A 12 year old friend of my daughters noticed that i've lost weight.
When a child notices, I think thats a sign that its obvious.
Made me feel good, and gave me a confidence boost for the day.

Tried on size 14 jeans in my closet and they fit! A little tight, and I didn't try to sit. But after several years of size 16/18 (US), I see progress!30

Went to Point Pelee and walked the boardwalk, pushing my mother in her wheel chair. I started a little ahead of my husband and kids and they said it was hard to catch up to me, that I was going too fast. Last year I would have been hesitant to start the 1km walk for fear that I couldn't complete it.
While walking on the treadmill, I've started to add in some short bursts of jogging. Not long (minute max) or very fast, but I'm finding it hard to just walk on it now.34 -
After wearing my wedding ring on a different finger for several years, I am finally able to wear it on the correct finger! :-)

I'm finally back on Facebook after 6 months break. I've been posting pics and im loving the feedback. One of my friends that I haven't seen or spoken to for years now, saw my photo and sent me a message complimenting my weight loss. She said I looked completely different. Even my co-worker that I see everyday, in the middle of taking my photo, she stopped and said "omg your waist is so small" .
I just wish my hips were smaller too. I'll just keep working at it.25 -
I have been size 18 pants over the years.
Today was a weird thrift store shopping spree for new (to me) work clothes. I needed dress pants. I started with 10s because I have lost weight and knew that my 8 jeans fit me.....I ended up with sizes 4 and 6 pants, and x-small/small tops.
I also wore shorts in front of a person yesterday for the first time since high school.34 -
Finally measured myself for a new bra size...discovered my old sports bras are 6" too long.23

Had a number of weeks where I had a hard time staying within calories, but weighed in and only gained 1 pound , before I would have said oh well and kept on eating, Now I am happy only 1 pound and back on track32

Congratulations on stopping the binge when you did! I struggle mightily all day long if I lose control in the morning. I would consider that a big NSV. :-)JeromeBarry1 wrote: »My most recent was last Saturday. I had fallen off the wagon hard early in the morning and consumed 3000+ calories of peanut butter cookies and tortilla chips. I decided to burn 'em all. When I got my bike out and strapped on the helmet, I realized that for the second time in this 17+ month effort I needed to tighten the head strap. Yes, my fat has fled my head.

Just realising I've been stringing together whole days of staying within my calorie budget! I'm usually perfect from breakfast through lunch, but dinner onwards is where things get a little iffy. Too big of portions, munchies or grabbing something with friends after we've already had dinner. But aside from a few treats here and there that I have counted for, things have really been coming into line. I think it helps that my husband and I are pretty routine, we don't go out a lot, and we're both creatures of habit, so once those healthier habits are established it's easier to keep with them. On another note, I just started back working at a bakery, and so far I've kept with my goal of no nibbles at work, even though they've constantly been offered!21

A few for me:
Yesterday, it was so hot and humid, and I had to walk back and forth to the classroom and my office throughout the day. It was noticeable how comfortable I was in the heat compared to last summer, when I was about 40 lbs heavier and, at that point, had already lost 80 total. It's so different being in a body that can work like it is supposed to instead of it having to deal with so much extra weight.
I notice how much stronger I am and how much energy I have: I have spent the entire day working on my library -- from 9 AM to just now, almost 11 PM. (I wonder how many calories you burn putting together furniture? And getting lost in Ikea? And continuously wandering around Home Depot? [I always manage to end up as far away as possible from the things I need.]) Some of this stuff is heavy; even getting things out of boxes and the packaging is a feat, and it's not easy to put some stuff together or hang shelves, etc from a wall by myself. But, I did it! Plus, it's pretty fantastic to be creating my own space.
Edit: no idea why that stuff is italicized. The font has a mind of its own.

I've been flaky with my logging the past few months and just maintaining. I have been doing great logging and exercising all week. Then yesterday afternoon a wildfire started in the next valley over and quickly spread over the hill to about a mile from my house. I got a call to be prepared to evacuate so skipped my workout, wrangled the cats, loaded the car, and glued myself to the the TV and internet. The fire was under control by the evening. We got word that everyone was safe and no structures were damaged this morning. About this time I am thinking about my MFP log and how I had not filled it out. I think to myself what a scary and stressful day I had. I don't need to log. Then I caught myself mid excuse, opened up MFP and logged the rest of my day. I was over 700 calories, but I logged every single one. No excuses!41

I must have developed a different outlook. I wanted to go to a BodyPump class this morning but got the time wrong and missed the class. Instead of moping, I decided to go to a later Zumba class. In the past, I would have blown this off and skipped exercise entirely!23

I was getting teased a lot by my co-workers about the way my pants were fitting all this week at work. And when I say teased, I mean every time I got up and walked around they said something. Some said things like "you're pants are going to fall off" or "hey, you! Diaper butt!" It was a little rough. Reminded me of elementary and middle school even though I know my co-workers mean well.
I went to the store today and found out that I am two pant sizes down, one shirt size down and took a picture of myself in the mirror, texted my sister and said, "Look how thin I am!" I never would have said that in the past.
Even though I am 88 lbs. away from my goal, I consider this a huge NSV because my mental thought processes and self-image has changed. Do I need work? Sure. But I no longer see myself as an ugly fat person. I see myself as a beautiful work in progress.49 -

Tried on my Mount Gambier moleskin pants, last time I wore these was after I lost weight for my brothers wedding, about 18 years ago. I could do them up, had to lie down to undo them, but a couple more weeks and I'll be able to use them27

Ran my first Peachtree Road Race (1:04:14) with lots left in the tank at the end. I will certainly be better prepared next year and not hold back so much till the end. Started running last October so pretty proud of my accomplishment. :-)29

Got my mom and dad (who is pre-diabetic and needs to lose a significant amount of weight) on myfitnesspal! Without doing or saying anything I might add. My loss led them to ask how I was doing it, and next thing I know my dad's asking how to log this or that.
I'm very happy. I love them both to bits and if this means my dad lives a longer life than he would have otherwise because of diabetes..... well, that's a great gift indeed.66 -

That is the best nsv I have heard. My dad is badly negatively affecting his health by his weight and i would do anything to see him start losing weight.20 -
Going to see my doc on Tuesday for an annual check up and I can't wait Last time I saw her back in mid April I was 10 pounds heavier ( with the clinic scale) and bp was still elevated. I was hoping to be in the 140s by the time I saw her but thanks to the monthly changes, I'm retaining water due to ovulation. I don't drop pounds until during or after my TOM which has been consistently been the first week of every month for the past 3 months. You know, I think I should request for my doctor to start taking my measurements, since I notice more progress with my measurements19

That'sa great idea! Also, if you started a weight trending app, you could show it to your doctor. Best of luck, and congratulations on your loss so far!

I have tracked everything I've eaten this week. Sometimes I didn't want to, and I've consistently been above my calorie goal - but I'm really proud that I've tracked EVERYTHING. It's a start for sure! Also - I made an appointment to get an annual check up for the first time in 3 years. I'm still embarrassed and nervous to go - but I'm finally taking control of my health and making health a priority.38

This is a NSV. I like greek yogurt, but I don't like paying for greek yogurt. I don't like paying for Halo Top either, but this is about greek yogurt. I learned in internet research that some people make yogurt with powdered milk. I put 1 and 1 together and wondered if I could make greek yogurt with powdered milk. All I have to do to get greek yogurt is make regular yogurt and drain the whey, or, make extra thick milk from doubling the powder component and just make yogurt regularly with double the protein of regular yogurt. Yesterday I did the experiment of doubling the powder input to make milk, and then went through the normal process of making yogurt. At first my ferment failed but I attempted a recovery by reheating the milk and re-inoculating it. The final product is a reasonably thick, creamy, and mildly delicious cheap yogurt with 7 grams of protein in a 4 oz bowl. WIN!30

I rock climb and the harness rubs on itself between my thighs.... Until yesterday! Woop woop33

I've been a UK size 12 my whole adult life, sometimes a 14 or medium in coats and jackets! Today I realised I needed a new coat, I decided to try on a size 10, I don't know why.. I assumed there was no way it would fit.. But it fit!! And comfortably! So pleased and of course I bought it! my first NSV30

Never thought of myself as having particularly large ankles, nor did I really consider the fact that I would see weightloss in that area, but last night I put on some shoes that buckle around the ankle and I had to go down a hole. Like a belt!! It was so weirdly surprising that I told my husband about it.30

This morning shopping for an outfit for both the kids, I spied summer dresses clearance at walmart, tried on the 7-9 (teens or juniors) fitted nice but didn't like the color, they had a 3-5 in a prettier color and I said to my hubby, "I know it's not going anywhere near me, but I'll try it anyway ", IT FIT!!! Only part that was not fitting right was the boobs, I didn't purchase it but it sure was a great feeling.22

I usually cut myself some slack on Sundays with calories and exercise. I'm ok with going over a little bit and not hitting 10k for just one day. Today, I enjoyed the bagel and cream cheese that was brought to Sunday school (I only ate half), went with friends to our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch, and enjoyed some Netflix bingeing this afternoon.
The NSV?
I was driving home from church tonight, starving because it was almost 8:00 and I hadn't had dinner yet. I started debating what I should have for dinner, with fast food being the easiest option since I didn't have anything planned. I went down the list of the MANY places that are on my drive home and NOTHING sounded good. Everything I thought of just wasn't worth the calories. Instead, I went home, cooked my dinner and only went a little over my calorie budget for the day.
I never thought I'd see the day where a nice juicy burger and fries wouldn't sound appetizing.36 -
When I was in middle school, there was a popular clothing store at the mall that all the girls at school shopped at called 5-7-9. They only carried sizes 5-9. I remember being devastated and embarrassed that I was too big to shop there. I'm not even sure if that store is around anymore but I recently realized that now that I am a size 4 (for the first time ever in my life), I would be too small to shop there!38
