Peanut Butter makes me sad...

I'm always a little deflated when I realize how little peanut butter 30 grams turns out to be. It's barely enough for 1/2 a sandwich and with 1 slice of breads logs in at just shy of 250 calories.
But today I decided it was worth it.

Most spreadable things are disappointing for that reason, imo5

I have some on my bread every single day. Still looking forward to having it each day! I don't care for cookies, chips or any of it if this is on the menu.3

I love peanutbutter...have you tried pbfit? its powdered peanutbutter and while its NOT as good as the real deal its a nice alternative.7
-
I switched to powdered peanut butter, I use the chocolate one too. I like it0

I use peanut flour (cheaper than pbfit). I find that I need a little fat though. I usually mix 12 grams of the peanut flour with 8 grams of peanut butter and water to the desired consistency. It is around 90 calories for a decent size serving of peanut butter.

I’m the opposite. I find 30g more than enough. Especially if you’re making 1/2 a sandwich.13

PB2 is an alternative for us PB lovers!4

How nice for you.22 -
Where I live in Ohio Kroger sells the best peanut butter. it is called Roasted peanuts with honey. Serving size 180 calories and 11 gym carbohydrates. I eat a sandwich every day0

Peanut butter is a trigger food for me. I can't eat just a little so I try to avoid it.7
-
I eat 33g every morning on one slice of bread, I feel it's the perfect amount. I think i look forward to my morning PB more than my morning coffee6
-
I also do powdered pb...maybe if it's not as tasty as you like, you could mix together1/2 real and 1/2 powdered?0
-
I have seen the powdered PB that's been mentioned above. I can't wrap my mind around how it works. Is it just the flavor? I'm trying to imagine my poor bread with sprinkles of powdered flavored PB. THAT makes me sad.2

Yes. It’s a 2:1 ratio of water to powder. I was really unsure so I made brownies (it was a “healthier” version, please don’t judge lol) so that If I didn’t like the taste it wouldn’t be the star of the show like a peanut butter sandwich would be. If you’re unsure you can try a smoothie with it!! The chocolate pb is pretty tasty1

All nut butters make me sad, I could eat a whole jar with a spoon.8

I use PB2 with Chocolate exactly for that reason. Peanut Butter calories are ridiculous.0

If it is worth it to you at that time is the important part.
I get regular old peanut butter and feel okay with 32 grams for a sandwich (made with 2 slices of normal whole what bread) occasionally. Peanut butter is not devoid of all nutrients. It tastes good and is fairly satisfying.
I could eat a whole big bowl of guacamole and an actual portion size that would fit my calorie goal and let me eat other food looks a bit sad so I don't eat it daily. Sometimes it is worth it.
I used to eat a lot of saltine crackers. They are rarely worth the calories.

I used to do that when I was young. Got me through some pretty financially lean times in college.6 -

Yes you mix it with water to make it pastey.
A lower cal alternative.0 -
Meridian crunchy peanut butter is the best, try rice crackers or water biscuits, take with at least 2 glasses of water, filling and good for you.1

No...fat is just removed. Do you want alternatives...help or magically hate peanut butter?3 -
I've actually recently found out that 1 tablespoon on a Quaker lightly salted rice cake is really good and satisfying. I actually put the rice cake on a scale and zero it out and then measure out in grams the amount of peanut butter so it's a lot easier0

i love chunky peanut butter and a stick of boudin sourdough. just give me a spoon. if it isn't sourdough from the sf bay area you might as well use rye bread.0

I’m a peanut butter addict and i pb toast a few times a week for breakfast. I’ve found that the jiff whips offer me a lot more volume for spreading. I know it’s not the all natural stuff and is loaded with sugar but I love it.3

I made this one because I tend to cycle through 3 standard breakfast items and was considering adding peanut butter on toast. I think it would be great for that, but too much for me to grab as a snack. Honestly, I could eat hundreds of calories worth without even trying.
I hadn't thought of the whips either, but it's a good idea.2 -

Who eats just half a sandwich?
I don't even buy peanut butter anymore, i have no restraint. I used to add around 20g to my smoothies, but all i got out of that was extra calories and no peanut buttery taste, as 20g is a pathetically small amount! :sad:4
