    Total 119.15 of 120 Miles

Almost stretched today's run out another mile but once i got back to the house the sun was starting to heat up and I decided to pack it in. Still the longest run since the marathon and my weekly mileage is up to a bit over 36, so i'm about 2/3 of the way back to my 55 mile a week base i want to get to by November. Average HR was down a few BPM and Pace was down another 3 sec per mile. I also wanted to lose 10 LBS this month and it looks like that will happen by the end of the month. Now just have to lose another 15 by November and i'll be back to my weight i ran the majority of my training miles last summer. Ideally i'd like to lose another 15 on top of that and race at about 165lbs. Just not sure i can realistically do that an still put in up to 70 miles a week. I almost felt I was on a seefood diet last summer trying to eat 10-11 days worth of food a week. Getting to 3500 calories a day of good healthy food was tough, so i ate alot of donuts :) Unfortunately when i stopped running i still ate the donuts

@skippygirlsmom if you and Skip are ever in the Canadian rockies drop me a line! @juliet3455 would probably know way cooler places to run than I would but you know, I'd bring myself and an absurd amount of gear to the table :D

@MNLittleFinn may I suggest Fat Dog 120 as a qualifier since thats the one I plan to run in 2019 lol. Which one are you gunning for?! I am pretty sure next year I'll run LSU 100 to (hopefully) qualify for a bid in the WS lottery

Fat Dog is actually on my list. I remember you mentioning it and had looked it up. In actuality, 2019 is more likely for that one, or maybe CDR... you really are a bad influence. If October goes well, this will be my goal race next year: https://www.superiorfalltrailrace.com/100-mile-info/

I'm only a 50 minute drive to parts of the trail, and it's a WS100 qualifier.

Hand to God @MNLittleFinn if you register for CDR I will solo it with you! Bring the pain!

Some of the roots on the Superior 100 photo gallery look like the stuff of dreams/nightmares. Since its so close that makes sense! Lost Souls 100 is down in Lethbridge so only 7 hours away lol #reasonsmyhusbandhatesmyracechoices

@PastorVincent sounds dangerous, will probs require extra rest days ;)

@sarahthes we are seriously living ideal long run weather right now. Hoping the snow takes as long to fly this year as the almanac is predicting!

@RespectTheKitty 5.5 miles is awesome- marathoning and ultramarathoning aren't the end all and be all of running! I have to run on the very early side to make my life happen like I've mentioned before so I 100% sympathize with the time crunch, its frustrating. You got out there, you got it done, yay you!
@JessicaMcB nice run, you went ultra distance on a training run! What did you have in your pack? 15# seems like a lot of stuff? All I carried was 2 water bottles with Tailwind mixed in, that I refilled about halfway, from the jug I had stashed.

Keeping it real here...I run with an obscene amount of stuff because I'm neurotic that way. 2L of water, a given. Two USB battery chargers? But of course! First Aid kit? Obvs. Complete change of clothing with a jacket? ...Yes. KT Tape and Body Glide and a bottle of Elete and a head lamp in the middle of the day and- STOP JUDGING ME :D ! Haha! On the positive side all that money my mom spent on Girl Guides paid off because I am always prepared!

So, it a minimalist runner???? No Wonder your so fast at marathons. You're 15# lighter....lol. I took my headlamp off and put it with my jug as soon as it was light enough to see. All I had, in addition to my bottles, was a credit card and my ID.

I like to pretend I practice perpetual resistance training but in reality OCD issues are what they are. When I lead trail group and people realize the sheer volume of shenanigans I carry around they are generally a little horrified in the vein of, "Jessica you don't NEED a full first aid kit though." ...Uhhh but what if I DO?! Now hurry tf up! Haha ;)

My wilderness first aid/trauma kit isn't small enough to run with.....

I honestly think it would be cool if our trail building committee would put really comprehensive first aid packs on all the trail switch areas since its impossible to carry everything you could potentially need if you really wrecked yourself. Sadly no one else is as worried about this as I am lol. In fairness to them they are all freaking out about the big cat calls in the area lately (cougars and bob cats) and, as evidenced by my spending hours out there alone :D , am not so worried about it.

Runner priorities are all over the place in this county I guess! Haha

I just finished a wilderness first aid certification and commented on the amount of stuff I need to add to my pack. The instructor mentioned he has everything in a Nalgene bottle except for a SAM splint. I am working on collecting and making a first aid kit that is small and light. That means questioning whether to carry valuable thinks that may or may not get used and are heavy; such as a CAT.

Still traveling, and once again limited to a cart path. The plan was to do more, and pretty sure I could have, but quit so I could shower for a breakfast meeting. Should still get a couple more runs in before month-end, so pleased to be exceeding goal. I wasn't going for speed today, but was fairly pleased to see that my HR seemed to stay in a lower, more comfortable range than it has been. Guess that's improved fitness?
