18lbs, but gained 5lbs the first 2 weeks of August, then lost it. It would've been about 26lbs but that's my 4 month goal now haha. 28lbs total!2

I see your point and I agree.
You must understand that I "used to" define full as in eating every meal as if it were my last Thanksgiving and that I would never eat again.
I now eat like a human being that wants to see 70-80 years old, not just the next meal.
This mantra has seen 35lbs melt away in 4 months and reminds me of how far I have come12 -

37 pounds in the first 3 months! Started at 220 in mid-January and got to 183 by mid-April. Am now at 176 after spending 4 months eating more or less at maintenance and trying to build a small bit muscle.5

I have been at it for 5 months and have lost an average of 7lbs per month. It's nice to see everyone else's responses! Sometimes I get discouraged when I see others have lost way more in the same timeframe.5

I lost about 25-30 lbs the first 3 months and had 150 lose. The last 3 months I lost about 5-10 lbs.
This is fine to ask from curiosity, but do not compare yourself to these numbers. Someone with 100-200 lbs to lose will likely lose alot more in the first 3 months than someone with only 30 to lose. This is because with a large amount to lose, you might lose 2-3 lbs per week the first month or two. But someone with 30 to lost should be losing .5-1 lb per week. Comparison is the thief of joy, from a wise MFP poster.
Glad someone posted this.
Me:
80 lbs in 12 months to reach goal, with weekly loss gradually decreasing, and since then have maintained goal for 16 months. 873 days straight logging.
