1. Rediscovered how much I enjoy rowing (indoor erg) after finding myself with more free time not able to do any lifting after aggravating a pectoral strain last Sunday. Was out of sorts feeling like I couldn't workout properly, now looking forward to getting back into rowing regularly and incorporate it into my lifting schedule when I can get back under the bar in a few weeks (hopefully).
2. Helped my friend move his pool table yesterday, needed to center it in the room and then rotate it ~45deg to allow for the best use of the space/doorways. Once we centered the box I was able to effectively deadlift the whole thing and rotate it about its center. Just felt good to lift something heavy.18 -

Went downhill skiing with my family yesterday for the first time after many many years. Darn, 70 lb lighter feels so good! I was able to go down the slope seven times in a couple of hours we spent there and not fall even a single time Mind you, it was one of the easier slopes but still Could have done more runs if it wasn't for the kids who were ready to go home.
Happy happy, rediscovering winter sports. Definitely will plan to go again during this winter season!21 -
Second NSV of the weekend:
My SO has a kettlebell roughly the weight that I've lost (50 lbs). I picked it up for reference and was mind blown about how heavy it was. Losing that weight slowly means that you don't realize the full impact of it until something like this happens. I told him that I couldn't believe how heavy it was and couldn't figure out where it all came from.
His response? That I used to complain of something hurting EVERY time he talked to me and I don't, anymore. That I'm lighter on my feet and stand up straighter and that the weight loss might not be noticeable to me but is noticeable to everyone around me in the way that I *carry* myself.36 -
I really did not want to go to the gym today. I went over every excuse I could think of. But then I changed my clothes and put my shoes on anyway and before I knew it I was walking out the door. And I had a good workout and thought “why was I trying not to go?” And I’m proud of that.32

So true. There are many days when I'd rather stay in bed than go to the gym but once I go, I never regret it.

My pants are loose, even AFTER coming right out of the laundry! They used to be getting tight. Wheeeeee!28

So much energy! Played tennis with the wife and she got tired before I did. And I no longer feel like I just want to sleep all day on the weekends. Today is Monday, and I usually feel like death and just want to go home and lay on the couch, but today I'm actually sort of looking forward to a workout.18

My wedding rings are looser!
I have had to squeeze them on and screw them off my pudgy fingers since my second pregnancy, they were so tight I stopped wearing them for a while.
Yesterday I noticed my engagement ring turning on my finger when I went for a (very slow) jog and today in work I found myself playing with them taking them on and off absentmindedly.
So happy and proud of myself and my slightly skinnier fingers!19 -

Good job!!!
I haven't been able to take off my wedding rings for years now. I hope to be able to do so by our tenth wedding anniversary this summer.
That sounds funny! But I want to get them cleaned for the first time ever in celebration.9 -
At the gym today the young twenty something personal trainer with the big smile (you know him, every gym has one) is swearing at the computer behind the check-in desk. Seems someone messed up his excel spreadsheet and after chatting with him for a second it was obvious what the problem was. I began to tell him how to fix it but he beckoned me back behind the desk, lowered the standing workstation with the computer on it to my height and asked me to just fix it because if he didn’t get it to accounting before 2pm he wouldn’t be paid for two more weeks. He shot me a big up and personal grin which warmed up into a full blown smile when I began to put it right.
Then a gym patron came in. About my age (mid 50’s) she wanted to start with a personal trainer in February. But she was unsure how to pick one that would be a good match for her. Before this young Adonis could start his sales pitch she said: ” I mean you are both personal trainers here, right...”. She kept talking, but I honestly didn’t hear a word.
Ok, my position behind the gym desk and computer obviously played a part here... but wow. I felt SO good, ( and kinda young!).50 -
I went clothes shopping in the weekend and fit into sample clothing - totally blew my mind. That's three wins in one - tiny clothes, before anyone else gets them (and possibly one-offs if the brand decides not to put them into production), and ridiculously cheap to boot.22

When I started using my exercise bike (about a year ago) I had a slight issue with my belly getting in the way. If I wanted to lean forward at all, I'd have to *ahem* spread my legs a little meaning my knees were in a bit of a funny position.
Anyway, I've had a few months away from it (because I've been exercising OUTSIDE!) but got on it this morning as I don't fancy facing the cold today. About halfway done it occurs to me that my legs are straight and there's no belly getting in the way
Also, my heartbeat was way down on where it would be when I first started......34 -
Really cold and icy here, yesterday.
I'm up for walking in cold - but, after, my fall, not in ice!
So, instead, I shoveled snow.
For 90 minutes, I shoveled - I did the entire side-load driveway, sidewalks, front door path... and since I wasn't 'done,' I went ahead and did a path around the side of the house to the back door -- and from there to the dog's favorite sniffin' spots.
So, yeah.
I shoveled snow!30 -
Two for today, one was that I worked out yesterday even though I wasn't planning to (instead of just hanging around on the couch)
The next one is that when I worked out, my pants that have been too too tight since I bought them were only just a little tight! Only down a few pounds so far so that was a nice surprise

Last night at the gym: There is a young woman with an impressive workout ethic. She came over to me and asked how long I have been working out. We chatted and she told me I was a beast.

Just been told that I am disappearing and I don't look like me anymore!
I was pootling around the canteen looking for a boredom killer aka chocolate and this lady told me 'not to cos I have done so well'.
And as she did ask what I was doing I said just counting calories and I have 800 left today so chocolate is fine and dandy She did look a tad horrified haha. Chocolate!!! how very dare I.
She is lovely though and am mega chuffed with her comments
(I didn't buy chocolate in the end - came back to desk and had a couple of millionaire bites that were on colleagues desk as birthday treats - open for office)28 -
pulled a shirt out the closet i was waiting to wear. still had the tags on it. It Fits now!28

I've looked at the same massive chocolate chip cookie on the counter for the past 3 days and haven't touched it. That's real!29
