Today I managed to run further than I ever have before without taking a walking break.
Also managed to eat a proper full English breakfast (sausage, egg, bacon, black pudding, hash brown, beans, fried mushrooms and tomatoes) and astonishingly, didn't go over on calories for the day33 -
Yesterday I took the advice of the wonderful folks on here, ran a slower pace than I'm used to in order to keep my breathing in check...and because of that, I made it all the way up the huge hill in my neighborhood without stopping to gasp for air!!! I've been trying to get up that hill for almost a year.53

Reading these non-scale victories is a lot more motivating than the scale victories are. I need to get my heart in better condition for teaching, (I sigh a lot during lecture, apparently) so the people who are achieving better conditioning are really motivating me right now.
As for me, I actually worked out today, and did not buy ice-cream at the store yesterday. I have a long way to go, but I know I'll get there.37 -

1) I finally got up the courage to use the squat rack (empty bar) at my gym! I now can squat, deadlift, OHP, and bench with AT LEAST the empty bar! Improvement from when I started with 5lb dumbbells
2) A co-worker who belongs to the same gym I do but doesn't go, looked at me this morning and said "Man, I need to get to the gym again because it's obviously working!"
Hey, that bar weighs 45lbs. That's awesome!!!! And for #2, yes, yes it does.16 -
I showered in the open showers. Noone else was in the changing room and I panicked every time I thought I heard the main door. But I did it!
Yay greater body confidence! or greater not giving a toss about what other people think - either way a win!35 -
and....just got my first, 'are you still losing? there'll be nothing left of you!'
have 2-3 stone to go, but THANKS!! hehe30 -
i fell of the bandwagon a little bit and realised that i was still self sabotaging my weight loss.
So i was pondering for a bit and realised that it is okay just to hang in the same weight for a little bit and eat maintenance.
As long as i don't gain it is fine. Sometimes your mind needs to adjust and get used to the new lifestyle.

I had my one-on-one with my supervisor yesterday, and her chairs have fairly high armrests. I noticed when I sat in one that my whole body, plus my arms, fit between the armrests. That was super weird and rather a small thing to notice, but it was awesome nevertheless!32

Finally fitting into a smaller size pants for the first time since I started losing. Such a confidence booster!!27

Now that I have my thin face back, I'm chopping all of my hair off again. Loved having short hair but when I gained weight it highlighted how round I had gotten. This is an NSV I've been putting off for several weeks...I keep fearing I will gain the weight back again.32

It looks like I'm now the Fitness expert on weight loss at my job. I've convinced 1 colleague to sign up on MFP and she wants her daughter to join MFP as well. My co-workers are reaching out to me for advise on how to lose weight. They are shocked when i tell them what i eat and i still lose the weight. Also, that i'm able to lose with just walking and no gym. Aboslutely no food restrictions just moderation, keep track of intake, walking and commitment to my goal.28

I got it from my mother after I told her how much I have lost. I was expecting it but not when I still have 40 to go to get into the top of the healthy range17 -
Not sure if this counts since it is semi in the future, but I am going on vacation in a few weeks and this is the first time that I am not really worried about food or 'being on a diet.' For the first time, I see this as a lifestyle change rather than a diet. In the past, the first mention of vacation would fill me with dread for one of two reasons depending on where I was in relation to food. Now, it's just food and I am the one in control, not it.36

Fashion NSV, I've been going to H&M clothing store to try out their size 10 slacks work pants. 3 months ago I could barely pull up the pants. Last month , it was a struggle to zip up the pants and today the size 10 pants fit without any pulling. Score 1: for the pear shapes out there. My starting hip measurement: 48in. My current: 44.5in I need to lose 4 more inches to be an official size 10.21

Joined a triathlon team and learned I could survive their gridiron (It is very humbling)
Set a new maximum heart rate, up 3 beats per minute from last recorded high
Set a new resting heart rate, lowest recorded since my 30s
Had to throw away my old belt and get a smaller one
No more 'un-tucked shirt of denial'23 -
I did a handstand. Okay so I needed the wall to help me get up because I'm afraid of just flopping over and bruising my tailbone. But, I got up then moved away from the wall. Held it for about 30 seconds then came down. Then did a few more just because I could.41

Being able to buckle the seatbelt in my sister's car without struggling to get it to click. And I'm only 12 pounds down!32

Tonight I went through my closet and tried everything on. The only stuff hanging in my closet fits well. This is a small act of self love. Nothing too big and more importantly, nothing too small.29

And she will, because it's seriously addictive.
And she did, even though she moaned that her legs were still hurting. More effective post-run stretching required, methinks! And slower running . . . .
2) Moving onto cycling news:
I have worn out the chain and rear sprocket on my bike. My bike and I have traveled 5,500 miles together. My husband was "I cannot believe how worn out that chain was" until I pointed out to him how many miles it's done
I will also need new brake blocks on the rear again fairly soon.
And my hands are so much thinner now that they are swimming around in my cycling gloves. My gloves used to be a snug fit.

Sitting with my legs crossed OH MY GODS.
I carry my weight in my thighs and hips; it has been impossible for me to cross my legs for about twenty years, because either I just couldn't get my knee high enough to clear my fat thigh, or if I did it just kind of slid off, or my stomach got in the way. A couple of months ago I was just sitting on the sofa, and I suddenly realised that... I'd crossed my right leg over my left... and it was SO COMFORTABLE.
Now I sit with my legs crossed all the time. I'm doing it now. This will never get old.48 -
I went to a group run yesterday. After run with beers I got mistaken for in my 20s I am in my 40s.32

Yesterday while standing in line at Chipotle, which had the solid line direction things (not sure what they are called) I impulsively decided to see if I could hold my weight with my arms on the direction things and I could. And then did it again and once more trying to see if I could pull my legs up. The legs went up, not thighs parallel to the ground, but definitely up. There may have been a couple of strange looks, but most people were intently staring at their phones or in conversation.22

I did the linear leg press for the first time since I started going back to the gym. No weight were added to it, but the machine itself was 103lbs. I am 113lbs. So I pretty much did 3 sets close to my body weight!
Also, my favorite sweat pants fit me again. No more pulling them up or clutching on the sides while I am running errands woohoo!20 -
I really enjoy the NSVs and over the last couple of days, have read the whole thread. I'm only 23 days on MFP and have lost only 5 lbs. I don't have any NSVs so far, but looking forward to being able to post my first one.34

When on holiday I finally went through the 40k steps ceiling on a hike in the Scottish highlands The views were magnificent and I had a great time The 40K badge on my fitbit was a nice bonus33
