Lanette and Carol ... I checked ours through equifax. My husband's is fine but mine and my sons were "potentially impacted." I just spent a whole month getting our checking account closed and straightened out after Verizon had a huge breach and someone stole out of my checking account ... What a pain! I don't know if I'll freeze our credit reports as we need to stay flexible for college loans for my son and I'd like to consolidate some debt to lower rates since our bank closed and sold our debts to new creditors.0

Allie ... I'm hoping your court appearance is over by now and that you're able to get rid of the headache! Hoping too that your Florida property survived!0

Thanks for the Equifax links.

evening ladies~
well today was a day... Tomcat did not show up, he said his attorney was going but never told him he needed to be there.. (DIP) and it was all over attorney fee's. it ended up that I had to stand in front of the judge with my attorney and his, and answer questions on where I work, how much I make, where Tom works, how much he makes, and disposable income of which I have none, his attorney objected when I asked for 15,000 , but my attorney argues and he has to come up with 10,000 in 2 weeks for attorney fees, TOM told me he has been more than fair and that why does he have to pay another 7500.00 well what he doesnt know is it is 10,000, and Toms attorney only was asking for 3500-5000. but my attorney argued that his attorney basically has blown us off. so he is being held responsible for , m fees and if he doesnt come forward with the motion to compel, which means all financials and insurances, he will be in contempt of court, face jail time and or fines...
everything I think is ok down in florida.. so that is a Godsend,,, but holy cow was I stressed out this morning, I cant wait for this to be over...6 -

Beth - I guess what a pain! I'm going to talk to the folks at our bank tomorrow. I've read pro's and con's to freezing credit, even if it is free for a year. I had a call a week ago that my Sears card could have been compromised so the account closed and issued a new one.
A person can get a free credit report once a year on annualcreditreport.com so I'll check up and see if anything weird pops up. Very aggravating that our finances can be impacted through no fault of our own!
Good luck!

Wendy, good on you for raising bees! I commend you, because truly bees are at the center of everything, pollinating our plants, flowers, and fruits!
You are a young thing at 51! ( I being 55 and such a wise woman haha!). OK awaiting a swat from the matriarch's of this group....

Joyce--Sending lots of HUGS. One day at a time. I am glad you are still here. So many new ones I have trouble keeping up, you are an old friend and I miss you when you are gone. Sounds like you have a nice neighbor.
Pip--Thanks for doing the MS ride. Enjoy the pictures.
Tiffanie--Thanks for sharing your story and welcome to this great group.
Michele-- So sorry how the shower went. Love the cakes. You can hold your head high that you were polite to everyone. People will figure out Maria is all about control. Hugs.
Sharon--Never forget you are prefect just the way you are.
Well I am up to half way thorough page 24. My girl who was in the hospital last week can not come back to work until at least next Monday. So now to cover I do not have a day off until next Monday. Five days of 12 hours and 2 of 8. Don't think I will be doing much else.
Praying for all to stay safe from fire, storms or life. Blessings, Vicki Grand Island, NE5 -

Good afternoon, all.
Allie -- I feel for you. My ex husband wasn't in the courtroom when I testified, either. He was in the courthouse because he was an attorney, but he didn't want to be there. It was one of the hardest things I did, sitting there with all of those people (well, not that many, but still) who worked with my ex-husband, answering questions. But we make it through somehow!
Michelle -- let it all go. I know it's hard because you invested so much physical and emotional energy into the shower, but it's over. I agree with the advice not to expect thanks or praise. What you did, you did for your daughter, and that should be enough. I'm a "don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" kind of person. It makes life much easier and happier.
Welcome to the new faces. I'm also relatively new -- still feel very fresh -- but MFP works and having a group to hold you accountable helps in the process.
We have an uncontrolled field fire burning across the street from campus -- it jumped the road, but thankfully, the wind is pushing it away from campus. As a precaution, they did evacuate that side of campus, in case the wind direction shifts. I don't know how the power lines survive that kind of heat. The flames were jumping high enough to touch the lines. Anyway, I'm back in my office just paying attention to campus alerts. We still have a way out of campus, so I can still get home, assuming the fire is not contained in two hours.
My eating has been a little off this week. I've still come under/at goal, but I am hungrier than I have been in a long time. I am more consistently running every other day -- basically 8 minutes run/2 minutes walk for 3 miles (week 5, c25k) so maybe that accounts for it? I don't know. I need to be really careful. I'm at the point now where I don't look heavy to most people any more. At a women's church breakfast Saturday morning, a couple women were talking about their flowing tops, covering their fatness, and really, I just glanced at this woman's top because it was super cute, and she said, "Oh, look at that tiny one there! She doesn't know what in the world we're talking about. Some of us age differently, honey." I felt like defending myself and saying, "I work hard! I was (and still am) overweight. I know exactly what you're talking about." But I just smiled and said, "Actually, I was just admiring your top. I love it." It bugged me all day though. In a weird way, I felt like I'd been body shamed.
And for the record, I am not "tiny." I am just barely in the normal BMI. And even a little over the threshold if I've had too much salt.
Hubby is booking our anniversary trip! We didn't get a honeymoon because when we married we were both so poor, and I had two small kids. So two New Years ago, we took a week long trip to Costa Rica. It was incredible. This New Year, we are going to Maui!!!! I can't believe I'm going to fly over open water. For hours. I don't yet know what I'm going to do with my kiddos, but I've got a few months to figure that out.
I've chatted enough. So proud of all of you and how strong and talented you are.

Felicia Maui! Wowee! I've always wanted to go there. So happy for you!

Felicia. Sometimes I have to catch myself, because my brain does sometimes go to a place I am not proud of. Weight struggles, whether 10, or 100 lbs are still valid. Numbers do not need validation to make them important. So sometimes my brain will think, why is she on here, she is perfect in my book. Many times I see a weight someone has posted that they're so ashamed to be at, and I'm thinking, " heck that's my goal weight". What I'm trying, very badly, to state is she probably didn't even realize what she'd said. Brush it aside and carry on girl! Next time it happens though, say what you are wishing to say, and see what happens. Sadly, I do it all the time, haha! I'm a square on this round world of ours!

Thanks, Becca.
In other weird Oregon news, I was working in my office with the window open and thought I heard a goat. I brushed it off, but I could still hear it. Looked out the window, and sure enough. Someone had a caged goat, of a fairly substantial size, in the back of their pick up truck.

Here's the article about our fire. I don't know why they are using the past tense, because it is still raging.

Our campus is behind that wall of smoke.

Becca: Congratulations on 33 years of marriage. WTG! I am also saddened by the fires in the Columbia Gorge.
Barbie: I hope your walking friend comes through the surgery with flying colors. :flowerforyou:
Lanette: I forwarded your link to my husband. Thanks for sharing it!
Alison: Good news about your property in Florida. I hope the court rulings are very positive for you.
Felicia: I'm so sorry you have a fire in your area. I hope it is contained and you don't have damages.
I had a lovely yoga class today and am beginning to get some of my strength and flexibility back to the point where I feel good. I've been trying to regain ground from a long period of time last winter when I couldn't go to yoga regularly due to DH's eye surgeries. I am happy to be feeling better.

Today: 2050 meters swimming, aquafit class and 3 miles on bike ( trip to/from gym). No word on job prospect.
I'm well on track swim wise for cancer fundraiser swim. I just hope won't stick out like a sore thumb, the old and slow grandma type creaking her way in the pool amidst the young fit swimmers. Lol. Well, it is what it is - and I am likely to be oldest female there by a few decades if last years swimmers are representative.
Tomorrow back to MiL rehab appointments- I think this is the last week they have her b/c I think her insurance is running out. She seems stronger, but I don't think long walks are in the cards.
Felicia Well done to get to your healthy BMI! I think you were very gracious- but I can understand that you were uncomfortable. Those women made a snap judgment of you based on your appearance and nothing else. As nice a compliment as 'tiny' may be, you were correct in feeling that on the whole they were not complimenting you. Actually, as I am sure you realize, the comment speaks volumes about them, not you. - your trip sounds fab!
