Hi all, a rainy and lazy day today. Only time I moved was to drive to the store to get a pizza for supper. But hadn't eaten much today so am still within my 1200 calories. Went down another lb but it's the same lb I've been losing and gaining back and forth each day for the last week. Think I might look for the strength training book. I do some weights at the gym but not sure I'm doing it right. We also have the machines and I try to do a little of that as well. But I'm not consistent and that's the problem. Got to get into some consistent exercise. I just hate to go to the work gym at lunch, sweat and then go back to work. Going to try and do better this month.

Hugs to all you that are struggling right now.

Congrats to everyone who is doing well.

Watching to see if Irma hits Pueto Rico. That's where my mother and sister in law live. Husband is worried I think.

I would strongly recommend that you go to a gynaecologist.

I struggled with all sorts of perimenopause symptoms, and finally got a referral to a gynaecologist and got many things sorted out.

But one of the things I was told is that there are non-hormonal options for hot flashes. One is a serotonin-based option which is both a mild anti-depressant and reduces the hot flashes significantly.

I haven't gone onto that yet, but it is a viable option if things get too bad.

In your case, I'd go to a gynaecologist and ask about it. It might make a world of difference for you.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .

    Good Evening Friends,

Dana, I know changing contents of a fridge and cleaning everything as you go can be exhausting work. Yes, it is exciting to get new things like that. It is something that we rarely do at our age unless an appliance dies on us. Lol We had our carpets cleaned in the entire house two days ago. Before they came we put up everything on the tops of the furniture and moved everything that we could. Talk about work…..I’m doing a deep cleaning as I put things back so I’m still not finished yet. It will get done and then I’ll know it’s all clean for a couple of days anyway. That is what I don’t like about housekeeping. You do all that work and the dust just comes right back.

Joyce, sorry Charlie isn’t doing better. I know what you mean about stubborn men. What is it with them??? *shaking head*

Heather, the grands are just too cute. And that sheep suit on Bea…just precious. (later) oh, another cute sheep. Lol

Today I did more deep cleaning and putting things back in their place after the carpet cleaning. I baked the Chocolate Bran Muffins that I normally eat for breakfast. Oh yes and this morning I made a delicious omelet for DH and me to have for brunch. It was loaded with fresh veggies and turned out delish. That was because I was out of my muffins. Lol I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day and stay safe.

Barbie, thanks for the suggestions. I was walking at lunch until recently but since I've had pain from bone spurs I haven't been walking. I have been doing about 20 min on the bike, some stomach crunches and then some weights. Need to get a routine. I think I should not worry about its what I do but the fact that I'm doing something.

Because, sorry to hear you've had a ad day. I find when I have bad days I just embrace the feelings. Fighting the feelings just makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong that I should stop doing, Tears wash and cleanse the soul. That's why you feel better once you have a good cry. At least that's my theory.

Love all the pics of the kids. I envy you your "tiredness ".

Allie, so good to hear your having some fun. You deserve it girl!

Wendy, I once dyed my hair and it came out Lucille Ball red. I had to go to work that way. This was years ago and people stills remember! I just laughed along with everyone as it was pretty funny. The things we do to ourselves! I'm embracing the grey and loving it!

Off to read and then to sleep. Good night ladies.

Lisa – Love the “Not my circus, not my monkey!”

    Pip – Love the nails!!!!!

Michele – When the OB implanted the embryo, he said it looked really good and he wanted to ‘pray over them AND with them’. They go for the sonogram on Tuesday to hear the heartbeat. DDnL#2 has been journaling this for over a year. We all really feel good about things. While we were there this past week she had an awful sinus infection and broke down and went to the Convenient Care to see her GP. She ‘checked’ with someone and then they did a ‘breathing treatment’ and then gave her a steroid shot and a Rx for steroids. By the time she got home, she was tired and frustrated … 4 hours later. Then she was upset about the medications so she called the PA at the specialist’s office and told her what was going on. She told her to hold off on taking the Rx steroids until she had a chance to talk to the MD and call her back. I think she wanted someone to tell her that she hasn’t done anything to harm the pregnancy or baby. You could tell she was pretty miserable not being able to breathe and the MD (GP that she normally goes to) was telling her they Rx this treatment all the time for pregnant patients. She felt better by the time we left and had not taken the steroid Rx. They’ve worked so hard at getting pregnant and now that she finally is … she is like a ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’. I know that feeling. I think she will feel so much better once she gets to ‘hear’ that heartbeat. I know I will feel better when they do. She told Will that she would do this all over again; but, hopes she doesn’t have to. This time, they went in (no anesthesia) and ‘scraped’ the inside of her uterus to get it ready for the embryo and apparently it worked. They are not going to find out the sex of it and hopefully the sonogram technician won't give it away when that time comes. For a while they 'thought' it might have actually split in two (which would have meant she would have been pregnant with identical twins). But, when they showed it to her they pointed out the head and the body. I laughed and told her that for a while they thought I might be carrying twins with DYS - as whenever he moved it was like he was startled and it was a 4-point landing every time he moved. DOS rolled, a lot!

I do NOT care to get any ‘remarks’ about this procedure – especially if you are against it. Just be ‘happy’ for all of us. Please keep us in your prayers that everything goes well and that DDnL#2's pregnancy is a healthy and happy one and that we'll be grandparents in the spring.

Becca – I know your pain … today when we left the kids, I wanted to ‘cry’; but, didn’t … I know they are 'happy' and Louisiana is ‘home’. Right at the moment, I am not wanting to hear DYS’s or DDnL#2’s voice … I need a few days to ‘let go, and let God’. Praying for a happy, healthy pregnancy and baby. It’s hard when you see her own mother playing favorites and then hearing her justify it. But, she is her “Daddy’s Baby” and he is excited. Her niece who lost a baby at 7 months a year ago, is about to drop a baby within the week (or any day). Everybody has been making such a fuss over it, too. DDnL#2’s pregnancy has certainly taken a back seat so far as her Mother, sister, and niece are concerned. I told her I’d do anything she wanted me to do, I just did not want to ‘step on anyone’s toes’ … especially not her Mama’s; but, she said that when she told her mother about the pregnancy all she said was ‘oh’. MMMmmmm!!! So I guess when we take our TX tour, we will also be waiting to hear, 'the baby's here' or 'it's coming on such-and-such date'. She's got something like 6 more weeks of nightly injections; then, they will turn her over to another 'specialist'.

Terry in VT – I can remember my Mother talking of a friend with ‘red hair’ and someone commented on whether it was natural. A MD in the group said, ‘oh, yeah … it’s natural’. I think a lot of the women in that group stopped going to him. Not the time, nor the place. Small town.
