to.

    If, and i do mean IF, the other ladies dont want to be team captain then i will do it. As for a name it doesnt matter to me. :bigsmile: just happy to be doing this.

    Week 1 challenge from Jen:

    Just as a refresher:
    We will base everything on a points system:
    For every mile that you run/walk/bike/swim/etc, you will earn 10 points for your team.
    For daily nutrition challenges - each person on your team that completes the challenge will earn an additional 5 points for your team
    For daily exercise challenges - each person on your team that completes the challenge will earn an additional 10 points for your team

    Every day, the team captains will need to send me their team's total points for the day. I will maintain a spreadsheet for everyone to monitor the progress of the challenge.

    For the exercise challenges - You choose if you use weights or not. This is all about pushing yourself to do something that you wouldn't ordinarily do, BUT we don't want anyone getting hurt. The main idea is to go DISTANCE. The Nutrition & Exercise challenges are EXTRA.

    ::::Week 1 Challenges::::
    Friday
    Nutrition - Under Calories
    Exercise - 50 Crunches
    Saturday
    Nutrition - At LEAST 10 cups (8oz) of water
    Exercise - 50 Windshield Wipers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omeqA3O4DUk
    Sunday
    Nutrition - Under Sodium
    Exercise - 50 Woodchops (25 on each side) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBG7tzX0aT0
    Monday
    Nutrition - Under Calories

    I have a question about the way to tally points. I do water aerobics at least 2 times a week for an hour. I have no clue how many miles that is but I know it's a great workout.

    Hi, ladies. Here are my numbers so far today (I still have my date with Jillian late night so will complete the crunches then, you can count it as a yes).
    Miles = 3.0
    Nutrition Under Calories = Yes
  • 50 crunches- Yes
    under calorie goal- yes

    Those crunches gave me a nice burn.

    i would say its probably 3 or 4 miles per workout. what days do you do them?
