Back in after an extended holiday hiatus. Had a great time with friends, family, and fooood! Less than 3 pound holiday gain, so not too shabby. Well worth the slight setback.

Let's keep going!

Trying something new, not going to post daily numbers, just starting weight for the round just whether today's scale is a loss or gain compared to the previous day.

1/8 - loss - didn't make my step, or my water goals but I did make everything I ate today and I'll take it as a plus. Also bonus it's less freezing now

1/9 - loss - busy day forgot to post
1/10 - loss - tried my darndest to get my steps, 500 short. Better 500 short than 5,000. I need to figure out how to get that extra bit when I'm too busy to walk at lunch.
1/11 - loss - I didn't eat the donuts someone brought in to work, it all I got for today but I'll take this small victory
1/12 - loss - the extra walk after work still didn't get me to my step goal. Will try again tomorrow, even if it's -20...well I will at least go for a short walk.
1/13 - loss - I did go for a walk, it was cold but sunny and it was only to the subway so it's not amazing but I did go outside. Sunshine in January is misleading. Kept under my calories so that's good and limited the coffee to only half the pot. Trying to drink less coffee, it's harder than stopping alcohol personally. Fingers crossed for warmer weather!

1/9 • 123.5 lbs • the worst day for this month so far. Didn’t go to gym, didn’t eat well.

01/12 • 122.2 lbs • cardio cardio yay! Need to add more time on cardio next week. Hope it is not a temporary number.
01/13 • 123 lbs • don’t know why! My blood pressure went too low in the morning yesterday . Should measure the blood pressure before taking the meds. Oh well... I’ve had low carbs high fat high protein diet lately. Wondering if I should reduce the fat and meat and increase veggies and fibers? Today is my cheat day so I had whatever I love: chocolate croissant, port belly. It is good to have a cheat day so I don’t feel too deprived. Or I just love food and enjoy life too much? I know the weight will go up tomorrow. Hope it is not going to be horrible.

- WHAAAAT? Now that's a surprise, I'm truly puzzled as I ate over my calories yesterday... I was unstoppable, like a bottomless pit, nothing junky. The only thing I changed was having dinner early, a decision to try to break the frenzy snacking. It seemed to work, but it's really making me wonder about how my body works.

01/13 - 100 on the dot.

Stepped on the scale 4 times, it would oscillate between 99.8 and 100 but settle on the latter. This is crazy - I mean literally crazy. I had lunch with a client, I had a nut bar late last night as I was too hungry, ate my regular meals correctly, drank my water. I remember the effort it took for me to get to this weight before and now my body decides to skip all the steps and get straight to business? I'll take it, I just hope it lasts

01/14 - 100.2 - expected! I feel I didn't eat enough fat and too many carbs... just as long as it doesn't go up more with the weekend looming ugh!

Long-term Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
December was a very indulgent month. This round, I am focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.

to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.

Observations, and Previous Rounds

Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!

A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:

Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.

Don't beat yourself up over a temporary gain. Trust the process and stick with the programme.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

1/10 - 12st 6.9 I never stick to calories when the inlaws are here (every tues/wed) Im just going to have to cut calories the other days…
1/11 - 12st 6.7 Im definitely going to have a gain tomorrow though. Today is likely dehydration.
1/12 - 12st 6.5 maybe not! Done a lot of walking today so don’t know what will happen tomorrow

Of course I'm in for this next round. I'll be going back to work on Monday after two weeks off for the holiday.

Start Weight: 202 lbs
Finished Round 27 at 161.8 lbs.
Round 28: 161.6 lbs.
GW: 160.6 lbs.
UGW: 125 lbs.

01/08: 161.6 I lost 2 oz in 4 days even with biking. That's okay though. A loss is a loss, and I'll take it. My weight loss is starting to slow down now. On the bright side, I went from a size 18 to a size 12 in pants.

01/09: 162.2 So, it was my first day back to work since Christmas break, and I am off for the rest of the week. This lady has the flu.

01/10: 161.6 Happy Birthday to everyone that I saw is having one this week.

I'm hanging in, but feel blah.
01/11: 160.4 So, I don't know if I mentioned this, but my oldest son started middle school last year. He has been bullied non-stop for a year and a half. By bullied, I mean punched, kicked, lunch stolen and dumped out, slammed into lockers so his braces broke, sax stomped on 6 different times by the same kid and broke, and people telling him that they hoped his Grandma with cancer died, which you all know she did pass before Thanksgiving. The HUGE decision I made last week was whether or not to transfer him. Well, my husband and I decided to, and the last 3 days I haven't seen a single tear. He has been happy. I am grateful and hope it stays the course. On another note, I still hurt everywhere and feel not so hot, but my number dropped. That was with me hitting my calories right on the nose, and drinking 52 oz of liquid despite being sick.
1/12: 158.6 I have continued to push fluids and eat despite not wanting to do either. We also had a lot of freezing rain, so my kiddos schools are closed and mine is too. On side note, I haven't seen a number this low since I was pregnant with my first child back in 2003 and gained it to get to that number. Lol
1/13: 159.4 I managed to keep food down yesterday. I'm hoping the near is in sight now. I'm also hoping that the 50's hold. I've longed to see this number, and these last few pounds have been wanting to stay with me for awhile.
1/14 Started on some Zpack yesterday. Got sick while already sick. Ugh. The medicine doesn't agree with my stomach either. One day at a time though. I'll get there.

So the last round I finally recovered a bit from the two previous rounds which where just brutal (I blame the gain on a mixture of: PMS, broken ribs and holiday goodies). I'm feeling even more motivated now and am optimistic that this will continue as I look forward to attending a very important wedding in September. It is essential that I lose 20 lbs before then (but my real goal is 27!)

1/8 216.3 It's my birthday!! Hoping to not over indulge too much, but I know there will be some! My mother wants to take me to lunch and my husband and son want to go out to dinner, so will need to make good choices today. Or not, and not beat myself up about it tomorrow!
1/9 217.8 Yep, I knew it! So much sodium! And other not so good things, like cupcakes. Time to drink lots of water and Exercise!

1/12 216.9 Ok, so I have to be honest, I weighed myself 3 different times and got three different numbers. I went with the middle number for recording proposes.
1/13 216.9 This was the one and only number that came up this morning. I'm still up from the start of this challenge, but only by 0.6, so not upset by that, especially since my eating has not been the best. And there are still four days to go!
1/14 216.9 Ate better, did a bit of exercise, but need to drink more water. Today is a new day.

I started a yoga program, it’s about 20mins daily.. It is not something big or difficult, but it reminds me I need to move more!

1/8 - 177 - over 200cals yesterday, 8 glasses of water, 20mins yoga.. a good day overall, but with a gain..
1/9 - 177.9 – under cals, 10 glasses of water, 20mins yoga.. definitely wrong direction, but since I count everything I guess I just have to be patient.. I bought a new scale so let’s see what ll happen tomorrow!
1/10 - 177.7 - so my new scale was gentle with me.. cals on point, water on point, yoga on point.. keep going..
1/11 - 177 - Happy about that! Although I really want to see 175 again..
1/12 - 175.7 - Yay!! I keep thinking how frustrated I would be if I didn’t weigh in daily.. I d see a 0.2 drop in 5 days.. but now I m over the moon!
1/13 - 175 - I’ll have 1-2 drinks tonight, I’ll try to fit it to my calorie goal, but I don’t know what to expect tomorrow!
1/14 - 174.4 - I love this number! Did well yesterday, just a glass of white wine, but didn’t get enough sleep and I feel dehydrated..
