How do you date in 2018?

I am opting out of dating altogether in 2018. I am working on my PhD and I really don’t have time for anyone. Whatever little time I get I just go to the gym or play soccer. I love myself.6

I am not sure if I should give up or just change my MO. Between the children, karate and church; there is no time left for going out anywhere where I might find someone to date. There is no one in those areas so I'm pretty much doomed to being single until something changes1

I would never want to date in 2018. It seems (some) people aren't looking for a connection or commitment. That's not my style. So, whew I'm glad for that.0

now of days its all about either hooking up or just online dating and through apps. no one really truly dates anymore its sad. i mean look at tinder, and other apps like that.1

I guess it's different for everyone. Personally.. Im not really looking for commitment or relationship. What I have found is I've made some amazing friends. Im good with that, its nice to have a bud to go to the pub with or go see a movie. I've been married twice so Im enjoying the freedom of doing what I want on my own terms. Whilst not all are thrilled to be friendzoned those that have been ok with it are now great friends and I consider myself lucky to have found them.

I guess I'm just too gullible to be in a mutually trusting and caring relationship0

It's possible to find a connection. Breakfast in bed, dinners out, lots of laughs...but for me nothing's ever 100% things in life can change in a heartbeat...so learning to enjoy good friendships, relationships, and alone time has been successful2

Please please please don't feel pressured to sleep with people you feel no connection with. There's absolutely nothing wrong with casual hook ups (in my opinion) but for them to work both people need to be super into it and okay with it. A lot of times someone might go along with having sex with someone cuz they think it's what they "should" be doing and believe me: It's not! Even though the social norms have changed you do NOT need to hook up with people right off the bat just to meet a decent person and have a relationship.
Dating is vastly different nowadays but also the same. It's just a bunch of people looking around for someone they click with. You'll find someone you click with too, don't worry.2 -
Start out as friends, tell them really weird and random stuff, and if they are still around ask them out and then soon it’s a white wedding with Vegan, gluten free cake, surrounded by all your friends you stopped talking to five years ago, inside a large estate in wine country but there’s no wine because your stepmom is a recovering alcoholic and it turns out your pregnant, too2

Online.
I've dated guys I've hooked up with. I've hooked up with men I've never seen again. But for the most part, I use apps for dating.
Also, in reference to him saying it seemed like you were interviewing him. There's a way to converse and ask questions. I've had to tell men to stop interrogating me. Asking a question, then taking a moment to relate to the answer or ask another question about it is cool. Question after question. No. Especially if it's small talk. Gross.0 -
I did a little online dating, it sucks. I’m moving overseas for two years in a couple months so I give up for now. Long distance is a waste of my time.0
