I have noticed my hair is thinning, I currently eat around 1650 cals a day and I am losing slowly so I think its unlikely to be that I am eating too little if I eat any higher I am going to stop losing weight, or at the very least it will be lost at an even slower rate than now. (not that I have an issue losing slower but I think 1/4 - 1/2 lb a week is slow enough not to cause other issues such as hair loss)
I've started taking supplements and I am currently using a lotion recommended by the hairdresser to help stop hair loss .. but if it's nutritional then I doubt that it will help.
So I am looking for ideas in foods that might be rich in "stuff?!?!" that's good for hair to help stop the loss. basically I am looking to attack the issue from all angles
I am hoping against all hopes I don't have to choose between thick hair and normal weight. I seriously can't afford to lose any more hair .. :-/
Other than bouts of sciatica I have no other medical issues that I know about .. so I am making the assumption that this is mainly a nutrition problem.
any help / ideas appreciated
Yeah it sometimes does happen that if the vitamins and protein is defector in ur body... u start losing hair.... so plz atleast pop in few almonds in ur mouth...that won't make u gain so much weight. And if u oil ur hair. I can give u home remedies if u really wanna experiment it.
TY for your reply its noce to see some ideas that I have done being suggested ... it makes me feel like I am on the right path ... I've just bought almonds and almond butter and added them into my diet ... I have a treatment for my hair that has worked in the past, after washing you massage this lotion onto the hair (i lost a lot of hair during my pregnancies, breast feeding and also when I lost my oldest child, I am using that again .. (for the last two weeks) so Ill see how I go into the new year ... Head massages from hubby . very relaxing
Like losing weight isn't difficult enough without hair loss joining in to make it more of a chore ha !

Round 21 - The Plan:
I am away for work for a few days this round so will be practicing intermittent fasting and will have to remember to take my water bottle with me. Got into a good groove last round so looking to keep that going. Would like to get some more exercise this time around though as I only made it out twice last round.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 - 65.6kg - Had a lovely day of not counting yesterday as a bit of mental reprieve. Enjoyed a glass of wine and spaghetti for dinner with my partner. The blip on the scale was expected. Back to high protein, low carb, intermittent fasting for the rest of the round. C'mon goal weight!
10/31- 65.0kg - Good day yesterday, managed to stay away from all the sweets that are in the house at the moment. Almost down past my finishing weight for last round. Didn't get any exercise yesterday but will be hitting the gym today!
11/1 - 64.4kg - YAY!! So happy to see my lowest weight in over 12 months. Bye bye TOM. The plan is working! Prepped my dinner to eat in my hotel tonight (so so boring but necessary) and will be seeking out healthy options while I'm in London. Looking forward to potentially being at my mini-goal by the time I get back to my scale!
11/2 - Away from scale - had a super hungry day yesterday but managed to stick to the plan. Definitely under my water goal. London tap water BLERGH. Eating light today because I'm out with a work colleague for dinner tonight. Going to stick to max two glasses of wine and will order vegetable and protein off the menu (sauce on the side of course).

10/30 starting weight 162.0 First day of tracking again in quite a while. I know it works....just need to get back to it and start being more active.
10/31 162 Tracked everything yesterday and today….getting back to being accountable again. I was hungry several times today, but resisted for the most part because I knew what I had left for calories and also tried to make good choices when I felt I couldn’t hold out.
11/1 161 Old fashioned scale…..so need to see the needle actually move to know that I have lost. Plan to keep on tracking as I need to and not mindlessly eating when I get home from work.

11/1 - 171.6 - Yuck!!! Hanging in there.
11/2 - 172.4 - Ouch! And that's what happens folks when you don't work the plan as you should. I own it and I'm really mad at myself for giving up on me. Today is a new day and new mindset. I expect good results tomorrow.

10/30: 158.0 Very happy to see this number again! Not sure what today will bring. Maine got a crazy storm. No power, schools closed, work closed, roads closed, power lines down everywhere! It could be days without power. We have a generator though so hopefully sticking with plan as much as possible!
10/31: 158.0 Still no power and estimates are it might be Saturday before we get it! Our road has at least 6 trees hanging/down on power lines. I was bad last night and consumed too much alcohol. Kicking myself for the hangover today. A good reminder why I don't do that anymore! Back to business tomorrow!
11/1: 157.2 We got power back this evening! No candy temptations yet. Our town postponed trick or treating to Friday due to downed lines everywhere.
11/2: 158.2 Expected fluctuation. Had dinner at my in laws last night before getting our power back. Salty and carbs with a small dessert. Didn't enter it into MFP. So happy to get back to semi normal life today. Still no school for kids but I can use the treadmill today. W5D2 of C25K today!

If anyone wants an example of the impact of sodium and water weight, here it is! In 12 days of traveling and eating out, I put on over 10 pounds. In the 11 days I’ve been home, I dropped it back off! Back to the inexorable trudge toward being simply overweight rather than obese! And finally on to a normal BMI!

10/30 254.6 -- Starting out on a normal note for a normal 10 days! The 12 pounds “retrieved” travelling during challenge 19 successfully discarded once again in challenge 20! CICO with perhaps a soupcon of exercise ...

11/1 253.6 -- Me like.
11/2 251.8 -- A new low! First one since round 18! Now I am truly past the retrieved trip poundage. And this is with clothes on whereas previously was in my birthday suit! Huzzahs for CICO!

10/30: 176.0 which considering how I ate yesterday is quite surprising in a good way. Plan for today: drink all the water and stick to the plan!
10/31: 175.2 Plan: just say NO to the Halloween candy! It's the same candy that's around all year long, just in a different wrapper. ( also: say no to the booze!)
11/1: 175.6 I stuck to the plan. No booze. I did eat 2 mini peppermint patties and they were worth it! Walked an extra mile too taking the kiddos out. I'm supposed to do my measurements today, but I'm feeling some hormonal bloat so gonna wait a few days for those. Plan for today: drink more water. Write it, then bite it.
11/2: 175.0 I'm really sick of seeing this. Been here since October 3- although my average weight IS going slightly down according to my trend ( i use Libra) it sure as heck doesn't feel like it and will soon be a horizontal line if this number doesn't budge!
Plan for today: drink 4 24 oz water bottles. Realized I need to be a bit more specific with this one. Also, finish my meal planning for the next week.

10/30 - 246.2 - I am so HAPPY about this loss! I've been trying to add more exercise at night, and I think it's really going to pay off. I would love to go much further than my goal in this round and I'm going to try!
10/31 - 247.2 - I ate a little extra but I worked off some of it. I think the lack of sleep was a factor. Tonight's Halloween, so I'm really hoping I can keep my resolve and have a loss instead of a gain!
11/1 - 247.8 - I had candy, not a lot, but I did have some. I actually am pretty proud of how restrained I was. I was still under calories with exercise, and it wasn't a big gain. I'm going to call it a win and hope that tomorrow is better. Eating at book club tonight, so hopefully there are some healthy choices for me!
11/2 - 248.8 - I was bad. I ate way too much, didn't exercise. I'm hitting a low point and I'm not really sure how to pull myself out of it.

I weigh first thing in the morning when I get up. My scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Comments reflect prior day.10/20/17: Oooh, I like this thread! I've been weighing myself daily since April, keeping track in MFP Food Notes, and logging my "official" weigh-ins on Saturdays. I've been amazed at how much my weight can fluctuate from day to day, depending on eating out or processed foods, adult beverages, net calories green or red, etc. Daily weigh-ins really help me see cause and effect with high sodium days, adult beverages, too much sugar, etc. I don't get freaked out as much by a jump on the scale now, since I know what I did to cause it, and what I can do to change it. My scale measures in 1/2 # increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.Round 20

10/24: 167.0 Drank 15c water and net calories (barely) green.
10/25: 166.0 Back to SW this round. Net calories green 35 & 12c water.
10/26: 166.0 A little surprised....happy hour after work with 1 pint beer, "healthier" pub food & popcorn for supper. Drank 14c water. Fitbit 14,674 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 40 floors.
10/27: 165.0 Fitbit 15,929 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom) & 38 floors. 14c water. Been low on fiber lately.
10/28: 164.5 Fitbit 15,461 steps, 250+ steps 13/14, & 37 floors
10/29: 166.5 Ate way over on carbs and every bite was delicious! I don't care, it was one day.
10/30: 166.0 Very sedentary day (church, visit parents & 3 hour round trip) following high carb day, no surprise. Fitbit 3,888 steps, 250+ steps 5/14 hours & 7 floors. At least I drank 12c water.
10/31: 165.0 Fitbit 13,521 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 48 floors and 12c water
11/01: 164.5 Fitbit 13,993 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 hours (boom) & 40 floors; 12c water
11/02: 164.0 Dog-walk day plus active evening: two loads of laundry, made large couscous salad, cooked triple batch cream of leek soup & baked lemon zucchini cake. Fitbit 16,109 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 42 floors; 13c water.

Round 15: 166.8
Round 16: 164.6
Round 18: 164.1
Round 20: 165
Round 20 was a definite challenge, pulling me out of my comfort zone. Hoping to get back on track this round and focus on the daily weigh-in the next morning when I am tempted to go off the rails. Loving this accountability.
10/30: 165 Good day yesterday; got a run in and drank my water. Having trouble tracking, though. I get lazy by dinnertime and don't finish out the day.
10/31: 164.5 managed to finish tracking yesterday. Got in a walk with the dog and 30 minutes on my elliptical at home. My DH took apart the elliptical, cleaned it, fixed the fan so it works again... nice for those cold mornings when I don't want to drive to the gym...
11/1: 165.7 Not gonna lie. Yesterday I ate with... what did you call it, Heidi, Cyranda? ...reckless abandon. Today has not been much better. Gotta turn it around, and FAST!

10/31 -218.0 - FINALLY - I was actually starting to wonder if the scale was broken...still slightly skeptical. Happy Halloween!
11/1 - 218.0 - Okkkkkkkk....
11/2 - 218.0 - I don't buy this for a second. Testing it tonight fully clothed and holding my toddler.

I did really well for the first 7 days last round. But then my husband and I went on a 3 night vacation to Orlando and did not eat well... So I gained back 5lbs. It's crazy how quick that happens. I wish it was as easy to lose as it is to gain... But I have no excuse this round! I'm going to give it all I've got!
Starting weight: 217.3lbs
Goal Weight: 214lbs
10/30 - 217.3lbs - Thanks to eating poorly over the last few days. Today I have been 100% back on it so hopefully tomorrow will reflect that!
10/31 - 215.00lbs - Woo! I was on it yesterday! Plus, I went to the gym. Which I don't take the time to do very often. I'm trying to get better about that and build my strength up with weight training. Slowly but surely! Trying to be on it again today, so hopefully I can keep dropping the lbs I gained while on my vacation!
11/1 - 214.3lbs - Yes! I'm so relieved that my vacation weight is sliding off like this. I hope to keep it up! I did have a few mini pieces of candy last night while we handed it out to trick or treaters, but I kept it minimal and ate well the rest of the day.
11/2 - 215lbs - Darn it. I guess that's what I get for eating too much pasta for dinner...

I've decided that I am going to eat at maintenance for 2/7 days a week, which is why I am going to start using my average weight. Want to offset hormonal changes that occur when losing weight for extended periods of time that can make it harder to lose and maintain weight and hoping to elevate potential emotional stress of constantly being in a deficit. Last weekend was my first time intentionally eating at maintenance and not only did my weight basically stay the same, which it should, but I didn't realize how hard it is and how hard it probably will be when I do reach maintenance mode. Let' see how this works.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30-222.4 Weight basically the same from Friday even though I ate at maintenance this weekend.
10/31--222.6 Did not drink enough water yesterday. Finished W3D2 of C25K and stretched.
11/1--222.0 Did not drink enough water again yesterday. I'm not sure how accurate this weight is today. The first time I stepped on the scale my weight showed up as much lower, so I weighed myself 2 more times and decided to log the middle weight. I will take it as a positive that the highest weight was still less than yesterday's weight.
11/2--222.6 Feeling bloated but not sure why.

Just starting this whole MFP app. Starting weight 158, goal weight 135 by mid February. I am inconsistent with small will power. Hoping for accountability here! R21 goal is 154.
10/30 158.2
10/31 158?
11/1 158?
11/2 158.8 this morning which is really my official start wt, only found this group yesterday and “guesstimated” the 158. MFP has me at 1200 cals per day which may be a little low for me, but I’m willing try! Alcohol is my downfall.
