I've always been heavy. Anywhere from 70-100 pounds overweight. So as everyone (who is heavy) knows plane flights are not something to look forward to. I didn't need to buy a second seat or use a seat belt extender but the flight was uncomfortable.
I didn't realize when I was heavier that I would always put the things that I wanted acces to during the flight in the seat back pocket in front of me. Things like my phone, computer, reading material and even snacks.
Last month I took a flight and immediately knew that I had extra room in the seat. I wasn't encroaching into the seat next to me. That was obvious. But what wasn't obvious was that I didn't pull the things that I may have wanted during the flight from my back pack beforehand. I had put my backpack on the ground under the seat in front of me. If I needed something I just bent over and reached down. Before I would've had to try and grab my back pack with my feet and do a weird sideways reach all the while I'm huffing and puffing and maybe even breaking a sweat from a self imposed embarrassment. Oh and in addition, what wasn't included in the things that I would take on a flight were snacks. I can go for a few hours on a flight without having to snack on something.
What a great feeling that is.
I know too well that desperate fight to get my purse from under the seat using my legs. I know my next flight will be my most pleasant after losing 30 lbs.1 -

Also, PMS symptoms are reduced. I used ALWAYS know my period was coming, because I was bloated, grumpy, hungry, etc. Now I have been surprised by it a couple of times. On the downside, someone else mentioned that you can't drink as much! So, I've had to pretty much eliminate alcohol so I don't have to suffer the next day.
"only lost 21"? 21 pounds is awesome!6 -

Last time I got on a bike, I had just lost 50lbs. I was so proud of myself for being able to ride it to the end of the street to get my daughter off the bus that day. Unfortunately, I still weighed 360lbs, and my legs hurt so badly the next day that I couldn't get up from a chair. I never got the bike out of the barn again.
Yesterday, my daughter got a new bike for her birthday. I decided, "What the Hell, it can't be worse than last time." So I pulled out my bike, blew up the tires, oiled the chain, and rode up and down the street with her. It was so easy! Mind you, I'm 220lbs now, and regularly walk 5 miles or more 3-4 times a week.
This morning I decided to ride my bike to the park I usually do my walking in. 12 miles later, I've rode my bike to the park, rode my normal walking route, and rode home from the park. AND MY LEGS AREN'T EVEN SORE!!!
SO freaking awesome, I tell you!104 -

I have noticed how salty some things taste to me these days also! I have found some foods I used to love taste very off (either too sweet or too salty). Saves me those calories for something else!8 -

I am weird, I started liking frosting now that I have lost weight. I used to scrape it off, now I want more of it. It doesn't make me happy.6 -

Hahaha!!! I still have that problem with clothing sizes.
Unexpected problems (but not really):
Bras, I shrank everywhere. But, on the plus side - because of weight lifting, my skin tightened up and I can wear those cheam flimsy bralettes, yay!!!
Jeans. Want to know what happens when you lift weights (and heavy weights too): your waist shrinks down to a size 29 in jeans, but because now I have actual quads and glutes (muscular butt and thighs), my jeans have to be a 31 for my legs to fit. Sonnofa...
Shoes. My feet freaking shrank!!!
Laundry: the endless laundry that is gym clothes, seriously how can soccar shorts and tank tops take up 95% of my laundry.18 -

I just started my journey yesterday and the moment your talking about happened to me for the first time last week. I saw a plastic chair that looked rather comfortable and opted for the hard metal bench because I was afraid I would break the plastic one.....4 -

Same here. Heartburn is completely gone!4 -
I went in to get two suits resized and was told this was too great of an alteration. So I have two suit donations to look forward to for next year's tax deductions and two new suits to purchase.
Best money I've ever spent on clothing.
Tax deduction, huh? So clearly you don't wear the cheap *kitten*
$20 is $20: That's like 5 good craft beers.

My Scottish heritage would term this as "thrifty". My wife calls it cheap

That I would no longer be taking so many ibuprofen for daily pain13

Spring is when I take a lot of weekend/long-weekend trips. Now, at 120-some pounds rather than 180-some pounds, I can take a smaller suitcase for the same length trip, or have a partially-full rather than stuffed suitcase.
I never dreamed that the physical volume of post-weight-loss clothes would be so much smaller!
I often have a MORE stuffed suitcase from bringing workout gear along with normal stuff. Adding another pair of shoes (Running) can use up some space.10 -
I was putting on deodorant this morning (rock salt crystal thing), and accidentally slammed it into my ribcage under the arm 'pit'. Who knew there was actually a cavity there, that had ribs under the skin?!
Also, I am A LOT more protective of my mental happy space. I am okay with saying no to events that I know will cause me anxiety and stress (which might lead to binge eating). I've got to protect me, even if others don't understand, or aren't happy with my choice.31 -
Started to exercise due to health issues that've serious enough to scare my wife and kids. Was not serious about it at the beginning frankly. Just want to show them that I tried. If the result is not what they or the doc were expecting then it is what it is.
Almost a week after ditching high carb and doing interval training, I felt light headed everyday. I thought the current blood pressure med was not going to cut it and was prepared to see my family doc again for upping the does. Then it turned out that I was feeling oozy because the blood pressure dropped to normal too fast.
Within 2 weeks, I finally ditch high blood pressure med for the first time in 7 years (with doctor permission). My knees are no longer aching. Not as worry about toring my legament from playing with my boy.
The new change has its dark side though. I felt sore all the time from previous day's cardio training. It did get easier but the soreness never really goes away. I really want the 'forbidden foods'. Fried stuff, rice, white bread. I can live without them but the meals felt incomplete. Can't really eat them on cheat day either, else it'll turn to cheat year again.
These are probably the most noteworthy one from me.21 -

I remembered that there is a point when you go from invisible to receiving attention. I forgot about how unsettling some of that is. I remember having some strategies for dealing with unwanted attention, but I am out of practice, and feeling quite vulnerable at the moment... Not to say that there isn't good, affirming people noticing and being supportive and complementary and so forth- but there is so much creeping...21

This was weird for me even though i've read that it has happened to loads of you too. Tried on a pair of pumps in my usual size and felt they were a bit lose, so I tried the next size down and they fit. So I bought them... always been a size 6 sometimes a 7, first time a 57

I don't have enough workout clothes to keep up with my programme (or I dont Do laundry often enough...).
In never though I'd be that consistent an exerciser22 -
That I would have a lot more doors held for me and many more people talking to me. Always the question is it because I am much fitter or because I am I have more confidence in myself. I guess it could be the combination of both. It is nice but also sad for the old me.17

Mines odd, but I look better than I ever thought I would.23
