 I have severe lower back pain compounded by bad hip mobility...right now I do gentle yoga designed for back pain and hips. Regular yoga is too much. Depending on your location, there are also yoga therapists who specialize in this. Walking is good too, and if you work in an office consider a standing desk.I would love to keep up with my nephew this summer. I am in:
 Anyone have recommendations for exercise due to back and hip issues?

 YES!! I am ahead of weekly goal/plan (leaves room for the inevitable difficult week)
 I am really watching portion size (weighing almost everything carefully, lunch is a challenge), going to the gym 3 times a week, and hiking 6+ miles every week. Not easy to fit all this in, but worth it.

            Woohoo, this is definitely the kind of motivation I need. Please I'd like to join the challenge too, gained a whole lot of weight last year after graduating from university so I'm trying hard to get back in shape. My daily calorie intake is set for 1500 a day which is about 1pound loss per week for me but tracking my meals has been very difficult for me and I tend to overshoot my calorie goal for the day2

            Ok. I’m in. Current weight is 162. Goal is 145. Seems daunting since I haven’t been below 150 in 6 years. 4 deaths since, major move and lost all sense of routine. Scale crept slowing and now at 46 seems even harder than when I said it was hard at 40. I was going to bootcamps regularly back then and prekids I was a runner. Tracked food back then too but used stress as excuse to escape consistency. So...insert new trainer, gym membership, back to 3-4 workouts per week but no consistent change in weight this past month. Time to track again. Today was day 1. I weigh in Saturdays.2
