It's taken her ten months to lose 16 pounds eating "800" calories a day.
Yeah, those calories aren't created equal to the calories I'm eating alrighty.
But thee forgets it's not the amount of calories you eat that makes you fat
Even then, let's go with the silly premise! If the nutritional quality of her "800" calories has her losing at that rate, I don't want any part of what she's recommending!
Bring on the potatoes!3 -

If it's not how many calories you eat, but what you eat, why starve yourself at 800 calories per day? Why not eat whatever you want of the "good" calories and lose away?
Also, by the logic that if you eat the good ones you will lose, how come people who don't need to lose and only eat the "good" calories don't slowly starve to death? Or do they have to add some "bad" to maintain?
Please eat 800 calories of twinkies for even a week.... guarantee you'll gain... and be pre diabetic.36 -

Literally impossible unless their TDEE was less than 800 calories. Unless you have a study that shows you can gain weight in a massive calorie deficit?
Oh, and sugar consumption doesn't cause diabetes.10 -

It's been done...and you're wrong.
Also, that's not how diabetes happens.9 -

If I ate 800 calories of twinkies for a week, I'd lose about 4 Lbs...14 -

they just think that your calories are off maybe. like, why is brain so calorie dense? and wouldn't an lean arm have less calories than one with some serious disco wings? also, are disco wings a thing? it doesn't sound right.4 -
Somewhat off topic but someone else brought it up. Over-population and famine could be greatly addressed by making use of a handy infographic shared here..............6

I believe your country's Mr. Swift modestly proposed that solution some time ago, but Ireland objected to it in rather forceful terms.3 -
Chemical bonds. Brought down to its most basic element our metabolism for energy production is very akin to a burning fire (hence burning calories).
Our chemistry for energy production basically comes down to a controlled burn of hydrocarbons but taking a lot of the "heat" of the reaction and storing it in another chemical bond that is sort of a universal currency for energy transfer in the body, ATP.
I could try to do a deeper dive and explain it in more detail if people care but I don't want to derail the thread more than it already has.7 -

A calorie is a calorie is a calorie. Some may be more healthy for your body but they are still a calorie and burn the same.

Firstly, the commenting on here is making my afternoon fly by, Thank you!
Secondly, Veterans, how do you not lose your ever loving minds with the almost daily repeats of this crap? I've only really been on the forums since this time last year and I've had to take breaks, and that was just from READING posts, not replying.
/Salute!
