Every time I have a friend who needs a c-section, I am grateful that I had four natural births. I know that it's different with an incision, but I laughed at my OB when she said not to lift over 10 pounds for six weeks. My daughter weighed almost 9 pounds so I couldn't have carried her and her diaper bag, much less her and her car carrier. She was three when Son 1 was born. I can't imagine being told not to pick up a 1 year old. (I am a bad patient, I started picking daughter up about 10 days after delivery.)

Andrew was ten pounds at birth and I was carrying him from about 2 days old because I had to!

So glad you are recovering better this time, but the shower thing would be a pain. But your husband should help... he helped great the issue! ;)

Oh he does, he's amazing. I just hate having to even ask.

That sounds amazing! A customer in line was talking about making an Apple Cheesecake & someone with her said that's disgusting! I thought it sounded delicious.

Obviously a twisted mind. how can anyone think that disgusting?

    Yeah, I know
I was so confident I was not even worried about watching the games......I half watched one and decided to work during the other one figuring we were a shoe in and I would grab the highlights on my way home

How did a bunch of tall lanky pale dudes beat us in football? What the actual kitten happened?

Ha ha. As someone from England we have learnt never to assume anything is a given. Particularly when it comes to sports. You say that, but there are quite a few very good Swedish sports-people. They're a bit of a wild-card.

Haha! I skipped Thanksgiving this year and it was wonderful!
My daughter did not come home cuz she was sick, my son worked a double on Sunday and I always work the Monday so I got out of it! I did make my son a pumpkin pie though cuz he was bummed about only missing that!

I wonder how I can get out of Christmas.......

Good for you! If it's not big on your list, then it's not worth the stress.

Stuffing is my favorite, too! Trying a crock pot recipe this year. We'll see.

Pies are my favorite part. For those interested, I am going to make pumpkin apple and chocolate. I may be crazy.

I'm making pecan, but we will have apple, chocolate, coconut, and pumpkin as well.

It was moms 90th in Nov 20,
We bought a cheep cake for the candles, and a good one for eating.
Just to let you know this is what happens within seconds when you light 90 candles on a birthday cake. We placed it on the fire place for safety.

Pie-wise, we will have pumpkin, coconut cream, and French silk. :)

Well I thought I was going to just make apple and pumpkin pies this year but ended up with enough piecrust to make another pie, so I made a pecan pie.
I boiled my beets today but after supper noticed that they weren't quite done so I set the stove on high fully intending to turn them down. I got distracted with mom and you guessed it. Worse I did not notice it until they were little black charcoal balls in the pan. Seriously crispy black on the outside with tiny soft red spots in the center.
How could such a great baking day be so sadly ended!
This week does seem to have a theme of fire.

Well I hope that is the last fire of the week! No more fires for you young lady! I don't even want you having candles.

I can take or leave most of the Thanksgiving foods, but stuffing is definitely my favorite!

My least favorite Thanksgiving food is definitely my grandmother's pumpkin pie. I think she basically just takes a can of pumpkin & doesn't put any spices in. I remember one year fighting with my sister on who had to take the pie home. I ended up crushing the pie after I tripped climbing out of the suburban & falling on top of it.
