Cell reset diet

Yes, that's why I specifically called it "unscientific". While blog posts and sites like Natural News claim some foods can increase white blood cell counts in your blood (which would have NO impact on weight loss), no food can do that.
This kind of thinking stems from people having an extremely limited understanding that essentially boils down to "I heard this thing is good and that thing is bad so I want to increase the thing that is good and decrease the thing that is bad". Apparently "white blood cells" are "good" in the general public understanding these days so we should strive to "increase" them.
White blood cells are just a lamen term for cells that are part of your innate immune system which is largely comprised of T-cells. "Increasing" their number is not inherently a good thing. Your immune system is a balance, even if you could you wouldn't want to target part of it and just "increase" it. Having T-cells above your normal range is an inflammatory response....not something you just want to trigger through your diet if that were somehow possible.4 -
At least this thread is only 2 years old.....12

There's recently been some more science about red meats slightly increasing distant risks of bowel cancer. I suppose that if any commercial feeding instructions such as cellreset want to hype that as sort of a lab coat wrapped around their commercial feeding instructions they can. It must be nice to be so rich that you can pay someone to tell you what to eat.2

I was talking about high carbs like bread, pasta etc. Of course the diet has some carbohydrates in it or i would have no energy.
What kind of science do you need to eat healthy? Whats wrong with vegetables and meat? the diet is not asking you to eat something that we are not eating already. Some people just can't lose weight by themselves and like the whole idea of following a specific plan of what to eat and when to lose weight that's all.6 -

You wrote "no carbs," so I had no way of knowing you actually meant foods with "high carbohydrates."
You don't need any knowledge of science to eat healthfully, but if you're going to sell a diet plan to other people it should have some scientific basis, don't you think?7 -
I'm pretty sure everyone already knows that eating small healthy portions every 3-4 hours a day with a high intake of water, vitamins and amino acids is good for you. Just as cutting off sugar and salt as much as possible since nowadays they add that in everything.
The only thing i don't understand is the "white week" where you eat protein only for a whole week. But according to them, its to clean your gut flora from all the nasty stuff we accumulated throughout the years. I tried looking into that and couldn't find much. However, if it works and im not putting anything bad in my body that might harm me then why not try it.21 -

You are the one eating per the woo science of resetting your cells. Which isnt even a thing. Actual science or biology rather, is simple. People make things too complex. Most of us digress because you cant convince people backed by Dr Oz and random fitness blogs that their sources need checking.

I am not sure that everyone knows those things.
Why are smaller portions better than larger ones?
Why is a high intake of water better than drinking the amount that meets my needs for hydration?
Why is a high intake of vitamins better than meeting my needs for vitamins?
Why is cutting off sugar and salt as much as possible a good thing regardless of my personal circumstance and the context of my diet?
"Why not try it?" isn't a good justification to give someone money to tell me what to eat.
Also, you're once again not correctly stating what the diet actually is. You don't eat only protein during "white week," carbohydrates (in the form of vegetables and yogurt) are included in the plan for this week (I just looked it up online). I'm not sure how that week will clear "nasty stuff" (not sure what that even is) from your body or what the point is either, but it isn't protein only.10 -
My head hurts.
Has anyone asked the OP how many calories she thinks she burns in a day and how many calories she believes she is eating every day?
Has anyone seen her weight loss graph and confirmed that we are dealing with reasonable goals and expectations?
Too tired to move makes it possible that the 120lbs have been lost rapidly with a VLCD and the OP has now tanked it is looking at slower loss rates and seeing normal weight fluctuations for the first time...
Just a thought.
Grrrrr...... Necro thread proves cell revival abilities!!!
Got suckered in by some familiar poster names in the first few pages!!!!5 -
This post wasn't created to sell the product. She asked if anyone tried it and if its worth it. If anyone wants to dig deeper into it, then email the cellreset and ask. A lot of people try extreme diets to lose weight. This one doesn't ask you to do something totally crazy or starve yourself.
During white week you don't eat vegetables or yogurt. You only eat two eggs for breakfast and then small portions of meat or seafood.10 -

You're right about "white week," I misread the website. Avoiding all food but eggs, chicken, tofu, turkey, and fish for a week does seem "totally crazy" to me and it doesn't seem like it would come close to providing the calories one needs to feel their best.
I think when people ask others to do something extreme (and pay for the opportunity!), there should be a legitimate justification for it. So far, you've been unable to provide any justification other than "why not?" or "other diets are worse."

But it lies about resetting cells.
So why would you want to deal with someone who starts their interaction with you by lying about what they do or do not do?8 -
Nowhere does it state that it actually resets cells. Read the overview of the program, its just a name they probably came up with to catch peoples attention.10

The defense is that the name of the diet is misleading and they aren't actually claiming to do what the name says it will do?
Where I come from, that's called a lie.

So somebody lies to me to catch my attention and then I give them my attention?
Sorry. *Kitten off* is my response in such situations. And I tend to use my F *kitten* by preference!6 -
Will it speed up your metabolism? absolutely, becuase if you are someone like me who used to eat a big portion once or twice a day and started eating smaller healthier portions more often your body doesn't store it longer and digests it quicker. Will it help diabetics? Absolutely, because you are barely eating any sugars if any. Will it help some one with high cholesterol? yes because look at the diet.
Anyone can eat like that without even buying it. But some need that push, need that routine to follow.
Just like why buy membership at the gym when you can work out at home or at a park etc.26 -

You and I must have different definitions of the word "crazy". Eating nothing but eggs, meat, and seafood for a week would be torture for me, and for my digestive system. Yuck.
Diets that make you jump through a bunch of hoops to eat the right foods are destined to fail, because eventually you have to figure out how to eat for the rest of your life. Until people stop following "diets" that require their own website and book and FB page to figure out and start learning how to eat for forever, we will continue to have an obesity epidemic.5 -

No, it will not speed up your metabolism.
No, it will not provide any particular help to diabetics versus a reasonable balanced diet.
No, it will not provide any particular help to those with high cholesterol versus a reasonable balanced diet.
If the gym I was considering membership in was called the "Cell reset" center, I wouldn't give them any money either. . .11 -

There's a lot of misunderstanding of how the body works, and what causes lifestyle diseases in this post.
Meal timing doesn't affect your metabolism.
Sugar doesn't cause diabetes.
Cholesterol from foods doesn't generally cause high cholesterol (though some folks with a genetic condition do have to watch that).5 -
My husband who is insulin dependent definitely benefits from not eating foods that are high in sugars or carbs.3
-
im not trying to sell the product to anyone. She asked if anyone tried it. I did and i lost 18 lbs and kept it off. Is it worth it? For the price that it is, no. Just eat small very healthy portions of food every 3-4 hours a day and drink lots of water and work out.8

valentynazharska wrote: »My husband who is insulin dependent definitely benefits from not eating foods that are high in sugars or carbs.
Insulin dependent diabetics can also benefit from eating a balanced diet where they combine 'high' carb foods with fibrous veggies and or fats so that the glucose/insulin spike does not occur or is not as pronounced - i.e. a healthy mix of foods (carbs/fats/protein) in each meal.9 -

I don't have a 25M pool at home, and it's -15C outside so I'm thinking a park swim may not be the best idea either.
Oh, and there is a reason that was the only part of your post I responded to.

Eating nothing but meat and eggs is crazy to me, but some people do that and all power to them. What is absolutely crazy is eating nothing but meat and eggs AND having very low sodium intake. The creators of this diet are not concerned in the least to make their diet even remotely sciency like some other woo diets out there (looking at you, blood type diet). If a diet is worse than the blood type diet that's saying something.1

You have a valid reason for paying your membership. However, i see a lot of people who literally just go in every day to use a treadmill when you can just go for a walk, hike or run (especially when i live in California).9 -

Maybe they have allergies. Maybe they have small children in the daycare. Maybe....whatever.
They're doing something healthy. Why would you care how they do that?11 -

That’s my point! There’s a reason why people buy cellreset as well!7
