01/18 189.2 I'm on Snow Day #2, determined to conquer the urge to snack all day. I'm thankful I don't have a bunch of junk in my pantry!
01/19 188.8 I should've eaten more veggies yesterday, but I did good on water and exercise (35 min walk/run, arm resistance workout, 10 minute stair climber).
01/20 189.6 Probably had too much salt yesterday… I feel really good, though. I resisted a donut breakfast at work, passed on the sweet tea and chips at lunch, and went to the gym last night. I NEVER go to the gym at night bc I always feel drained after work, but I went anyway and had a pretty good workout!

11/30 252.2 -- A counselor once tried to get me to recognize that, when my own behaviors do not match what I believe is right, it makes me unhappy. She recommended I try to bring my behaviors in sync with my beliefs. I’m learning now that she’s right even when it comes to food. When I eat what I think I ought I feel better about myself and I’m happier. I truly recognize it when I am in the breach as last night. This morning I have a sliced-bread hangover.

01/19 - 253.4 -- Cool. A month and a half later and I’m still in the low 250s. I’ll take it!!
01/20 - 253.6 -- Life has changed so much with moving to a place with a contract for daily dinners. I need to figure out a different way to keep track of how much I eat since I can’t weigh portions or control ingredients.

I'm back. Let's see if I can get down to 160 at least even though my "new" low is 158. The slower it comes off the more likely it will stay off. I just lost a lot very fast due to having the flu and sinus issues. Good luck ladies and gents.

1/20-135. Have stayed within my 1200 calories, drinking my water, brisk 30 minute walk yesterday. Frustrated with the scale but not giving up. I'm thankful for this MFP group keeping me on track. 2 birthday parties today...but I am determined.7 -

December was a very indulgent month. This round, I am focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.

This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.
Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

I’m in. Goal is to lose 3 pounds. I have been slacking off for months now and not making any real progress. I gained about 10 pounds since the summertime. I need to work hard and get back to where I was over the summer because I think that’s where I want to maintain. Just wanted to vent/share.

01/19 = 216.4. Played basketball last night and burned more than 1000 calories. Getting into the groove getting under my calorie goals. Drinking tons of water.
01/20 = 216.8. Stay calm, me. Fluctuations are not an issue. I had 1/2 a beer last night and went out to lunch with co-workers (though didn't do too badly). I'm totally on-track, I just need to keep showing up (being accountable). Basketball in an hour and a half (GOOD!!!), brother-in-law's baby shower all day (ROUGH!!!). I. Can. Do. This. Moderation, listen to my body (re: food/hunger), stay accountable. Breathe.
