Sigh. I'm hungry all the time, so keep eating a couple hundred over my goal, clearly at maintenance rather than to lose. So I just did a little research on foods that make us hungry, and find that my egg whites, low-fat kefir, cheese, and guilty daily indulgence of licorice all sorts (!!) are all potential appetite stimulants. I just made a week's worth of low-fat kefir-egg white-overnight muesli breakfasts, so I'm considering how to add a bit of fat to my breakfasts to increase satiety. Anyway, if you're hungry all the time, maybe Google "foods that make you hungry" to see if a diet tweak might help. :-) (And right now I'm sitting in the B&N cafe resisting EVERYTHING but my water bottle!)

This is important to figure out and it's different for each of us. I need to avoid artificially sweetened things because sweet taste without calories makes me want to chew the drapes. I need a relatively high fat breakfast of eggs scrambled with cheese and cream to keep me satisfied all day. If I eat cereal for breakfast, even if it's the same number of calories, I'll be snacking uncontrollably that night.
In the "old days," when we knew less about human nutrition, we were told to eat low fat foods that were low in calories to lose weight. This led us down the road to failure because we got hungry. As it turns out, a balanced diet including fats, vegetables, grains, fruit, and lean meat if you're a meat eater is the way to go.
It makes eating to lose weight a lot more fun when you can eat tasty foods but just limit the amounts!

10/31 - 97.8kg I did 20 minutes on the elliptical today. Trying to slowly increase my exercise every day.

11/2 167.8 lb night, post workout. Not quite back down to my lowest (Halloween rise) but I'm getting there. Did a crap ton of exercise today (3 hours), I'm pooped.
11/3 168.2 lb midday. Period struck. That probably has attributed to the rise. Just going to keep going as see what happens at the end.

would like to join this challenge for some extra accountability. I've found myself much more lax with my food lately because I'm pretty close to my goal weight. My SW was 148, current weight is 121.6 and goal weight is 117ish (I'm 5'1). I'm starting a few days late but better than waiting for another 7 days to get going again.

11/5: 121.4- Down Up Down Up! Well I didn't avoid the donuts at church today. I forgot to factor in DST and was super hungry and ended up eating half of one. Water intake was good for the day. Eating was on track until I made myself a bowl of popcorn at 8 pm. I think I'm going to join the no late night snacking challenge too.
11/6: 121.0- I did good today. I finished week 8 day 3 of C25k, which means that I only have 1 more freaking day to go!! I had a salad for dinner too. If I gain tomorrow, I think that it will be due to the broccoli that I ate with my salad. Excited since I did some meal prep for lunches too for the rest of the week.

Today the magical scale showed 163, 164, 165. I'll take it, but doubt it's for real. On my feet all day working an event, lots of standing and walking back and forth. Brought my own food so I didn't buy from vendors or try snackies in the break room. Drank lots of water, practically perfect on macros. No added sugar.

Monday is my "Saturday." I went on a hike, I'm proud of myself for making it up 880ft elevation gain in a mile. We went out to eat, then I had a lovely nap. Not sure what to expect on the scale tomorrow, definitely had a large calorie deficit today and I'm ok on water but I'm expecting sore legs and that can mean a little inflammation.

10/30: 147.6 /Up by almost a pound. To be expected but still disappointing. Had a good day today. Under calories and reached 11,000+ steps. Only got in 48oz of fluid and 16 of 25g of fiber.
10/31: 147.8 /(Posted on 11/1) Now a pound heavier than the end of Round 20. And today was a very bad day...drank two cocktails and two glasses of wine plus a ton of bad food. Well over calories and unable to log properly. This is the third day in a week of poor eating.
11/1: 147.8 /Still not budging. Did all the right things today. Drank 64oz of water, walked 9000+ steps and went to the gym (swimming). Ate under my allotted calories. Struggling with getting enough fiber and I feeling it in the area of digestion...
11/2: 147.8 /This number really likes me! @quiltingjaine, you're totally right! I have to be patient. Ate under calories today. Clocked in 13,000+ steps including 34:44 minutes of running at 11:30 min/mile, which is my fastest yet. Unable to get 64 oz or meet fiber goal. I really struggle with water, fiber and protein goals. Fingers crossed for a dip tomorrow!
11/3: 147.0 /Well, at least it's getting back down to my R20 end weight. Ate under calories and clocked 12,000+ steps.
11/4: 145.6 /Ok, so I got on the scale around 7am and it was 146.4 but then I went back to bed and when I woke up the scale read lower. So, the reality...who knows? Walked 10,000+ steps, ate under calories and actually met my fiber goal! I hope to see 145s tomorrow too!
11/5: 145.8 /I stayed in today, so no gym or steps. I reduced my weight loss goal to 0.5lbs/week which gives me 1490 calories now. I'm 10.8 lbs away from my goal and I want to start seriously strength training soon. That being said, totally had the munchies today. It's only 6pm and I only have 90 calories left.
11/6: 146.4 /Definitely not the best round. I'll be happy if I at the very least end in the 145s on Wednesday. I dropped my calories back down...I'm definitely conflicted. Anyways, ate under calories today. Made an awesome Trader Joe's salmon burger on an English muffin and salad for dinner.
11/7: 145.6 /Rained all day today. Ate under calories. With this round's pattern I won't be surprised if I'm back in the 146s tomorrow.

10/30 - 65.6kg - Had a lovely day of not counting yesterday as a bit of mental reprieve. Enjoyed a glass of wine and spaghetti for dinner with my partner. The blip on the scale was expected. Back to high protein, low carb, intermittent fasting for the rest of the round. C'mon goal weight!
10/31- 65.0kg - Good day yesterday, managed to stay away from all the sweets that are in the house at the moment. Almost down past my finishing weight for last round. Didn't get any exercise yesterday but will be hitting the gym today!
11/1 - 64.4kg - YAY!! So happy to see my lowest weight in over 12 months. Bye bye TOM. The plan is working! Prepped my dinner to eat in my hotel tonight (so so boring but necessary) and will be seeking out healthy options while I'm in London. Looking forward to potentially being at my mini-goal by the time I get back to my scale!
11/2 - Away from scale - had a super hungry day yesterday but managed to stick to the plan. Definitely under my water goal. London tap water BLERGH. Eating light today because I'm out with a work colleague for dinner tonight. Going to stick to max two glasses of wine and will order vegetable and protein off the menu (sauce on the side of course).
11/3 - Away from scale - well the plan to only have two wines last night didn't happen hahaha. Did well with dinner though. Feeling a little sorry for myself today and trying to stay away from the food car on the train home. A Kit Kat is calling my name haha

11/7 - 64.8kg - YIPPEE! The plan is working people! Imagine that. Averaging out my calories to be under 1300 for the 10 day challenge is really keeping me focused and gives me the wiggle room I need on the weekends
11/8 - 64.7kg - well I am 700g off my mini-goal but I'm still chalking it up as a win. My average weight was down to 65.1kg for the round and I think I am definitely out of the dreaded 66s Can't wait to see you all next round!

10/30: 227.7/ Met my step goal today. Food choices were not terrible, but I did give in to the Halloween candy temptation.
10/31: 226.6/ Doing okay today. I'm almost at my step goal, so I should get meet my goal this evening. But the food temptations! School Halloween party, plus a student's birthday, plus Halloween candy at home for my son!!! I have to resist!
11/1: 226.3/ Did great on calories and steps today, if I stop eating now. I have a lot to do this evening, but that's when my munching temptations kick in. I may just go on to bed early to avoid the temptation.
11/2: 226.4/ Not so great with food choices today, but went over my step goal.
11/3: 226.1/Having a hard time resisting snacks and munching. Doing pretty good on calories but not the best. There's a good bit I could cut out to help with losing weight. It's easy to say that after the fact, not as easy when food is right in front of me.
11/4: 225.8/ Weight is going down, so I'm happy. Still haven't made good food choices. Tomorrow- no sugary desserts all day. No chips or other snacks. Only planned meals and a planned snack between meals. I know I can do it for one day!
11/5: 225.2/ Weight is still going down! I did really good on the no sugar snacks today, not perfect, but much better than usual. Tomorrow- same goal- no unplanned snacks. I'm also going to cut back on processed carbs.
11/6: 225.8/ I don't like that it went back up today. Hope it goes back down tomorrow, but I had a lot of sodium today, so I may retain/gain more.
11/7: 227.3/ Well, that just sucks. I'm right back where I started this round.
11/8: 225.3/ So yesterday, the scale just wanted to give me a scare, I guess. I'm very happy with today's number.
Wow, straight numbers- I lost 2.4 lbs in 10 days! Love it! My average is 226.3, which is a 1.4 lbs loss from my starting weight in this round. Either way, I'm happy with this loss. Going to post in the next round now. I'm ready to go again! Thanks, Everyone!9 -

10/31 - 152.6 - leaving town today for 6 hour road trip and 5 day training...stuck in my car or a hotel, eating hotel food every meal, and sitting on my butt all day every day and doing homework at night. I won't be able to stick to my food plan but I'm committed to making the best choices I can and getting steps and exercise in where I can. Wish me luck!

11/7 - 154.2 - Did well yesterday, and am grateful for the loss...but still shocked and irritated that it took me 3 weeks to lose 3 lbs and 5 days to gain it back. Where's the justice?!
11/8 - 153.2 - OK ok I overreacted. Must have been mostly water weight from change in routine like @quiltingjaine said and it's coming off quickly. Note to self...change in routine=change in scale...but nothing is permanent...who knew? Duh...funny how I can KNOW something logically, yet have such an emotional reaction to the number on the scale that I temporarily go bonkers. Guess that's actually the definition of "losing" one's mind. First time I've gone up in 15 rounds though, so I think I can live with that.8 -

10/30: 158.0 Very happy to see this number again! Not sure what today will bring. Maine got a crazy storm. No power, schools closed, work closed, roads closed, power lines down everywhere! It could be days without power. We have a generator though so hopefully sticking with plan as much as possible!
10/31: 158.0 Still no power and estimates are it might be Saturday before we get it! Our road has at least 6 trees hanging/down on power lines. I was bad last night and consumed too much alcohol. Kicking myself for the hangover today. A good reminder why I don't do that anymore! Back to business tomorrow!
11/1: 157.2 We got power back this evening! No candy temptations yet. Our town postponed trick or treating to Friday due to downed lines everywhere.
11/2: 158.2 Expected fluctuation. Had dinner at my in laws last night before getting our power back. Salty and carbs with a small dessert. Didn't enter it into MFP. So happy to get back to semi normal life today. Still no school for kids but I can use the treadmill today. W5D2 of C25K today!
11/3: 158.0 TOM started. Nice number to see considering this! Our trick or treating will be tonight so hello influx of candy! Will try to plan for a few pieces and continue to moderate! Looking forward to the weekend after this wild week.
11/4: 156.8 Nice number this morning. Feeling confident going onto the weekend. Nowhere to be so planning on cleaning, yard work and exercise both days.
11/5: 157.0 Not a great night of sleep. Daughter woke with a fever. Did W5D3 of C25K yesterday which was 20 minutes straight running; nailed it! Such a big accomplishment as I've never considered myself a "runner".
11/6: 159.8 Oh Gosh. Hello water weight. I did so much yard work yesterday that I have some sore muscles this morning. Feels great though!
11/7: 158.0 Better but getting a little sick of this number. I know it will go down though so I will just keep on counting on!
11/8: 157.2 Good number to end with. I am hoping this is the start of a whoosh! I love this check in and will be back for the next round!

10/30 - 193.0 lbs - excited to do this challenge and praying I last the round!
10/31 - 192.4 lbs - no exercise routine yesterday because I did gardening which was very active and tiring.
11/01 - 191.6 lbs - really pleased with that. I'm staying on track so far - logging cals and working out.
11/02 - 192.0 lbs - I was a little 'picky' yesterday! Confident it will come down again tomorrow. Mostly on track.
11/03 - 192.0 lbs - it will come down tomorrow. I was under a little yesterday. Still working out
11/04 - 192.2 lbs - I've been good so it has to come down soon. Not too worried yet! Premenstrual too.
11/05 - 192.0 lbs - pleased to see it coming down again.
11/06 - 193.0 lbs - picking too much. I am still logging and working out so all is not lost! Sigh!
11/07 - 194.0 lbs - I expected this after a binge yesterday! New day today.

Got to say I'm really disappointed with myself. No excuses. It's been very difficult, I crave foods like no tomorrow (the joys of antipsychotic medication) and I'm premenstrual which is a new experience now that I've had the coil fitted this summer.
The one good thing is I've logged. I've not shut my eyes and said oh well doesn't matter. At one point it killed me to tell anyone my weight (I was a lot lighter than I am now). So I'm taking the small wins. Remembering this is a life style challenge not a diet. A big well done to all those that got to where they wanted to be...keep at it. To those that didn't - it will click at some point. Keep trying.8 -

The end of ROUND 21. This is my first ROUND. I've enjoyed it. I learnt from it. I lost almost a pound, so that was a bonus. Now....on to ROUND 22. I think think this might be a better ROUND for me.
I have no goal in mind for only 10 days. I will be happy with a 1 or 2 pound loss after each round. My ultimate

10/30 starting weight 162.0 First day of tracking again in quite a while. I know it works....just need to get back to it and start being more active.
10/31 162 Tracked everything yesterday and today….getting back to being accountable again. I was hungry several times today, but resisted for the most part because I knew what I had left for calories and also tried to make good choices when I felt I couldn’t hold out.
11/1 161 Old fashioned scale…..so need to see the needle actually move to know that I have lost. Plan to keep on tracking as I need to and not mindlessly eating when I get home from work.
11/2 161 Yesterday was a really hungry day….held off and stayed within my range including activity…weekend coming up will be difficult.

11/7 - 183.8 what? Yay! Someone asked me yesterday what my secret is and as I was explaining CICO and exercise they almost looked bored. Then they asked me about apple cider vinegar. I felt like I just wasted 5 minutes of my life that could have been spent getting some exercise. I know I should have more patience but it seemed like everything I just said went right through her ears.
11/8 - 183.4 Nice loss this round, 2.6 pounds, extremely happy with this. On to 22.8 -

11/1 - 189.8 Yikes! Moving in the WRONG direction. This is the result of one really naughty meal. I'm bloated and feeling yucky and regret it, so I'll do much better today!

10/30: 176.0 which considering how I ate yesterday is quite surprising in a good way. Plan for today: drink all the water and stick to the plan!
10/31: 175.2 Plan: just say NO to the Halloween candy! It's the same candy that's around all year long, just in a different wrapper. ( also: say no to the booze!)
11/1: 175.6 I stuck to the plan. No booze. I did eat 2 mini peppermint patties and they were worth it! Walked an extra mile too taking the kiddos out. I'm supposed to do my measurements today, but I'm feeling some hormonal bloat so gonna wait a few days for those. Plan for today: drink more water. Write it, then bite it.
11/2: 175.0 I'm really sick of seeing this. Been here since October 3- although my average weight IS going slightly down according to my trend ( i use Libra) it sure as heck doesn't feel like it and will soon be a horizontal line if this number doesn't budge!
Plan for today: drink 4 24 oz water bottles. Realized I need to be a bit more specific with this one. Also, finish my meal planning for the next week.
11/3: 175.0 I thought I saw 174 flicker for a second. So maybe a whoosh is coming. Let's cross fingers.
11/4: 174.0 FINALLY a new and exciting number! Let's hope it sticks!
11/5: 173.6 down another half pound! this is the lowest weight I have been in 9 years!
11/6: 172.8 this is a major whoosh! my body wants to hold on for so long, but it finally gave up. Glad to hit my mini goal for this round (after a whole month!)
11/7: 172.6 seems like it's sticking!
11/8: 173.6 not as good as the past couple of days but I still call it a win.
