I think a lot of people do that! I'm sure I've done it myself, too.
Sometimes when I meet up for coffee with friends I'll get black coffee and a pastry (like a cake pop, small cookie or mini scone) and some of them get a large frappuccino or mocha and then drool over my "decadent treat" even saying things like "oh my god I haven't had a cookie in forever that looks amazing" etc. It's not my place to say anything of course, but woof, for the calories in that mocha a person could easily have a large cookie.21 -
The Marketside Cesar Chicken Wrap from Walmart seemed halfway decent when I was out running around. I thought I was being safe quick-adding 500 cals. They just started putting calories on the label...It's 790. I managed to fit it in today since I'm depressed and not eating well, but otherwise, I'll leave them for when I'm not in goal mode.5

Keep these coming. I've got some grocery shopping to do......17

Beer. I used to quick-add it as 100 calories per serving. I was only fooling myself...
Muffins. I used to love muffins.10 -
Thinking I should have a nice healthy bowl of oatmeal instead of bacon for breakfast HA9

and how little five ounces fills the glass.
My MIL uses those huge red wine glasses - the ones you are supposed to put like an inch in - and fills them up. Says “its only one glass of wine - it can't be that much“. Never mind a whole bottle only does two glasses. Lol17 -
Veggie sides at some restaurants. 190 calories for a side of fresh veggies at Texas Roadhouse... WTF?4

Mm, bacon. Though, a serving of good old-fashioned is only 150 calories. It's the additives that pile up the calories (much like any food though).

Ha! That reminds of when I bought some of those glasses and asked my husband to pour me a glass of wine. He filled it to the brim. ::laugh::6 -

Yep, but I wouldn't even consider that it could be the case when ordering veggies (it's more of a problem obviously for places that don't give calorie content).2 -
I worked as a barista a million years ago and we used to call everything in the bakery case "cake" (not in front of the customers, of course). The worst was the "bread", which was actually frosted, but people really did think it was healthier because of the name. And hey, cake is great, but would you really have it for breakfast every day?6 -
even the muffins you buy in the store (Otis Spunkmeyer) - the calorie count is for HALF a muffin - I mean who easts just HALF a muffin!11 -

Anything with the word "Fiesta" in it is by definition NOT low-cal and only very scarcely "healthy" (even if applying the widest possible definition of "healthy").

Things that constantly disappoint me...
- All cereal-based breakfast products. As a teenager I would eat heaped bowls of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (or whatever it's called now). I can't even look at a box now as I know I'd cry. And "healthy" granola and museli gives me rage. There is nothing sadder than seeing an official portion looking all lonely at the bottom of a perfectly normal sized bowl.
- Nuts as snacks. A sensible 20g portion is like 3 cashews or something (exaggerating, but not much). Gives me sadface And don't get me started on honey roast nuts. I want them to be healthy because, you know, good fats! But also all the sugar in the world on just one peanut. Lots of nope.
- Chocolate coated rice cakes. Epic con. Only 80 calories each! Look at me, aren't I healthy! There are 3 in a pack, and clearly if you buy them and open the pack then you'll eat them all. I'd rather have a Mars bar for those calories thanks.
- Fruit juice. Another thing that used to be considered healthy when I was a child. Now it's just my carb allowance down the drain. Someone at work started a "health plan" (ha) fairly recently, which seemed to involve a litre of fresh orange or fresh grapefruit juice a day. He wondered why it wasn't helping him lose weight. Those of us who know a bit more about nutrition had to point him gently in the direction of the nutrition facts panel...12 -
Oreo thins. Not worth the 35 calories.

Ran into this on a package of naan. I thought the calorie count was for one not half of one. So consuming 380 calories instead of 190! I was not a happy camper when I realized my "healthy" homemade pizza was way more calories than I thought.

I thought of another one...
Subway cookies are 200 calories each. Sigh. I love the Oatmeal Raisin ones, but there's so many other things I could eat for 200 calories.4 -

I take the opposite view - a whole bottle of wine for 600 calories? Yes please!29 -

Me too! 600 calories and antioxidants and probiotics plus other micronutrients. win, win, win, win, wine.20 -
Since someone mentioned Subway... I was blown away by how many calories were in a subway sandwich. Since I was eating "healthy" food I'd let myself get a footlong on the flatbread - because it's healthier than regular bread, right? Little did I know that after adding the cheese and Ranch dressing plus all the other extras... that healthy sandwich was almost 1000 calories. Ouch.7

I'm hoping the new US nutrition labels fix stuff like that. No reasonable person would expect the serving to be half of what's in the package. Ridiculous.
Some fruits used to astonish me with how many calories they have for the serving size - particularly bananas. I can easily eat a banana that's over 100 calories. I used to eat 2 or 3 of them, especially if they're nice and brown and sweetly delicious. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised at how few calories per serving berries are.
Bread was another one for me. I was never caught up in the "bread is bad" craze; it always seemed like a healthy thing to eat, especially if it was multi or wholegrain. Imagine my shock when I discovered that so many breads that I though were "healthy" are also 100+ calories per slice. Not saying they're not healthy, but that can easily be half of the calories I eat in a meal. I was very happy when I discovered Sara Lee Delightful. Now I can still eat a sandwich, but I can also pair that sandwich with fruit/veggies/chips for a decently sized meal.1 -
It's VERY easy to find... mostly because I'm in Texas and even grocery stores sell wine and beer. Not the case in all states, though.2 -

There's definitely a few hundred calories of cheese and mayo topping that otherwise sad grilled chicken breast. + the rice (and the shiny glistening oil that the rice was fried in). If you want something lower calorie and with a predictable calorie count, go with steak! It doesn't suck on its own, so restaurant chefs don't need to drench it with added fat to make it palatable.6 -
Yeah juice is definitely one, with the whole thing about people having a glass of orange juice with breakfast in about every single tv show or movie out there, lol. Juice is actually the only thing I basically cut out from my diet (I've had one glass in 4 years). Really annoys me that they suggest taking my iron pill with orange juice... NOT worth the calories at all.
And subway being 'the healthy choice'. lol.
Oh, wraps too. Just as many calories as a sandwich yet they always show as a healthier choice.2 -

I probably would have pulled up the MFP entry for their drink (assuming not posted on the menu board) and quietly slid my phone over to them after that comment.8
