Been eating less than 2,000 calories a day for a week and gained weight

I’ve been eating 1 meal a day every night for dinner for the past week and it’s the same meal every night at Wendy’s I calculated the meal based on the nutritional information on their website that I get 92 grams of protein and a little less than 1500 calories
I order 2 double cheeseburgers
1 chicken sandwich
And a large chili and I drink water
All stuff on the value menu
I think I might have metabolic syndrome because I used to eat very little calories and very little protein but a lot of carbs
My question is why am I gaining weight when I’m eating 1500 or less calories a day, maybe the nutritional information on the website is inaccurate or maybe it’s all the meat... whatever it is it breaks my motivation that I’m not losing anymore weight and in fact am gaining
So tonight I will not be eating that meal again seeing as it’s making me gain weight the only other thing is, I feel a lot better I don’t have anymore headaches or hunger pangs, I sleep better at night and my anxiety levels are down. But to summarize I used to eat mostly junk like frozen food and carbs like chips and ice cream but I was losing weight but was getting very little protein. Now I’m eating a higher protein diet but from fast food but still around the same amount of calories and my weight has actually increased.

How much water are you drinking? It's possible you're taking in too much salt, which causes water retention. Drinking tons of water throughout the day, and particularly after a salty meal will help flush the extra salt out of your system. If you're not tracking your water intake, you should be. I get around 100 ounces of water a day, but if you're not used to drinking tons of water, at least shoot for 65 oz!
Also, it goes without saying, but maybe consider healthier options. I know it's not always possible because of the way life is, but 1500 calories goes a long way when you add veggies in!8 -
the amounts they give you on the website are not 100% accurate - I'd imagine they are not weighing out the chilli, cheeseburgers, toppings, etc so the margin of error is great. why exactly are you doing this?? with what you are spending everyday at Wendy's there are so many better options you could be buying!!8
-
One week doesn't show you anything.
It could just be normal fluctuation.
How much did you gain?9 -
Water weight.
You're looking at *at least* 4300 mg of sodium. Daily. I cringe just thinking about it.

One double cheeseburger at Wendy's is 800 calories. You only need this one to get 100% of your daily protein. So, two cheeseburgers equals 1600 calories. Add 380 calories from the chicken sandwich and you've eaten 1980 calories. Top it off with 310 calories of chili and you've eaten 2,290 calories. So you're eating more than your goal every day.
Eliminate one cheeseburger to bring it down to 1490, add in an apple and something leafy green.
Or ditch the chili and you've made it under 2000.39 -
Fast food is crazy high in sodium.10
-
That sounds...So unhealthy....
I love me some fast food but why the hell are you eating nothing but fast food if your trying to lose weight? Like its totally doable "nothing wrong" with it, But your mindset must be in a self improvement health mindset im just curious why these food choices EVERY night. You really would be beter off learning long term habits that will enrich your life and make you healthier in a way you can maintain. Forever
That aside since its really not important just curious, Your eating ALOT of salt. So thats likely why. Aswell as -Although ill admit fast food places tend to be alot more accurate- Restaurant food has a wide margin of error, It all depends on who makes it. Aswell as stuff like if your like me and add a ton of ketchup to burgers. The chicken sandwich in particular the mayo can vary huge and that adds up crazy fast.12 -

That to if its right hah i didnt bother with math. Seriously this sounds so unhealthy >.< Im glad you feel good OP But i am curious to see for how long you feel good1 -
It was only a week so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your metabolism, but please don’t take that as encouragement to keeping that diet. It’s clogging my arteries from here.8

He said it was the value range sized ones.1 -
You need more time - you can't really tell much about what's going on with weight loss until you've tracked your weight for at least a month. It's the trend line over time that matters.2
-
Not a good idea. Why aren't you eating breakfast and lunch too? Once in a while fast food us okay but your only meal every day? Someone already showed you miscalculated.4

Sounds to me like you still are...31 -
You need to be consuming more protein in your diet, protein helps you maintain your muscle mass when you are in a calorie deficit.. The protein consumption is not what is causing the water weight gain in the least.
I can't find the Double Cheese burger on Wendy's value menu, I guess its possible your particular location has this on their menu or if are getting the Double Stack which is 390 calories. You are still getting plenty of carbs how much more I don't know. In either case, consuming larger amounts of sodium and if your carbs have increased from week prior these are likely the culprit of your scale weight increase.

No, on their website one double stack is 390 calories not 800
https://menu.wendys.com/en_CA/product/daves-double/
820 calories. Not 390.9 -
This is not a healthy diet.
You should eat at least some of your meals at Burger King for a balanced diet.43 -

He also said it was a double cheeseburger which isn't a thing. The only double cheeseburger Wendy's has is the 800 calorie one.4 -

Yeah correct the double stack is what I order, to be more specific I order 2 double stacks 1 crispy chicken blt and 1 large chili
I updated my post to include also more carbs along side the extra sodium will cause scale weight increases. With out seeing what you were eating before I cannot say for sure.
I agree that you should consider getting in a better balance of nutrition, this sounds quite unsustainable for long period of time, hopefully you will choose to make some wiser food choices in the future, I will ask do you plan to eat like this well into maintaining?0 -

This is what he's eating, it must not be available in Canada. https://menu.wendys.com/en_US/product/double-stack/
OP, it's only been a week and you've likely increased your sodium intake by eating only fast food.2 -

OP - while several people have commented on your choice of fast food not being the greatest, what is great is that you're trying. You're taking a step into the world of calorie counting, good for you! Even if all you eat is fast food (for now at least) keep trying to track your calories. Down the road a ways maybe work in some healthier stuff but even this one step of tracking your calories is better than most, so good for you!14

Why... why are the patties square? That's really messing with my sense of order...18

Looks more than 390 calories to me. Surely the bun alone must be 200 ? Not even accounting for those two patties, the cheese and the extra stuff.6 -
