I usually pre-log every single thing in the morning while I have the motivation, usually putting in more than I think I am going to eat so that I am always excited to go back in and cut things out and bring my calorie total down. You could try setting a reminder on your phone to go back to it when you sit down for a cuppa or whatever after dinner until you get into the habit? Just a couple of things that help bring me back in the evenings6 -
I am in! So far I have lost 58 pounds, gained 14 back. Since June of 2016. I haven't given up yet, just finding it hard to stay on track. Hoping this will help keep me accountable.

I did really well for the first 7 days last round. But then my husband and I went on a 3 night vacation to Orlando and did not eat well... So I gained back 5lbs. It's crazy how quick that happens. I wish it was as easy to lose as it is to gain... But I have no excuse this round! I'm going to give it all I've got!
Starting weight: 217.3lbs
Goal Weight: 214lbs
10/30 - 217.3lbs - Thanks to eating poorly over the last few days. Today I have been 100% back on it so hopefully tomorrow will reflect that!
The good news is that unless you ate absolutely huge amount you did not gain fat. You are probably looking at a lot of fluid retention. Drink lots of water the next few days and watch the scale go down.
Thanks for your thoughts! I didn't eat that much... It was just that what I did eat wasn't good. We were at Universal Studios and it was really difficult to eat properly there. I will definitely up my water intake to help! I've been trying to be on top of it today.5 -

@Slimpossible007 - That stinks about the hair loss. The only time I lost mine was after I had each child. I agree with the advice of checking your thyroid out. In the meantime maybe add avocado to your meals.8 -

TY @wannabesmaller2017 I lost some of my hair when pregnant as well as during Breast Feeding .. I was given a lotion from the hairdressers which helped me (the same stuff as I am using this time) I will have a look at recipes with avacados .. Im not their greatest fan .. the are so bland.

I've been logging food on MFP for a long time, but this is the first time I've been on the Community section. I'd like to join this challenge to help me get motivated to lose weight again. I was doing great last year when I got a fitbit for Christmas. I lost 25 lbs before June. Then summer break came (I'm a teacher) and I lost almost all of my progress. I went from my 209 lbs back up to 227 lbs. I would love to get to 199 by the end of 2017, but as long as the numbers are going back down, I'll be happy. I'm a 5'0" tall female, so my BMI is 44.5- very obese. I need to get this weight off.
10/30: 227.7/ Met my step goal today. Food choices were not terrible, but I did give in to the Halloween candy temptation.

I have noticed my hair is thinning, I currently eat around 1650 cals a day and I am losing slowly so I think its unlikely to be that I am eating too little if I eat any higher I am going to stop losing weight, or at the very least it will be lost at an even slower rate than now. (not that I have an issue losing slower but I think 1/4 - 1/2 lb a week is slow enough not to cause other issues such as hair loss)
I've started taking supplements and I am currently using a lotion recommended by the hairdresser to help stop hair loss .. but if it's nutritional then I doubt that it will help.
So I am looking for ideas in foods that might be rich in "stuff?!?!" that's good for hair to help stop the loss. basically I am looking to attack the issue from all angles
I am hoping against all hopes I don't have to choose between thick hair and normal weight. I seriously can't afford to lose any more hair .. :-/
Other than bouts of sciatica I have no other medical issues that I know about .. so I am making the assumption that this is mainly a nutrition problem.
any help / ideas appreciated
I had problems with my hair and nails weakening/thinning a while back. I started taking virgin coconut oil in EVERYTHING (I replaced butter/olive oil with it as a cooking agent and added it to recipes as well) as well as upped my vitamin supplements (calcium/magnesium, Vit C, D,&B). That did the trick for me! I hope you find the answer and are able to grow some more hair back!4
