Here's a weird one. Back in June when I first started running my resting heart rate averaged around 67-70 and sometimes ventures even higher. For the past week it's been holding steady at 59!23

I went new clothes shopping for the first time in 2 years (don’t wanna spend that $$ If you’re going to gain the weight back... so I waited a while22

Had a lunch meeting at work today, food from my favorite pizza place. I had a salad. Did not even start to reach for a slice.19

My gf told me that my heartbeat is way slower than it used to be (she can hear it when snuggling ) so I timed it. nothing to base it on from heaviest weight but it is at 56 beats per minute at rest. Am chuffed with that!!
Also, was whisking eggs for omelette last night and realised I no longer get achy arm and out of breath doing it! Mental! but I can remember struggling to whisk them properly at one point!20 -

I'm sure this sounds very silly, but lately I've been noticing some muscles in my belly area and obliques that I didn't see before and it's just fun to flex my belly in different ways in the mirror to see how they move My skin is also starting to fold in a different way (rather with more smaller folds than a few bigger ones). It's a lot of fun seeing these changes!22

Went out for lunch today, ordered a burger which came with home fries, ate some but able to leave a fair percentage on the plate without feeling deprived28

Ran a mile on the track without checking my pace on my fitbit.... Ran it in 10:55! That's a whole minute faster than my previous mile. I think I underestimate how fast I can actually run when I set my pace on a treadmill, or I constantly check my fitbit.27

This is from one year working at the gym (joined on my 50th birthday--first time EVER working out or even stepping foot in a gym). I don't have a 'before' picture of my back but will show you my front shot--just assume my back is all soft and doughy-like. (-135 lbs lost--hence the loose skin over my bra).
Wow! Amazing transformation!!! So incredibly inspiring.
My NSV today was getting up at 4:50am to work out. It was so hard getting out of bed today...and so cold! But I warned up quickly.
I couldn't agree more. When I first saw this post several months ago I was so astonished that I was tempted to 'Woo' it as '*Kitten* off there's no way that's the same person!' Congratulations again this is an unbelievable transformation and incredibly inspirational.0 -
I went to a coffee shop with coworkers today and just ordered a drip coffee, rather than something frothy and calorific.15

I'm up for walking in cold - but, after, my fall, not in ice!
So, instead, I shoveled snow.
For 90 minutes, I shoveled - I did the entire side-load driveway, sidewalks, front door path... and since I wasn't 'done,' I went ahead and did a path around the side of the house to the back door -- and from there to the dog's favorite sniffin' spots.
So, yeah.
I shoveled snow!
Snow-shoveling - one crazy form of exercise! Go you!!

Reminded myself I am wearing a skirt today (and off and on have been for the last 18 months) that I could not wear for years. I always focus too much on the goals looming in front of me that I forget about the achievements behind me.

Fashion NSV. I can officially declare myself a petite size. At 5'2" I have technically always been in the petite category. But while I was big, I never wore any petite size clothes. Any petite size pants I tried won't fit unless I bought pants 2 times larger than my size but then it looked ridiculous on me. I always purchased regular size pants. Now that I lost some weight, especially around the hips( huge problem area) regular size pants are too long and I can now shop in the petite section. Also, I'm not sure if I'm the only one having fun with this weight loss process, I may not be at my goal weight or normal BMI but I am in love with my lower weight physique. As someone who is easily bored and enjoys varieties, I'm having a blast experimenting with different fashion styles. I'm going to go crazy when I get to my goal weight. Oh it's the little things29

Someone on these forums posted a video yesterday about foot placement which involved pressing your big toe into the ground, I tried it and it really helped me. I tend to "taco" forwards when I squat heavy and shifting my weight as they suggested worked wonders, no more accidental good mornings!
I have also found that putting 2.5# plates under my heels helps my form on squats immensely... just another thought if you are still experimenting. Congratulations on the size 8 and the jump in weight on the squats!

I usually can lay my phone on top of my stomach while reclining on a chair so I can type on my computer. I just set it there and it slid off onto my lap! Now I guess I will put it on my chest.
I know that is sort of sad and small but, none the less - NSV!21 -
I ran 30 minutes without pause at the gym this morning. Trying to get into condition by the beginning of 5k season in the Midwest.13

Below freezing, again, yesterday.
I woke up late, to a grey, lowering sky and blowing trees. Thought of all the reasons I didn't need to go for a walk.
Got to lunch time.
I looked out the window - The sun was shining, the ice on the south-facing side of the street was almost all melted, and the dog reminded me, imploringly, that he had already had a rest day...
So, I bundled up, and off we went.
We walked through the neighborhood, in case the wind kicked up. I walked back and forth in the off-leash area, but my Fitbit did not buzz, and did not buzz, and did not buzz (to tell me I had reached my step goal). Then it did buzz, and I said to the dog, 'Well, we're already headed away from the house; it would be silly to turn around now. Guess we should keep going, the long way.'
So, we did.
Ended the day with over 15,000 steps and a new gold trophy from Endomondo: New personal best distance of 4.98 miles.
(Maybe that's just from 2018?)
So, the NSV is that I thought of lots of reasons not to walk, and I walked anyway.
I started back in mid-December... Maybe making excuses - and thinking I don't enjoy exercise - is a habit I'm ready to outgrow?

But then I changed my clothes and put my shoes on anyway and before I knew it I was walking out the door. And I had a good workout and thought “why was I trying not to go?” And I’m proud of that.
Me too so rather than skip entirely I went and walked for 40 minutes.10 -
Was walking by a mirror and noticed my cheek bones, they are more defined. I have been noticing them a lot lately in the background actually. I don’t really remember that from this weight previously, but since it is the lowest weight I have been at generally in adult life I am kind of curious about what they will look like 20 lbs from now. Cheek bone anticipation!!!18

This whole weight loss/fitness thing is a lot more complicated that 'just' dropping pounds!
Things crop up at the oddest moments...
My NSV seems simple: I wore sweat pants to the dog park.
I bought them on impulse a couple of years ago, washed them, and could never quite bear to wear them. Today, I put them on. They clung to my belly, and probably showed every extra pound - but, still, I put them on. Then, I wore them out in public. It's the first time I have worn sweats in public since I was a thirteen-year-old running cross country and hurdles, when my mom told me that my muscular butt and thighs were grotesque, and that I should never _ever_ wear sweats.
I quit running track.
Late college nights, dance classes, two babies, pneumonia, flu -- I've never worn sweats.
I'm 52 years old.
And today, I wore sweat pants in public.

Yesterday we had our ac/heating system replaced. It was cold inside (50) so I was wearing a sweater and heavy jacket all day. The installer asked if the pictures on the wall of the woman fishing was me. When I said yes, he said "Wow! You've lost a lot of weight! You're skinny now."18

Yesterday I went in to Victoria's Secret because they are having a sale on their workout leggings. I have not been able to wear anything from there since my early 20s. I found some cute leggings and grabbed a size large, telling myself that their stuff runs pretty small and they probably won't fit . Gave myself a pep talk about how I'm so close to fitting in them, it will happen soon. Well, they were too big! Walked out with a size medium and a new addiction to their leggings (which are amazing quality if you're a leggings gal!).27

Outside temps made it above freezing today, so I walked around my work building and parking lot at lunch for 30 minutes. My NSV was four times I broke into a jog for about 50-75 yards each time, which is a first for me! Felt real good, too.21
