    I'm in, I'll try for 200.

I'm not off to a good start however, I intended to ride to work today and went out in the garage to find a stupid flat. I ended up driving today.

Did you try to inflate the tire, and it wouldn't inflate?

Ask someone at your local bike shop (LBS) to show you how to change your tube. It makes all the difference!

My goal for August is 1000 miles. No, I'm not showing off...it's all relative. Any extra motivation I can get is helpful. Good luck to everyone with your goals. IMHO cycling is the best exercise there is. I've been riding and racing for 30+ years.

Wow, that is INTENSE. How much time do you spend on the bike per week? Do you ride an indoor trainer as well?

I ride to work pretty much everyday which gives me about 180 during the work week. Then I get 90-100 on the weekend. A good week is close to 300, and a bad week is closer to 200 if it's raining or if I have early meetings. I try to keep it consistent. I hate indoor trainers so I avoid doing that at all cost.

That's a lot of commuting! I start my new job in another 6 weeks, and I'm looking forward to my 20 mile (total) daily bike commute. I've always hated trainers as well, but I'm moving to someplace completely flat and I don't see another way of getting in hill workouts...

20 miles roundtrip is still a good amount of mileage. Just let half the air out of your tires, that'll make it feel like you're going up hill all the time.

You should move out here to Southern California...we have flat, mountains, coast, desert, pretty much everything a cyclist could want.

Ha! My dad lives in Encinitas, CA--I have suffered greatly on the surrounding hills.

Road 9 more miles tonight; total of 53 miles for August. Keep on riding...

Dad is stable, but still losing blood. They are running tests now to determine the cause; should know more later in the week.

Wow...we have some serious cyclists on here! It's cool to see everyone's goals. I got in a 24 mile ride despite the temps/humidity. We were under a "heat warning" until 8pm tonight. I started my ride at 9am, so it wasn't quite so hot yet.

Took me a few days to get my first ride in this month, but here it is.

    August 3rd Miles = 14.58

Hoping to get another few rides in over the next week of about the same distance. Keep those wheels moving everyone!

Road 17 miles tonight; 70 miles for the month. Suppose to be more cool the rest of the week, so that will help.

Great riding everyone; keep it up.

Road 20 miles this morning; 91 miles for the month, thanks to the miracles of rounding. Much cooler today; hoping to ride another 15 or so tonight.

    Try Try again!

Took a nice ride with DH around the neighborhood tonight after dinner. Hopefully we will get a long ride in together this weekend.

How do I update the ticker without having to create it all over again? On my blog I would just click on it and it would take me to the Tickerfactory page where I could easily update...on this page I can't seem to do that!

    Help please!

Took advantage of cooler temps/lower humidity and rode 15 miles of the bike trail in town with my sister today. I'm not used to riding bike trails, I usually ride county highways, and prefer that for sure. I need to take my bike in for some maintenance - rear view mirror is broke, gears shifting hard, slow leak in my rear tire or tube, odometer isn't working quite right...

Started feeling a cold coming on Tuesday night so I'm a little behind, but should finish this week with about 220. I'll have to make up some ground the rest of the month. Hate getting sick.

Never wanted to post in these threads because I was afraid folks would think I was showing off. But after the guy who is planning on doing 1000 miles this month alone, I felt humbled. :-)

Posted 30 on Tues night and 25 last night. Total Aug miles so far: 55.

I am not counting indoor cycling, which I do twice a week for 1:00 to 1:15 hrs.

Also planning a century for the end of the month (my 3rd this year).

All said and done, I should get to around 250 to 300 this month. I am up to about 1000 since April.

Yeah, but the only reason I can do that is because I have no life. Ride, work, ride, eat, bed...that's my day. Woohoo!! :)

Another small ride this evening...better something than nothing!

Still wondering if there is a way to update my ticker rather than re-create it each time...anyone?

    Thanks!
