Hi Everyone! Back again for daily weight tracking. It was one of the key factors in getting me where I am and I expect it's going to be key in keeping me there.

GW - 145 - blew past this in mid October
I've been maintaining nicely under 145...feel great when my rolling 7 day avg is around 143-143.5. I'm going to stick with trying to keep it here for the next couple of weeks while work is nuts. Once Feb hits and things settle a bit and I have more work from home time I'm going to set some new goals...maybe to loose 5 more or just work on re-comping and some higher fitness goals.

Stress makes my body hold on to junk....after I got the show set up wrapped up last night I could feel it start to release. The next couple of months should be lighter work wise so I'm ready to re-focus on my fitness!!
01/27 - 145.0 - finishing off the round with a rolling 7 day avg of 145.2...not my best effort but I'm confident I'll get back on track with re-establishing my non-chaotic freelance schedule routine starting Monday. It's so much easier to fit in runs and workouts when I'm not working crazy hours.

Sigh. I did eat over my goal yesterday, although not by much. I was hungry. I really struggle with being hungry at night. I'm thinking of trying a bigger breakfast with lots of protein & good fat, which always holds me over most of the day, so I eat less at lunch and dinner. I'm avoiding "shoulds," so no "should not eat after dinner" for me. I just end up breaking my rule and feeling bad about it. I know I do better in terms of both hunger and weight loss on the days when I have a big breakfast or lunch and skip dinner, then eat 300 or so healthy calories later. (Thinking onscreen here ).

Yep, just a homebody. However, I measured my waist this morning and I'm down 1.5 inch since Aug, so something's happening. I'm trying a new approach for the next week or so, starting today -- top-loading my daily calories with a big high-protein, high-ish fat breakfast; no lunch or very light, depending on whether I'm hungry; no dinner or very light, depending...; snack around 9 (which I always have), more carby & fatty (like my fav whole grain English muffin with peanut- or almond butter). Same calorie goal, but different distribution. Started this morning with breakfast out - steak & eggs, half cup cottage cheese, 2 pieces whole wheat toast w/butter. I'm thinking I won't be hungry for many hours! (TMI?) Thanks for letting me spell it out for myself.

Color me flummoxed. I've been on target for calories (lower this week than they've been in many moons) & macros (P25-30%, C30-35%, F40-45%). I've been walking this week - not a lot, but several times at a good clip for 30-50 min. The only thing I can think of is that, with many fewer grains in my diet, I'm getting less fiber than I used to (although still hitting the MFP target) with the expected results. I keep reminding myself that I'm very, very close to my "healthy BMI," which means that realistically (since BMI is problematic) I'm at a healthy weight now. I would just like to be a little bit lighter. We are moving from OR to IN in 3 weeks, so there's a moderate level of stress going on (although not bad as we've done this multiple times and have a "system"). But maybe I should just be happy where I am until weather warms up and I get back to my usual outdoor activity level? Any thoughts, anyone who's still with me here?

I’m in. Goal is to lose 3 pounds. I have been slacking off for months now and not making any real progress. I gained about 10 pounds since the summertime. I need to work hard and get back to where I was over the summer because I think that’s where I want to maintain. Just wanted to vent/share.

1/18 – loss - my win today is leaving work on time, so I had extra time to make a few different dinners for the next few days to reheat because I know I won't have time to cook for a few days. Probably way too much work for a Thursday but now I have lunches and dinners that are portioned properly and should get me through the weekend. I'm tired but satisfied and greatful for the privilege of time to get this task done.
1/19 – loss - tired.
1/20 – ? - visiting family, no scale. Two birthdays, one slice of cake and no alcohol = win
1/21 – loss - mood cycling low, new goal is to just get through this low and not use food as medication. Greatful for the people who support me.
1/22 – gain - not too bothered, focusing more on the mental, the physical will be a focus once I'm through this part. Aiming for a better tomorrow.
1/23 – gain - not impressed but in the grand scheme it's minor. Mood is getting better so I'm happy for being less low. Work is stressful ATM which likely is helping the gain and not helping the low. Staying dry which is positive, trying to find ways to decompress in healthy ways. Still aiming for a better tomorrow.
1/24 – gain - minor so whatever, better thing is the mood is getting better, so greatful for that. Still eating good, less active cause work is eating my lunch breaks but that will be a better in another week. Going to have to be patient and smart with what I can do. Also might have figured out why the scale has been difficult lately but waiting on that test result, nothing serious, just possibly different...
1/25 -gain - well this isn't surprising at this point. I'm not really sure what's up, in really minor gains but it's perplexing, nothing has changed from my usual healthy habits beyond recovering from the low. Still learning my body I guess. It's almost the weekend though so I'm happy for that!
1/26– gain - because why not right. I get answers tomorrow so many things will make more sense or I'm going to have to figure a different way to get back on track. Mood is better though so grateful for that.
1/27 – ? - not going to be weighing myself for about 9 months, turns out the little gains are a very happy positive. I won't be back for another round for a bit just cause I've got different priorities now but I've really appreciated the community while I was doing it. Thanks everyone, good luck on your journey!7 -

01/21- 145.2 A lot of this is water weight from the high sodium last night. Will be drinking lots of water today to flush it out.
01/22- 143.44 Much happier with this number. It have been a good day. Back on track.

01/24- 143.44 A little over on calories today due to a last minute change in dinner plans.
01/25- 144.76 Early morning workout. Out to dinner with friends but remained well under calories today.
01/26- 144.32 Went on a walk then met friends for coffee.
01/27- 143.22 Finishing out this round with a nice drop in weight. I need to be more mindful of my sodium intake next round and ensure I am drinking plenty of water.

Long-term Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
December was a very indulgent month. This round, I am focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.

This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.
Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

1/19 - 179.5 - danced some, walked 7k steps, but have a bday party to go to later. Wish me luck lol.
1/20 - 180.9 - Managed to fall under daily calorie limit yesterday but party still did its damage. Hoping this is just water. 6k steps plus 30 min dancing.
1/21 - 180.6 - A little under the weather today so only did stretching and quads strengthening.
1/22 - 180.1 - Went slightly under calorie limit. Nice to see the reading going down again.
1/23 - 179.9 - Only 4k steps, but slept 7 hrs straight for the first time after a long while. Feel pretty good as a result.
1/24 - 179.6 - Pretty much back to where I started lol, but I'm not complaining. Keep going down, down...
1/25 - 178.3 - No exercise aside from stretching. I observe however that the weight goes down when I've had enough sleep. Interesting.

1/20 - 153.9 ✔️... But will it stay. Have afternoon tea planned for Sunday. Hope to get a good walk in but looks like lots of rain and I’m getting my hair done!!
1/21 - 153.9 ... 1750 calories/ 29,480 steps
1/22 - 153.9 ... 1570 calories/ 21,030 steps. Went for Tea and had a nice rainy walk. Hard to calculate the calories consumed at Tea, but looks to be ok. Trying to balance calories and TDEE. Don't want to lose too fast, but I don't want to stall either.
1/23 - 154 ... 1573 calories/ 16,000 steps. I was so hungry yesterday, maybe because I ate early. Parents anniversary dinner tonight. Hope to get steps in.
1/24 - 155.2 ... Calories too many/ 11,450 steps. Parents anniversary dinner. Great evening!! Hope to get 2 walks in today.
1/25 - 154.2 .... 1552 calories/ 17,810 steps. Back on track... until Saturday.
