What nobody tells you about losing weight

That your "keep the belly smaller than the boobs" maxim gets significantly harder to maintain when you lose 70 lbs and finish weaning your 4th baby.18

Or when your body decides that your boobs are going to be the first place you lose fat... seriously, not the thighs or belly!13 -
How much TALLER I feel now that I'm thinner (and I'm 6ft tall, lol)14

Making sure your legs stay crossed in a skirt because you no longer have thighs to block a view up your skirt.
When you forget that you're shrinking and decide to wear a shirt you own because it's really cute! But now if you lean over, because it's loose, cleavages everywhere!!!21 -
That you will get so irritated when you use calories on something and it turns out blech! I decided to have one of those bite size Reese's cups during a meeting - the bowl was sitting on the table in front of me - so I peel it open, and I want savor that chocolate, peanut buttery goodness. It was STALE!! So irritating! Granted its only 45 calories, but those are MY 45 calories darn it!
Yes! And its so disappointing when you save your calories for a special restaurant meal and it turns out to be not as great as you'd hoped. It may still taste good, but if I want to spend my calories on something like that I want it to be amazing!

Thank you for pointing that out ! I have just checked my legs and I should indeed be cautious !!!!!

How the other *kitten* sides of your life become unbearable. How can you keep the other terrible habits when you have such a positive experience with getting rid of the rolls ?
I have lost weight. I have quit my job . I have moved out of my apartment. I have quit smoking. I have god rid of annoying friendships. I have solved issues with my family. I have tackled my alcohol issue. LIFE IS FABULOUS NOW113 -
- being able to move with ease.
- The first time in an age, that I was able to lie down in the bath.
- feeling the fight within me grow, I love this feeling, strong, determined and confident.26 -

Yes! I used to be such a procrastinator when it came to life goals, or think that doing what I wanted to do was impossible. I have given both of those ways of thinking up in favor of a diving-in-there-and-getting-my-hands-dirty mentality. Learning as I go!15 -

I have been experiencing this a bit too, and I am not sure if it is the weight loss or getting older and NGAF or whatever, but I am much more likely to assert myself more in situations. I am going to be tough to handle when I reach my goal weight! LOL.14 -
That seeing your progress can be addictive. I was constantly wanting to take new progress pictures and I actually cried last night when I realized the album I had on my phone with all of my progress pictures was deleted somehow (still cant figure out how, still sad) Luckily I posted one on here, was able to find it and so I have my very first one, but thats the best I can get.13

Now this is interesting...I'm 5'1" and people tell me all the time I look shorter after losing weight! Like, people I've always known have stopped to look at me and said "Damn - were you always this short?" LOL
But I think they're right. I feel much more petite in general, since losing weight.
ETA: MFP cut off the last two lines of my original post - added them back in. :-)12 -

I love this so much! Congratulations! You are my hero.9 -
That it is apparently catching. My husband was so impressed with not only my success, but how much I learned about myself and my body on my journey, that he bought a FitBit and downloaded the MFP app. He is down a few lbs, but also eating and feeling MUCH better. His coworkers noticed...so now they both downloaded the app. Both my kids now have a FitBit and we have 'competitions' about healthy stuff. I always covertly try to log so my family didn't feel that I was judging what they ate. But, you can't argue with weighing the same as you did in college 25 years ago and feeling 10 years younger (vs. 10 years older)31

Also that it can be discouraging when your spouse cant see your progress immediately, but I cant see it myself so I cant blame him. But how encouraging it is when you can proudly say how much you have lost so far, and your husband is amazed. I've lost 35 and our dog is 28, he picked her up and said "you lost more than this already that is amazing! I had no idea you lost that much already!" so that was cool, getting to actually feel how much I have lost, even if the dog didnt enjoy being picked up37

It goes by so fast... but SOOOO slow at the same time!36
