I weighed out half a serving of pasta today. First time I’ve weighed pasta (my picture shows fluid ounces but i actually switched to grams to verify)...k59fo186olaw.jpeg

A serving of pasta is 2 oz. dry. If you are talking spaghetti, that ends up being a rounded cup, which is a good amount of pasta once it spreads out all over the plate. .

This. Weigh the pasta dry. A serving of spaghetti weighed out and cooked fills a bowl pretty nicely.

As others said... the box serving size means dry.

Pasta is very calorie dense for sure.

Remember that information on the label for dry pasta is before it is cooked. Dry pasta would weigh just about double after cooking.

Are you talking about Shirataki noodles made from Konjac root, @nooshi713 ? They are virtually all fiber, and I hear they are an acquired taste.

Yes those. A diabetic coworker of mine told me about them.

You guys should try Miracle Noodles. Tastes like nothing except whatever sauce you out over it, virtually calorie free plant based product.

Those things are sad...and as texture goes, nothing like pasta.

I love real pasta if course but these are a good substitute for me when trying to cut calories.

Pasta was one of the few things I was really off on by eyeballing. But I was consistently under estimating rather than over. It was one of the few things I continued to weigh until I realized that I simply didn't want as much pasta as the box thought I should.
