@quiltingjaine I am glad that it helped someone else out. I pick the ones that I feel I need reminders of everyday. It thrills me to know something so simple as a quote not only helps me but others. This is a lot of work. It takes time. It doesn't mean we will see results overnight even though we wish we could so badly. However, good things come to those who wait.4
-
@puddlegoober I've noticed a difference. I am more consistent. I also know pretty quickly when I'm not getting enough fiber because it will happen maybe once a week. I simply eat raisins, and it helps me out.4

01/28: 120.5 lbs. yesterday was my cheat day. This is what the cheat day did to my hardworking: gained 1 lb.
01/29: 121.4 lbs. hmm... I have done so well last round. Then I started a cheat day on last Saturday. I only had moderate carbs, but the damage is big. So, cheat day won’t work? Here is from Mr. Google: Carbs break up keto Cheating Affects Your Fat Adaptation. Your body has to make changes, such as altering specific hormones and increasing enzyme production, to optimize conditions for burning fat as fuel on a ketogenic diet. Having cheat meals regularly can prevent your body from continuing this process long enough to stay in ketosis.
01/30: 120.3 lbs... try to get back to ketosis!
01/31: 119.8 lbs. Had one of the best Zumba class with a crazy dancer. Lol she inspired me to move fast, fast, and faster!
02/01: 120.5 lbs. don’t know why it went up. I did everything supposed to do: eating right, went to gym! Frustrated! However, I did dry January!
02/02: 120.5 lbs. No progress no matter how hate I try. What’s wrong??

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS | Round 30
Height: 5'9"
Starting weight: 240 pounds January 2015
Lowest weight: 152 pounds July 2016
Current weight: 169.8
Goal weight: Under 160
Day/Weight/Comment
01/29 ? (Just starting today, will weigh in tomorrow)
01/30 169.8 (Had a 9.4lb. loss since last I weighed in at my doc appt. on Dec. 8th. I am hoping to just get back to my baseline weight of 160 by April. Have my diet under control right now, but not able to workout yet. Keeping my carbs below or around 100g, and protein up…fat around 20-30%, so far that’s working, but I may need to tweak as I go)
01/31 170.6 (Ate within goals, but didn’t drink enough water. I'm used to weighing in weekly, so the daily fluctuations are playing with my head a bit. I'll just keep going)
02/01 170.4 (5 more days to get a bump down on this scale. I’ve been intermittent fasting on a 16/8 schedule, but today I’ll do a 24 hour and start a 5/2 plan so I can hopefully start to see some results on the scale. I have been eating on point, but again, due to injury, not able to bike, walk or run yet to get a decent burn in. I do feel better at least so there’s an NSV! )
02/02 Sorry, buy not able to weigh in today....just checking in here keeps me on track though. I'm not expecting a huge loss here, although I need one. I am mostly trying to eat clean and prevent weight gain until I heal. Thanks to all who gave me a hug, like, etc... it really makes me happy to see the support of this group. Today, I did my 16/8 fast. Tomorrow I'll try my best to do a 24 hour...only eating at dinner.... and Super Bowl Sunday will be rough, lots food---will try to be picky, but yikes! Happy Friday All!!

01/28 139.8lb absolutely stuffed myself on salty foods last night
01/29 138.2 had no appetite yesterday, was very busy. Weight sure to bounce back up again. As long as it’s not in the 140’s!
01/30 137.2 this is a nice surprise! Practiced last night, Sunday night we went out dancing for a couple hours.
01/31 137.8 got in yoga, a run, and some dancing yesterday but also ate a lot, including more salt and sugar than i should.
02/01 138 salt, why can’t I quit you? Going to dinner and a musical in another city tonight, so lots of sitting and sure to exceed food limits.
02/02 137.2 Early appointments this morning, then worked out with a fitness specialist, ran despite the weather, and practiced yoga for an hour. Was feeling great until I fainted and hit my head super hard. Should have drank more water before all the activity!

1/28 65.5kg out to lunch and managed to keep food and wine under control to stay stable at least. 9km walk.
1/29 65.5 20min run, 20 min row, strength work. No alcohol during the week.
1/30 65.5kg argh scales not moving. Gym, weights, half hour swim. Eating within calorie range. Frustrated.
1/31 65.2kg It moves! Early cross trainer and then on the road travelling. Feeling good without midweek drinking.
1/1 64.7kg it moves again! Went for a jog, a walk and a swim. Love this group and what it’s doing for me.
2/1 64.7kg Away from home and not in my usual territory. Swim, short jog and walk. A little looser with my calories today, not so extreme. Still just over 1000. First glass of wine for the week.
2/2 64.9kg Meh. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Walk and planning a swim later on. Lots of gardening and see how we go.

1/29 - No weigh-in; out of town.

Yay!! My next goal is 9 lbs away, at which point I’ll have removed 25% of my starting weight!
1/31 - 247.6
WWHHHOOOOAAAAAA!! I expected to stay the same or go down a little bit, but this is exciting!
2/1 - 248.3
Dang. I did pretty well yesterday and stayed on plan, except that I missed out on some sleep and didn’t drink enough water. Maybe that explains the gain? Oh well!
2/2 - 247.6
Great! I’ve had a busy day today, and I haven’t stayed totally on track. So I’m not sure what tomorrow’s number will look like. I’m also gearing up for another trip out of state, and I’m nervous about my food habits while I’m away. But I’m planning on taking my scale, my determination, and a positive attitude with me!

Initial Goal Weight 65kg

R30 GW 67.7kg (aiming for 0.5kg again although I think it might be a bit ambitious, I generally lose slowly!)
R30 (2)
01/28 - no access to scales today, also expecting a lot of water weight due to eating out all weekend (very limited food choices), will do what I can to not overeat though!
01/29 - 68.8 - a big jump up, I expected it though after a weekend of limited food options, hopefully just water weight and will come off in the next couple of days
01/30 - 67.8 - followed by a big drop, mostly water from the weekend I think. Also didn't eat much yesterday as I was ill so I expect this will rebound back up a bit.
01/31 - 68.2 - back up a bit, ate late last night and got up and weighed early. So far no change this round!
02/01 - 68.3 - ate at maintenance yesterday, as well as having achy muscles from a PT session - trainer upped all my weights. Hopefully won't creep too much higher!
02/02 - 68.7 - been eating a lot of carby food this week, will try to eat less of it today and see what happens. Cals have been at or slightly above maintenance so need a few good days to finish the round. Difficult because we're eating out tonight and tomorrow
02/03 - 69.0 - yikes this has been a bad 10 days! I certainly haven't put on this much fat, as I've gone only a little over on cals. However we did have a 3 course dinner out last night so I'm guessing there's a lot of water weight hanging around. If I can manage 3 ok days hopefully I'll finish the 10 days staying about the same!!9 -
** Round 30 **
Female, 5'5"
Starting Weight: 82.3 kg (181.44 lbs)
Goal Weight: 64 kg (141.1 lbs)
I’ve just seen this thread and hopefully this will motivate me a little more! My heart is in it but not sure I am doing enough? Just had a baby 6 months ago and I am desperate to get back to my pre-baby weight! I thought I ate healthy throughout it all but obviously not! Eek! Clearly all the pregnancy yoga and swimming did more damage than good! Ha!
My GW for this round: 81 kg; or 178 lbs (not sure if that’s realistic? But what the hell let’s give it a whirl!)
Can I work in kg?!
01/28 * 82.3 kg * hadn’t seen the thread, probably somewhere eating bread (eek!)
01/29 * 82.3 kg * Did a low intensity cardio workout, although I am able to train a little more now since having the little one, I still am not fit enough to hit a high intensity training session yet. (Slowly but surely!) Overall, including exercise, consumed under daily calorie allowance.
01/30 * 81.9 kg * I always weigh myself in the mornings so here we go. Positive, must be my low intensity workout! Ha out today, must resist temptation to grab a coffee!
01/31 * 81.5 kg * yaaaaas! Serious calorie controlling yesterday and took the dog for a walk. Feel like today’s going to be one of those hungry days.. eek! Today’s going to be my gym night so I need to smash it to keep up the momentum!
02/01 * 81.3 kg * feeling like an absolute legend!! Treated myself to a few carbs yesterday as my body needed it but it pushed out a steady pace workout last night which made it all the more worth it!
02/02 * 80.9 kg * okay now I just feel like I am making things up! This is my best week yet.. how? Probably helps that it’s an early morning weighing! Had lunch at a friends and was convinced I had ruined the momentum. Maybe it will hit in a few days? Weather was horrifying last night so let the husband take out the pup and treated myself to a full on rest day.
02/03 * 80.8 kg * I’ve been hit by the sodded cycle! Urgh. I am afraid I am going to need pizza to get me through this weekend but I will keep within my calorie intake!!

@SherryRueter Be sure to stay well hydrated to combat that salt, and avoid water weight gain.
Long-term Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
Still focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.
to Round 30
This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.
Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

01/30: 216 I was hoping down and not another increase.
01/31: 216 ---Felt really bad yesterday evening so, I laid down early with no workout. Woke up this morning on a cleaning spree. I worked through breakfast but, made myself eat lunch. My fitbit showed I'd been in exercise mode for 8.5 hours. Now I'm exhausted and don't feel like working out, but at least my house is clean.

1st Goal 150 in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet.
2nd Goal 145 = normal BMI [UG maintain 140 - 145]
My scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Comments reflect prior day.

@KayHBE, that was an incredibly sweet thing to say. Thank you so much. I hope the quotes I post mean something to everyone that reads them because they've been helping me. I don't think there will be a WHOOSH tomorrow. Too much sodium again, I believe. I just want to stay in the 150s this time.
@mamabear10717 Well enjoying working out and eating healthy is wonderful. You're leap and bounds ahead of me in that department. Lol I've learned to like it over time. No, you're not a loser, except of weight.
@rparkerslim It's a total typo. I didn't even notice it until you guys pointed it out. Its 158.8.

All aboard the 10 Days train!
Welcome newcomers & Great to see you back, familiar faces!!
Had the bomb-digity last couple of rounds. Expected a big drop in R28 - shedding all the holiday gain. Ecstatic with the huge R30 progress! Craving more!
Officially 10 pounds lighter than my previous MFP attempt. So happy to have achieved this in a healthy, sustainable way. No more diet pills, prepackaged meal schemes, and other whatnot that I would just gain back plus some afterwards. It's a lifestyle, not a diet.
Let's show the scale who's boss!
#GettingLeanIn2018!!
Progress Rounds 13 - 29:
SW 167.6 to EW 144.0 (-23.6 lb), HW 168.4 to LW 144.0 (-24.4 lb), AVG 167.4 to 146.2 (-21.2 lb)
Details Rounds 13 - 29:
Spoiler
Round 30
SW: 144.0
Goal: 142.6
Day/Weight/Comment
01/28: 144.0 Good start. Friday's delicious pizza and Saturday's yummy Mexican food haven't revealed themselves on the scale yet. Within calories though, so hopefully the damage won't be too bad.
01/29: 144.8 Not a bad weekend gain, especially considering last weekend's 1.6 pounds.
01/30: 144.8 Steady is good. Hopefully will start going down tomorrow. Over two pounds less than this time last week, so yay!

1/28:: 240 - It's getting easier to eat less food. The Intermittent Fasting is still very hard during breakfast when I'm cooking eggs, bacon, french toast for the kids.
1/29:: 238.7 - 1350 kcal food intake - it's getting easier to pass up the sweet foods. I just gotta keep telling myself it's not worth it. It's days like today when I reach my nutrient goals but yet still have open kcal available. I'm going to start doing smoothies for lunch everyday. Fasting during work days are super easy.
1/30:: 238.7 - 1101 kcal intake - I was planning to fast all day long however the wife tempted me with homemade chicken and dumplings... Well to say the least once I started eating I just wanted more. So I stopped at my kcal goal.
1/31:: 238.7 - 1201 kcal intake - I'm starting to get frustrated the scale isn't moving. It's becoming like groundhog day.
2/1:: 238.2 - I stayed up entirely too late to see the blood moon last night. Seeing the scale change has been a well needed relief. Little did I know I was going to need that bump in motivation. Today has probably been the hardest not to eat junk food. Then to make matters worse, leadership brought in a huge stack of pizzas for us today. I smiled, thanked them and walked away... The smell has filled my office making it extremely tempting... Especially when I know they have my favorite out there. Pepperoni and Bacon. That's made my vegetable smoothie very lack luster to drink. I just keep telling myself that a craving isn't worth back tracking for.
2/2:: 237.6 - My morning was fantastic. Very productive. Not even slightly tired. Feeling great! However my afternoon made everything interesting... They ordered pizza again and I scummed to the madness. I had 2 slices and 2 cheese sticks. After about 30 minutes I had really bad heartburn, headache, abdominal cramps. I know my son has a problem with gluten... Today has been the first day I had any large amounts of bread and it really messed me up. My entire afternoon was very difficult. No energy. Mental fog.
2/3:: 235.6 - I woke up feeling decent. As my day went on things got better. Smoothie for lunch. Starting to feel great. However I was tempted with donuts... I had 2 and everything I described from yesterday applied today as well. Everything just fell apart on me.

01/28: 156.0 On track yesterday. Got exercise in. Feeling ready and motivated for the next 10 days!
01/29: 156.6 Another solid day yesterday. Did a short yoga video. Feeling a cold coming on this morning which is just great. As if last week wasn't enough with sickness.
01/30: 156.6 Congested and puffy this morning. I know the scale will move eventually...
01/31: 155.8 Attepted to exercise yesterday but stopped 20 mins; just wasn't feeling well. Eating was good.
02/01: 156.4 Gah! My cold was better yesterday but overnight/this morning I'm worse. I think my body is holding onto water as a result. Frustrated.
02/02: 156.4 Late post for me as I unexpectedly had to take my cat to the vet and scramble for childcare! A little stress for Friday morning! I don't think I've ever seen my body hold onto "weight" like this when I'm exercising and eating at a deficit. I really think my body doesn't know what's what at all right now still since that virus last week. My gastro system is still a mess. Hoping that when my body finally regulates I see a big drop!
02/03: 156.6 Seriously.

This is one woman that's back for more. Thank you @cyranda63 for continuing to create the rounds and make the group. You've been a HUGE support in my weight loss journey. Now, let's do this! "Your body can stand almost anything. It's your mind you have to convince."
OSW: 202
SW: 161
GW:160
UGW: 125
1/28: 159 3 days of making sure my carbs and sodium stay stay within my goal. 3 days of dropping my one pop that I allow myself everyday and substituting it for hot tea, and I show a loss. A 2 lb loss, which appears to be my WHOOSH! Now let's hope it sticks and continues. Yesterday, I threw a surprise 30th anniversary party for my family. I ate well and within my calories. I even skipped the cake I had made for them. It paid off. "Junk food you've craved for an hour, or the body you've craved for a lifetime. Your decision."
1/29: 159 My nephew turned 7 today. We went to his house to celebrate. I once again chose to skip the dessert. Then again, it was red velvet cake, so it wasn't too hard. That stuff is nasty! "Look in the mirror. That's your competition."
1/30: 158.2 It was a crazy day today. It's National Catholic Schools Week, and it kept me hopping at work. I also took my 14-year-old son out for some 1:1 time to dinner. It was really nice. PLUS I found out my 9-year-old son is Student of the Week. "The best project you'll ever work on is you."
1/31: 158.8 I usually eat dinner by 6 p.m., but I had to work until 7:30 last night. It was family day, and all of us teachers honored our parents and students by cooking them a meal and serving them last night. So, I ended up eating late. Dont like the bump up, but it happens. There is one thing I am learning. "The secret of losing weight is patience."
2/1: 158.2 Let me see 158 before the end of this challenge, PUH-LEASE! I know I met my goal already, but I want to get back to my new low. I'm so close. "Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret."
2/2: 158.6 Whiplash! Lol "Don't stop trying just because you hit a wall. Progress is progress no matter how small."
2/3 157.6 I'm really liking this number. Had lunch with my son yesterday. He was chosen as student of the week. I also took my Momma out bowling. I had such fun, but boy, was it a killer on the back. I also bought some new foods to try this week. Hopefully it helps."Be stronger than your excuses."

02/1 - 138.7 Where am I losing this weight from?! I haven't (unfortunately) been very strict on calories, getting to over 2000... Maybe it'll be back up tomorrow.
02/2 - 138.9 Up indeed but nothing to complain about. Lots of vegetables and fruit yesterday.

I do feel better at least so there’s an NSV! )
02/02 172.2 Idk what’s going on…. I should not be gaining while I’m under my calories and on IF. Today is a 5/2 day. Trying my best.

01/28; 106.0 - My Birthday - Didn't weigh in, had buffet lunch and spent the day riding in the car to/from grandmas. I have my meals planned for 1/29 and this board will help me stay accountable.
01/29: 107.0 - I mean, I didn't want this number, but it is what it is and it reflects what I've been doing. eating too much crap, not focused and just beating myself up mentally. I'm ready for that to change. I want tomorrows number to be better. Surprising enough, last week I had a 104.6 number...so I know this is feasible for this challenge. Goal tomorrow is to be 106.x
1/30: 105.4 - Woosh, there it is. High Fat yesterday, and the scale showed it. I will keep high fat again today as I just loved how it made me feel, satiated and not craving.
1/31: 103.8 - Day 2 of intermittent fasting. Today I did One 4 hour eating window and wow, look at the results. My last meal was finished at 1230pm, so technically, If I'm not hungry, I can maybe make this an entire 24hour fast. I love the number on the scale. I'm in disbelief at how well checking in with this group has made me focus. I honestly expected this weight on day 10 instead of day 4. Macros ; Fat:55% Carb:25% Protein:15%
2/1: 105.2 - Carb day yesterday, arund 130g so, i'm not shocked by this. Its still less then before and gives me motivation to do well today with Keto style eating and keeping carbs to a minimum. #noBarsTodayPeeps
2/2: 105.8 - Still had around 130g carbs yesterday. I really didn't want to get on the scale. Also had chicken tenders with plenty of salt for supper. Trying to get the mind right. At least I'm still working out. I hope (plan) to be more compliant today.
2/3 104.4 - Amazeballs, Motivation to eat healthy today just because of this number. #mindset Also, need to meal plan. OH, and I got a job offer and accepted it. Start date is Feb 12. YAY! SO relieved!

Here we go again! Another 10 days. I love the accountability of this group and challenge, everyone is so motivating and supportive! Wouldn't be where I am without all you long term 10 dayers....looking forward to getting to know the new ones
SW - 182.4 - March 2017
original GW - was 145- met this target in October
new GW - 140
I was maintaining a 143ish average nicely up until Christmas and my crazy gift show season in January and things have crept up to about 145. It could be worse so I'm not stressing over it but I know I've lost some fitness over the last month and a half and want to get back in control of things. I will start back into my cardio and strength routine and daily calorie logging this round...I've been a bit slack as of late. I would like to get under 140 slowly over the next couple of months so I won't be to aggressive with my calorie deficit.
1/27 - 145.0 - coming in from round 29 with a rolling 7 day avg of 145.5
01/28 - 144.2 - feeling a bit run down this morning...will get out for a walk with the dog and some housework today...nice to see it under 145 though.
01/29 - 146.4 - Bleh!! Did not eat well yesterday and I can feel the bloat...back to tracking and logging today.
01/30 - 146.2 - took the dog for a 3.5km walk yesterday morning and did a full kettlebell work out after dinner...muscles are a bit tight today...
01/31 - 144.6 - knew this would be down...I was "flushing" the water weight what seemed like every half hour yesterday. Hit the elliptical and did an express kettlebell work out...going to take a break from the weights today and just bundle up and take the dog for a good walk this morning.
02/01 - 145.2 - Meh...a few too many carbs yesterday...
02/02 - 144.6 - back here, having a hard time with the evening snacking this week....need to plan better to make them fit in my targets.
02/03 - 144.0 - Yay! coming down! Have a kid home with a virus...madly keeping him contained to the cootie zone and cleaning so it doesn't spread to the rest of us but I did get a good 50 minutes in on the elliptical yesterday
