9/27 - 73kg (160.9) - damage from holidays not as bad as I feared. Back to 5:2 (or starvation day as I call it) today.
9/28 - 71.8kg (158.3) - meant to be my 2nd starvation day for the week but ended up at a work lunch. Still under daily calories, just need to even out the weekly total.
9/29 - 71.7kg (158.1) - I really can’t complain after my holidays but I’d love to be out of the 70s again for good and back to reaching my goal6 -
Fifth round with this fabulous group and it's really helping me stay on track! Thank you!!

9/20: 161.8 In the 161s!!! Yippee!
9/21: 161.0 "Flushed" a lot out today, so probably won't stick. Nice to see nonetheless! 10-day average is below 163. Yay!
9/22: 160.6 Gooooaaalllll!
9/23: 160.2 Pleasantly surprised.
9/24: 159.8 Welcome 150s! It's lovely to see you again. Even if you don't stick around tomorrow, I know you are in the neighborhood and we'll be together soon.
9/25: 159.6 Wow. 7th consecutive day of loss. I'm a happy camper!
9/26: 159.6 This is 3 lbs less than this time last week. Huge accomplishment! A bit over sodium last night (and fat and carbs!) so maybe there will be a loss tomorrow. I'll take anything in the 150s please.
9/27: 160.2 Dear 150s, where did you go? We were just getting aquainted. What did I do to scare you off? Was it the cheeseburger on Monday night? I was still at 1300 calories for the day and sodium under 2,700. Yes, it's more than usual, but not over a half pounds' worth. Whatever it is that drove you away, come back. We can work it out. Love, Me.

ROUND 17
Joined MFP at 207 lbs
SW when I joined this challenge: 193.8
R15 start 192.7 End 189.6
R16 start 189.4 End 187.8
End Goal for this round: 185
UWG: 120-130
Goals for a perfect day (adapted from jlemoore's idea):
1. Exercise (at least 30mins)
2. Log ALL my intake (would be good if it stays less than MFP's calories goal, but if not, then not more than 200cal excess)
3. Hit carb and protein goals
9/20 - 187.4 -- so another round begins. I made peace with myself last round regarding those pasta that I mindlessly ate and now I'm back to my usual eating. Setting alarm for water as well since I've noticed that I only consume around 1L when work is hectic.
9/21 - 186.9 -- wonderful loss; slowly but steady. Feeling good also since I was able to drink more water. Also added plain green tea in my drinks list, it tastes weird when unsweetened but I think this is better. I wanna tame my tongue and stop craving for sweets. Stayed within calorie goal but over carb.
9/22 - 186.7 -- good record considering what I did yesterday. Well, I was able to exercise, however I ate too many carbs and too little protein. I ate way more than my caloric goal... like I overate bigtime. The culprit -- BREAD! Before I became mindful of what I ate, I have this habit of trying any 'new' food that I see. And here in my place, there's a lot of varieties of bread and pastries that I never encountered before. To cut the story short, my colleague brought with her a freshly baked stuffed bread with stuffing I've never seen before, soem sort of green powder mixed with feta cheese, I think. And it smelled so good and tasted good, the supposed one bite became 4 pieces of it, one piece the size of half my fist. Then I snapped out of it, asked the ingredients she used, and felt like crying. Need to behave big time!
9/23 - 185.6 -- Looked like behaving well yesterday did the trick, apparently. Was able to accomplish my exercise goal again and finally hit my protein goal. A friend of mine just came back from vacation and his greeting when he finally saw me was, "What happened to you? Aren't you eating? You lost weight!!!" and I was like thinking, "really? I don't even see the difference in the mirror..." but well, I was really happy.
9/24 - 185.4 -- yesterday was a repeat of 09/20: too many carbs and too little protein. Though I'm glad that it didn't affect my weight, I know that I should correct this or this will become a big problem. Any suggestion on how to avoid overeating carbs?
9/25 - 184.9 -- woohoo!!! still doing good! Exercise done! Complete log done! I finally lowered by carbs intake (though still over) and hit my protein goal! Hopefully, I can keep this rate and finally be able to consistently hit my macros goals.
9/26 - 185.6 -- water retention. Had a tasty yet salty noodle dish last night. I knew I shouldn't even have had it, but it's a dish I haven't have for years, so I indulged in a cup and half of sinful goodness... Moving on!!!
9/27 - 183.9 -- back on track! Got my macros in good numbers as well. Definitely feeling great!

10 Day Goal:153.3 This is 10 lbs. down from when I first began
Day/Weight/Comment
9/19- 154.44 Does walking Costco count as exercise? lol Kept to our grocery list and avoided buying a pizza for dinner, even though it was calling me the entire time. Came home and found a salmon patty instead with salad and a few sweet potato fries. Didn't follow my plan, but made positive choices.
9/20- 154.22 Managed to get in a mile walk before it started to rain. Feeling determined to reach my goal this round.
9/21- 155.32 Absolutely no reason for this gain. Eating below calories, getting exercise in, and drinking plenty of water. Hopefully this is only temporary. (my hair was damp when I weighed today, so that might be a small part of this)
9/22- 154.44 Glad the weight is back down. That Costco pizza was still on my mind today, but no one answered when we called to order ahead, so we ended up eating leftovers. Thank you Costco. You saved me a bunch of calories. lol Tomorrow we are doing a university tour with my son so there will be lots of walking.
9/23- 154.44 Seems like my body is happy at this weight, but I am not. I did tons of walking today to the point my feet and legs ache. Lots of hills and staircases. My plan is to take it easy tomorrow and perhaps work in my garden if the weather cooperates.
9/24- 153.78 Hopefully optimistic this weight will stick (or drop). I'm less sore than I expected, but still took a day off. Need to do meal planning for next week.
9/25- 153.12 If this number is true, I have now lost 10 lbs since starting. I've really worked hard and stuck to my calories each day (with the exception of one day I'm not 100% sure of). I have more to go, but this success has me on a high.
9/26-152.68 I have a chest infection and have slept the majority of the day.
9/27- No weigh in today. I have no hot water and the boiler piece is going to take a few days to get. On top of that, my oven died this morning. I will be without for probably the next week and a half. We ate fast food for dinner, and I'm ok with that. It fell within my calories (barely). Tomorrow is a new day and I will utilize my crock-pot the best I can. I just hope I can come up with some low calorie ideas for it.
9/28- 153.12 At little up today, but I guess I'll take it. Went on a 1.3 mile walk and stayed under calories.

Starting weight 2012: 201
Starting weight 2017: 184
Round 16 SW: 175 - EW: 174.5
9/20: 173.5
Hm, didn't have enough water yesterday, I might be a bit dehydrated. Actually ate under calories Tue but I went out for a cocktail and dim sum.
9/21: 174
Plenty of water today, no added sugar, declined free cookies, got some exercise, stayed under calories. Potluck tomorrow, we shall see.
9/22: 174
Had a bit more to eat than I should have at my work potluck, but nothing with added sugar and it fit in my calories if I skip my planned dinner, not ideal. Light on water, I'll try to have more before bed.
9/23: 173.5
I hope the scale's not just toying with me again and this loss stays around. Got some exercise today, no added sugars, plenty of water, actually ate a little low, even with a piece of leftover pizza. Maybe a bit too much salt.
9/24: 173.5
No added sugars, good on water, good on calories but I left too many calories til the end of the day so I am overfull after a big dinner. Only incidental exercise. Today's my "Friday" and for the last five days I've resisted all kinds of desserts in the work lunch room, they seemed to multiply this week.
9/25: 175.5. What? Sigh. FML
Well, today I took a hike, ate under my calories. I had some fruit in a restaurant that I could tell were canned in syrup so I did have added sugar. Need to drink more water before the end of the day.
9/26: 174.5
I got lab tests back and my glucose (83) and cholesterol (176) are at an all-time low! [My cholesterol was 237 last year and fasting glucose is usually in high 90s.] I still need to raise my "good" chol a little but my changes have really made a difference. However, my iron is super low, which explains a lot, though not really a surprise. I think it's impacting my fat burning and definitely my energy.
Anyway, today's not over but I'm on track for plenty of water, no added sugar, eating below calories, and I plan to go for a run around 7pm.
9/27: 173.5..... A cautious hooray. Don't break my heart, please don't go back up.
I did OK on calories today, no added sugar, good on water, jogged my mile. Did I mention I can now JOG ONE MILE? Like jogging the whole way, even if it's slow. It's a big deal in my world.
9/28: 173.5
Fine on calories and water, no added sugar, got some exercise.

R16 SW: 159.6 R16 EW: 157.6
9/20: 157 /Getting closer to my lowest weight from the last round (156.2). I fit the catered Chipotle I had at work yesterday into my calories. I now make it a habit to ask what we will be eating on late nights so I can plan it into my calories so I don't have to bring my own food while everyone else is eating catered food. This is now two days in a row that I didn't go to the gym. I was so exhausted. I have to go tomorrow!
9/21: 156.8 /Continuing the downward trend, though it's going very slowly. I have today and tomorrow off so hopefully I can stay on track...it's harder on non-work days!
9/22: 156.4 /This is still higher than my lowest weight in R16 (156.2). I feel so impatient but I'm going to keep chugging along. I can't wait to see 155.xx. Ate out for lunch and dinner but relatively healthy and within calories. Did weights and circuit training exercises. Off to go swimming now.
9/23: 155.8 /Cautiously optimistic! Fearing the uptick! Nevertheless, it was thrilling to see 155.x! I'm now less than a pound away (154.9) from entering the healthy BMI range! Biked to the pool yesterday and swam laps. Ate under calories so I can save them for later.
9/24: 155.6 /Ate back all my exercise calories yesterday, which I usually don't do...including 3 glasses of wine. Had a thing in midtown last night and walked halfway and biked the other halfway home instead of taking the subway! I love these bike share programs!
9/25: 155.4 /Good day today. Went to the gym. Mostly did weights. A couple of unpredictable days coming up. Really struggling with water intake.
9/26: 155.2 /Slow and steady it seems. 0.4 lbs away from being in the normal BMI range for the first time in my adult life! Ate back exercise calories, so slightly under calorie goal (including exercise). My muscles ache from the lifting! Worried about my sushi dinner tomorrow. It's definitely a weakness of mine.
9/27: 154.2 /Wow! This is an insane drop. Might go back up but for now...I've hit the normal BMI range!!!! Had my sushi today (delicious!) and I think it's within my calories (based on estimates, not measurements). Couldn't get any workout in today but played some casual badminton with my students.
9/28: 154.2 /This number didn't go back up! Ate under calories today but no exercise. Feeling major bloating right now from TOM, which started today. I'll see if this affects the scale tomorrow. Need to drink more water, like always .

Im kg not lbs but will update to lbs when finished. My goal is to be under 100kg by the end of these 10 days.
9/20 - 101.1kg this morning
9/21 - 100.7 kg
9/23 - 100.6 kg
9/24 - 101.0 kg this sucks a bit of a gain. Generally im aiming for 80% whole foods. Today would have been 50% whole foods. Seems to make a difference.
9/25 - 100.8kg
9/26 - 100.8kg ive been pretty bad the last 2 days. Just eating more bread and having the odd choc treat then i normally allow myself. Meal prepping today so back on task
9/27 -100.8kg
9/28 -101.0kg im in the few days before that time of month and i must say my hunger increases and this month ive really struggled saying no to those cravings. It sucks because i really wanted to get under that 100kg mark and i have sabotaged myself these last few days. I havent made the healthiest choices today but i am under calorie goal so we will see how the scales are. Last month i put on 0.8kg the day before i was due which is just crazy.
9/29 - 101.1kg arghhhh such a battle this week.

Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it is coming off, bit by stubborn bit! Stick with it! The game continues!Round 16: (Target: 160) Highest, 162.4; lowest, 160.2; Mean, 161.3 It's slow, but I am very happy with the downward trend.
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

Let's go!
9/20 157.4 uhg! What is this?? Why do I gain so much during my cycle???
9/21 155.6 yeh!
9/22 155.4 holding!
9/23- 156.6
9/24- 157 - too much wine and not enough tracking over the weekend.
9/25 155.6 back to my before weekend weight....
9/26 155.8 - ok this is where daily weighing is so valuable. Without it, I'd creep up at this point. Because of it I am aware of what's happening as I become too relaxed with my eating. Goal is 155 end of this round.
9/27 155.6. - ok so back to Monday.. overall 1 down from beginning of round. It's true, if you only kind of do the plan you only kind of loose weight...
9/28 155 - that's right! Had a great workout yesterday. Kind of struggling with late night snacking though....want to hold this number through the weekend.
9/29 - 154.8 - so happy about this number! I haven't been under 155 in at least a year. NOW working to stay there over the weekend.

ROUND 17 - My Round 4
Start weight for round 17 - 161.7
Up 0.2 from yesterday but overall down 0.3 from last round. I so badly want to break back out of the 160's - I am so unhappy that they are my new normal. I want to see 159.9 or anything below it, as soon as possible. Here we go for this round:
9/20 161.7 - no exercise yesterday because I got out of work 1.5 hours late due to a meeting, then having to finish some paperwork at home (gotta love teaching)
9/21 162.8 UGH. Salty skillet pack for dinner so I hope that's the problem
9/22 161.7 - less snacking at work and less food at night - or it could just be the salt leaving from 2 salty meals. Still no during the week exercise...sign
9/23 I truly forgot to track - I weighed in but don't remember!!
9/24 162.0 - my family had a surprise 30th birthday for me on Saturday so not too bad!!
9/25 161.8 - moving the right way despite more cake since Sunday was my real birthday and TOM all weekend
9/26 162.8 - my friend made me ice cream cake for work yesterday so I had to have some - plus a salty dinner - anyone else bounce between the same weights? It's never 162.7 or 162.9, always 162.8, 162.0, 161.8 etc...

20/9 - 224.2 so happy to see this # again. Now I know it wasn't a fluke yesterday. :
21/9 - 223.8 strange. I got on the scale and it said 224.2. My SO got on after me (who by the way eats everything and his weight has not moved on 5 years - 165) so I know the scale isn't broken. I got back on and it moved lower to the same spot after 3 more attempts. Should I let him weigh before me everyday I wonder Be blessed and positive today everyone.
22/9 - 222.4 didn't eat properly yesterday and very hungry now.
23/9 - 223.4 more irregular eating. Trinidad doubles and pie.... still not right or on time. Water not on point either. Yesterday my attitude was -
I am too tired/stressed to care. That's what got me at 250. I should never be too anything to care about me and my future. Today is the first day of vacation so I know I got this.
24/9 - 222.8
25/9 - 222.8
26/9 - 225.4. TOM in 4 days and so the climb begins. There goes my goal. Sigh.
27/9 - 224.2
28/9 - 223.6
29/9 - 223.8 TOM hit. The next 7 days will not make sense to me to step on the scale. Will come back for the last 3 in the next round and continue. The way I see it, why make myself depressed even more.6
