1st Goal 150 in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet.
2nd Goal 145 = normal BMI
UGW Range 140 - 145
I weigh first thing in the morning when I get up. My scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Comments reflect prior day. Previous round EW 162.0 LW 162.010/20/17 / Started Round 20: Oooh, I like this thread! I've been weighing myself daily since April, keeping track in MFP Food Notes, and logging my "official" weigh-ins on Saturdays. I've been amazed at how much my weight can fluctuate from day to day, depending on eating out or processed foods, adult beverages, net calories green or red, etc. Daily weigh-ins really help me see cause and effect with high sodium, too much sugar, etc. I don't get freaked now by a jump on the scale, since I know what I did to cause it, and what I can do to change it.

11/10: 163.0 Non-dog walk day. Fitbit 7,901 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 34 floors. 10c water & net calories green (barely).
11/11: 164.5 That's what happens after net calories -362 and super high sodium (smoked salmon & crackers w/ hubby). Walked dog 3.86 miles & yard work prepping for winter. Fitbit 16,147 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours (day at home) & 35 floors. 14c water, need to keep that up today.
11/12: 163.5 Net calories red, sodium green, 13c water. Walked dog 2.34 miles. Fitbit 10,439 steps, 250+ steps 7/14 hours & 15 floors.
11/13: 164.0 Sometimes I wish my scale weighed in .1 increments. Oh well, as long as I can see the trend long term. Walked dog 3.28 miles. Fitbit 15,118 steps, 250+ 10/14 hours (church & watched Packers game) and 28 floors. 12c water.
11/14: 164.0 Walked dog 3.03 miles. Fitbit 14,836 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 hours (boom) & 37 floors.
11/15: 163.5 Happy w/ this after seminar 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walked dog 3.09 miles. Fitbit 11,607 steps, 250+ steps 8/14 hours & 15 floors. 11c water (pitchers on tables at seminar).
11/16: 163.0 Little surprised, I'll take it. Net calories red, sodium red, 14c water. Non-dog walk day & evening at theatre. Fitbit 8,030 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 31 floors.
11/17: 163.0 Steady is good. Net calories & sodium green, 14c water. Walked dog 3.09 miles. Fitbit 15,052 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 hours (boom) & 35 floors.
11/18: 162.0 Another surprise...maybe this was why I felt hungry. Net calories -48, sodium green & 12c water. Walked dog 3.09 miles. Fitbit 15,280 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 hours (boom) & 44 floors.
11/19: 165.0 Expected jump from parade day. Staged holiday parade in a.m. Gave myself day off from logging & to imbibe / eat whatever I wanted. Drank adult beverages, ate restaurant meal and treats at home. Totally worth it! Walked dog 2.83 miles in afternoon. Fitbit 14,794 steps, 250+ steps 9/14 hours and 19 floors.
11/20: 163.5 Net calories red 18, sodium red 647 (ack) but sugar green (yay), 12c water. Walked dog 3.26 miles. Fitbit 13,815 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 29 floors.
11/21: 162.5 Net calories & sodium green, 11c water. Walked dog 3.4 miles before work. Fitbit 15,951 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours (one hour at optometrist) & 31 floors.
11/22: 162.5 Non-dog walk day. Paced in office during webinar. Fitbit 13,083 steps, 250+steps 13/14 hours & 28 floors. Net calories, sodium, carbs all red. 13c water.
11/23 = Thanksgiving Day (US) 162.5 Walked dog 3.06 miles before work. Fitbit 15,055 steps, 250+steps 13/14 hours (one hour in church) & 40 floors. Net calories green & 12c water.
11/24: 162.5 Weight is big surprise day after Thanksgiving. A day off from logging adult beverages & food for me, and ate what I loved (just not as much), limited wine to one glass. Felt absolutely stuffed after dinner, can't eat like I used to, which is an excellent thing. Ate very small pieces of pie (couldn't resist apple & pumpkin) later for dessert and no supper, just ate hard boiled egg for late evening snack. As planned, walked dog 3 miles before travels (had 5 1/2 hours round trip in car) & drank plenty of water = 14c. Fitbit 10,102 steps, 250+ steps 5/14 hours (yikes, that was sedentary) & 5 floors.

11/20 - 145.6 /Hopefully, I can make my way down again, even with Thanksgiving and such. Ate well today. Feeling bloated and moody in anticipation of TOM.

11/20 - 157.6 ... So I think the loss is due to getting back on track with my steps (13,169) and mostly water weight. yippee!! I survived my first 2 get together advents of the season. Goal is to stay with the 5's
11/21 - 158.6 ... Still a 5!! (15,488 steps) Didn't pack a lunch but still ate well. Wasn't overly hungry but got in 1200+ calories. Working hard at trying to get it together so so busy and it's not 'gonna' slow down anytime soon.
11/22 - 157.6 ... (15,200 steps) Had cake, no idea how many calories it was. So shaved off some lunch items and had a light dinner. Got my walking in and forgot my salad dressing this morning.
11/23 - 157.7 ... (12,700) Just made my steps, hit cal goal and packed a lunch. Busy day at work filled with donuts, specialty coffees and STRESS... Happy Thanksgiving to all US friends, hope you enjoy the day, have a great dinner with family and friends and whatever happens just get back at it tomorrow!!!
11/24 - 157.0 ... (19,160) Pizza day at work. Do I opt out or just get a small piece? Extra STRESS today as SO is driving half way across the country (Canada) in a rig with landslides, road closures and winter/rain conditions. Need to hold my breath for 3 days!!

@mrsharmon622 my daughter and I are doing lazy Keto. We didn’t count carbs but we had Keto friendly foods. She did make a special request item for her college age son and regular mashed potatoes for the non-ketoers as well as cauliflower mash for us, and I made homemade dinner rolls. She was going to eat ONE roll until I figured out the carbs — 19.8 g per roll! Holy cow!! We just passed those up. Honestly, I was afraid if I ate one it would be all over and I wouldn’t be able to stop. I’m so glad I stuck to our plan! Only up .5# this morning - a normal bounce!
@ineedtomakethiswork Time to change something up?

11/19 150.0 I got on and off the scale 3 times to make sure this was real! I even took a picture! So excited because the last 4 days have included 2 potlucks and a buffet at Golden Corral for my husband’s birthday and lunch today with our daughter and her family.
11/20 151 This is okay. It occurred to me that I accidentally fasted from our meal on Friday until Saturday evening. I was visiting with a friend who is moving and realized when I got home that I had not eaten anything all day. I may incorporate a one day a week fast into my plan.
11/21 150.5 Bouncy bouncy

11/23 149.0 What a wonderful Thanksgiving with our younger daughter and her family!
11/24 149.5 Not bad at all after Thanksgiving. Didn’t stuff my self but was quite satisfied. When I thought about having some dessert in the evening I had a piece of turkey instead. This +0.5 is a normal bounce. I’m happy with it.5 -

ROUND 23 Start = 142
11/19 - 142.0 - ran 30 mins yesterday and under calories. This is the bounce, I get it.
11/20 - 140.4 - ran 33 mins yesterday, plus 2 mile hilly hike and under calories.
11/21 - 140.6 - calories almost even with .5 loss plan yesterday, small hike but that's it.
11/22 - 140.6 - major calories-in mess-up yesterday, over maintenance by a couple hundred. Felt sick and emotional much of day. Holiday approach without contact or plans with 22-yo daughter is kicking my *kitten*. No workout.
11/23 - 139.8 - woot first 130's weight since over a year ago!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Yesterday, ran and ate well under calories. Today, I plan to run and to eat at or below maintenance.
11/24 - 139.6 - Ran 4.25 miles yesterday. Healthy gourmet dinner, every dish (except the lobster) had something from his garden in it. Calories 200 below deficit.

I'm in for my second round if that's ok
Round 22 start weight - 151.40
Round 23 start weight - 145.80
I'm aiming to finish this round about 143.50.......
11/19 145.70 - only 0.1lb down but happy as its the weekend
11/20 145.80 - that 0.1lb has gone back on again but really happy as it means that I have effectively maintained over the weekend which is always a big thing! I know its wasn't fat gain but often used to "gain" 2-3 lb over a weekend so a good start for me for R23
11/21 146.00 minimal 0.2 lb on - don't know why as drank usual amount of water, did my 12 mile cycle ride, ate within my calories. But I am effectively maintaining which after my losses in the last round which were so much more than I thought, I am happy with. I am still 5.4 lbs down from where I was two weeks ago - yay!!! Non scale victory today though - put on a pair of trousers for work I haven't worn for a few weeks and they were so much looser so whatever the scale says today I have definitely lost inches so all good!!! Good food day planned and 1hr PT session tonight
11/22 145.1 -0.9lbs. Obviously last 2 days were a weekend backlash (although not totally sure why - can only be my Sunday apple crumble again!). I'm in the UK so no thanksgiving for us but a night out with the girls on Friday for chinese so salt likely to play a part over the weekend - must remember to keep drinking plenty.
11/23 144.8 another .30 lb gone. Feeling motivated at the minute - not sure why or how or whats different? Maybe its coming on here every day and "checking in" and seeing everyone else's comments - not sure. But feeling motivated, feeling good.
11/24 144.80 so STS. Chinese with the girls tonight - intending to stay focused and not go mad! Also driving tonight so alcohol not a problem - going to drink plenty of sparkling water

Planning ahead for a small splurge but mostly healthy on TG. We've taken to having sweet potatoes without the sugar & butter (and I love them neat anyway), and I limit the stuffing and make my own cranberry sauce with chopped apple in place of sugar (I'm the only one who eats it, and I like it this way). So the big splurge is pie, and I minimize how much we have. Luckily by hubby isn't a big sweet eater. (To get my pumpkin fix this time of year, I get pumpkin butter and mix a Tbsp into cottage cheese or plain yogurt - yummy!) Everything else in our main dinner is healthy. The past three years I've run a 5K on TG morning, but we're in a different place and I didn't enter a race, so, unless it's pouring rain, I'll do my own private turkey trot. :-) I plan to enjoy TG without overdosing.
11/20 - 147.8
Went out for a ginormous (though healthy) breakfast yesterday, then had an apple for lunch and a light supper, so I didn't go over my goal, but did, I'm sure, get more sodium than usual. So this is fine.
11/21 - 148.2
Aha! There's my big, probably high sodium Sunday breakfast! Ok, moving right along...
11/22 - 149.2
Uck. OTOH, I'm under 150. I may give myself a little weigh-in break the next few days so the likely small gain on TG won't make me crazy. We'll see,
11/23 - 148.6
Ok, I have a pretty healthy day planned, so I will keep weighing after all. I will have some pumpkin pie, but the sweet potatoes are sans sugar and butter, and I'm skipping the stuffing. I have been a little careless this week, so no surprise that I'm up slightly, and I won't be surprised if I don't lose anything this round. Holding steady through the holidays is fine. Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving!
11/24 - 148.5
Well, there's a surprise! I didn't exactly pig out yesterday, but I did eat more than usual. Today is very healthy leftovers + a piece of pie. And a walk - finally a day without rain!

11/23 - 161.4 - up a bit which was disappointing because I was so close to getting under 160. Walked 3 miles today so maybe that will help with Thanksgiving. Thought I would focus on turkey, gravy, beans, dressing and a dessert the size of my fist. Should help.
11/24 - 162.4lbs. Again, not surprising. Stuck to my plan yesterday so that helped control the damage. Now to get back on track.5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 138.8 OK this is fine. Happy Sunday everyone! I’m out all day volunteering at a Santa Claus Parade, so busy busy today!
11/20 136.4 This is a blip and will probably bounce back up tomorrow. Although I had a big breakfast yesterday I was out all day volunteering for a Santa Claus Parade and didn’t eat much dinner but did have couple of glasses of wine. Let’s see how it goes.........
11/21 138.4 Knew yesterday weigh in was a fluke lol But that’s fine. Today has been an ok day, ate well but have had cluster headache now for 2 days
11/22 138.8 Yesterday was a good day for eating. Headache gone.... yay! Back to the gym for the rest of the week, be it home gym or gym in town either way I will work out!
11/23 138.6 Feeling good, this challenge is definitely making me think about what I’m eating especially in the evenings. It’s exactly what I needed to get the weight off I’ve put on this year. Let’s keep going............
11/24 137.8 OK I got on and off the scale a few times ???? It kept changing but not by much, maybe needs new batteries lol But I'll take this and see what happens tomorrow!

Well, not looking forward to weighing in the morning. Leftovers twice today, and I meant to not eat the dressing, but it was too tempting and too hard to let it go to waste. Calories were over pretty high, but still not near what I ate previous years. My portions were small, but the foods are just high calorie. Tomorrow, only sandwiches out of the leftovers- no dressing, mac n cheese, sweet potato souffle, or other high calorie goodies.7

I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Change in focus. In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
New Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs.
I was ill most of Round 22, but achieved my goal.
Of course, losing a pound a Round would be ace, as I would like a cushion for celebrations.
to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me an element of daily accountability which is motivational.
Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

11/19 - 241.0 - Yesterday wasn't a great exercise day, but today will be better.
11/20 - 242.6 - I have been totally out of control this past week. Really trying to get my stuff together and get back on track this week. Thanksgiving will make it tricky, but I've decided I need something to work toward, so I'm researching 5k races. Tomorrow WILL be better.
11/21 - 239.4 - Back on track! And that marks 30 pounds since 9/12/17! TOM may mess things up, but I'm going to have another good day today!!
11/22 - 239.2 - Was hoping for more loss, but I'll take it!
11/23 - 239.4 - Hoping I can try to stay on track today!
11/24 - 242.0 - Ugh, Thanksgiving. The next few days are going to get worse before they get better

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 - 149.16 This should be normal fluctuation since I have been sticking with the plan. Went to the pub for a drink last night, but we walk there and back which is about .5 mile. The cold and early darkness is making it difficult to get my walks in, but I am determined to keep at it as long as I'm able.
11/20 - 148.28 I hope I don't bounce up and down all round again.
11/21 - 148.28 Was surprised to see this number again today. I've been getting really munchie late at night but resisting the urge to eat more. I might try moving dinner an hour later and see if it helps.
11/22 - 148.06 Had pizza as a treat for dinner. It was well within my calories so I should be ok.
11/23 - 148.94 My sciatica has flared up. Trying to do light stretches to easy some of the pain.
11/24 - 147.84 We are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, and I think I am going to give myself a day off monitoring every little bite and just enjoy my meal. I don't plan to go wild, but I will be enjoying a slice of pecan pie.

11/19: 163.5 Nice little drop there.
11/20: 164.9 Grrr. I am not surprised. Started a new level on my weights this weekend and went to get a massage yesterday. Had some wine and a delicious dinner afterwards. I am sore all over! Focus is on the water today.
11/21: 164.6 I've stopped tracking; need to start that up again as I think it will help me with eating better foods at a deficit (instead of maintaining, which is what I have been doing). Had a good run on the treadmill last night. I am starting to feel my muscles again!
11/22: 164.3 Had a nice mini hike with my son yesterday. We went to his favorite pizza place and I managed to order a half spinach salad instead of the slice. Really did not want to see a bounce up today! lol Prepping for dinner tomorrow... stuffing, pie, and veggies are on my list.
11/23: 165.4 Okay, I have to keep reminding myself it is not about the number... but about my mindset and the changes I am making. I allow myself one plate today and one tomorrow and will get plenty of water, and plenty of exercise. Happy Thanksgiving!
11/24: 164.3 Nice. I was able to monitor myself pretty well. Yesterday I did my weights and 20 minutes on my elliptical before I headed over to my parents' house. Limited myself to one plate and I felt exhausted after eating all those carbs! It was quite delicious, though. Back on track today; went to the gym and ran 3 miles.7
