Missed round 36 but I'm back in after being on holiday
I had a lovely time, ate loads and relaxed. Tomorrow will be the first time I've stepped on a scale for 2 weeks. It will be interesting....

Goal for this round. Honestly, I just don’t know. I still won’t have a kitchen that is functional for another 2-3 weeks. I’m hoping I can shave off a little, but with eating out so much, I should be happy to maintain. But I’m NOT happy to just maintain because I'm only 5-6 pounds from a "Normal" BMI, so let’s try for a small loss. 154.x

4/8 = 155.4 Starting off with a sizable loss. Yay! Now if I can keep it going this round.
4/9 = 154 I’m sure there will be a bounce, but I’m excited about this!
4/10 = 154.8 This always happens when I lose 2-3 pounds in a day or two. As long as the trend remains falling, I don’t worry about it.
4/11 = 155.8 Well, that’s discouraging, but it happens. It wasn’t based on what I ate, so hopefully it won’t stay long.

R37 goals - To stay on track - hopefully home this week - been away too much recently. Harder than normal as kids still off on Easter holidays this week so work days and hours all over the place. Would like to be back down to 137-ish by the end of this round.
4/8 - DNW - unplanned night away again
4/9 - 139.60 +0.40lb - usual "slightly up" Monday morning post Sunday roast dinner - but on a plus note my Monday highs are a lot lower than they used to be At work all day today so all food prepped and planned and will be easy to drink plenty of water but not home till late so exercise opportunities are nil for today other than a quick lunchtime walk if the rain stops!
4/10 - 140.00 + .40lb ???? Woke up feeling very bloated this morning - food was all good yesterday and in maintenance calories. Having been away for 7 nights over the last 10 and in a car for two days, I needed a day to refuel my body with plenty of water, good food and re-set. That mission was achieved but did have a wholemeal pitta last night with dinner so quite carb heavy for me so can only think its that along with my upped water intake? Pretty sure this is a temporary "gain" though so not too bothered - plenty of water today, gym tonight and hope the bloat will go sooner rather than later as have an end of round target of 137lb..... weight not moved much in the last month just up and down, up and down .....
4/11 - 138.80 down 1.2lb which is good but so massively bloated yesterday only had light lunch and I didn't eat my normal size dinner. Still feel rubbish today so going easy on the whole eating thing but not really feeling that hungry anyway. Possibly pay back for a week away in hotels and eating out ....Off work today and rest of the week so hoping a day taking it easy will get me back to normal
4/12 - 136.40lb down 2.4lb. Not real though as felt rough the last couple of days so not really eating much. Dodgy stomach so only had a banana, bit of toast and soup yesterday so weight will almost definitely go up again when I start eating normally again. Feel a bit better today and did have one of hubby's home made burgers tonight so will see what the scale shows tomorrow. Guess this is enforced intermittent fasting eh ? Maybe it'll work and I'll have to do it again on purpose?

4/16 - 139.10lb - had a rough week last week not feeling great so food was a bit all over the place, was out for a chinese over the weekend with friends so higher sodium and MSG intake which is never good. Feeling back to normal today, kids back to school, I'm back to work and hopefully normality will return! Weather looking good today so even hoping for a quick 12 mile cycle tonight which I've not done for ages Last day of the round tomorrow so should finish lower than what I started at .....
4/17 - 137.60 down 1.50lb. My round target was 137ish so guess I made it Funny ol' round, but got there in the end. Hoping the next round I'll be properly focused! See you all round 38 x3 -

4/8: 111.9kg/246.7lbs - I struggled to post last round as I was so busy but fluctuated below and above what I finished on, but was a tab frustrated not to make a loss overall but I am very happy it didn't go up!! Good start to this round, hoping to drop some more tomorrow.
4/9: 110.6kg/243.8lbs - Oh my god wow, I have not been this light in a very long time. Went for a 14km run on Saturday and a 4km run this morning and worked on my speed/pacing however my shins were causing me quite a lot of discomfort. Let us see if I can keep this weight off!
4/10: 110.6kg/243.8lbs – Well it didn’t go up? 8km run this morning and my shins were on fire, eurgh. Now just to plod through the day, gym tonight and hopefully a drop tomorrow!
4/12: 111.0kg/244.7lbs – I forgot how much my weight fluctuates… or how dodgy my scale is. Today is a rest day – also didn’t go to the gym last night as I was feeling so drained!
4/13: 111.2kg/245.1lbs – Rest day so my calories crept just over my 1600, hoping for a wee drop soon, but down overall still.
4/14: 110.9kg/244.5lbs - Good, recovered from some sort of bug and managed a 16km run.
4/15: 110.3kg/243.2lbs - Great! 4 weeks until my half marathon and I'm going strongly.
4/16: 111.7kg/246.2lbs – Awful. I really didn't want to post this as I was doing so well but I caved and had an indian last night, first takeaway since starting this and it will be my last for a very long time. I know it is a tiny blip in the scale of things, but it is a realisation for me that I really need to focus!
4/17: 110.6kg/243.8lbs – Foodwise yesterday was great, I ate well and under calories and also squeezed in a good workout followed by another run this morning. Feeling great and very happy with the overall loss this round!
Loss this round: -2.2kg/4.9lbs
Overall loss – 22.8kg/50.2lbs – WOOOO made it to the 50lb club – this also represents the end of my 16th week on my journey and I am over the moon. Thanks everyone for your continued support!

4/9 - 68.6 kg in the evening, haven't decided yet what I'm going to eat for dinner.
4/10 - 68.6 kg (morning) - had a light lunch and some pizza and wine for dinner. I also drank only one coffee (instead of my usual 2-3-4).
4 /11 - 68.5 kg - woop woop - now I have to make sure that I keep this and don't go up again. Drinking lots of water - I cut out the soda and don't really miss it, since I don't eat too many fatty foods.
4/12 - 68.4 kg - not planning on jinxing it, but f-it am I happy about this

4/8 - 95.1kg - 209.6lbs - Had a family party to attend and it was a big occasion, lots of beer, food and there was no way I was able to keep track of it, it happens oh well! Probably find the food weight drops off in a couple of days! Had an output of 3095 calories mainly due to me working on the Saturday walking up and down the floors doing some upgrades, used the stairs instead of the lift! End of this round I will be happy with 204lbs... hopefully. (Weigh time 7:00am)
4/9 - 94.4kg - 208.1lbs - 2050 calories vs 2255 expenditure, had a nice even day of eating while I was working on Sunday to balance out the craziness of Saturday night, this is mainly just food and water weight but if it happens again I’m not going to moan! (Weigh time 7:30am)
4/10 - 93.7kg - 206.5lbs - 1884 calories vs 2668 expenditure,I got a day off for all the weekend work so I literally did nothing but go and grab a couple of pairs of jeans from the shops, how I managed to drop again yesterday I don’t know but keep it coming! Surely not another drop tomorrow?! Not exercised in 6 days, was going to cycle to work today but RAIN (UK) killed all hopes of that. (Weigh time 7:30am)
4/11- 93.7kg - 206.5lbs - 1879 calories vs 2944 expenditure, the drop ends with a nice even number, normal day back in the office for me, very disciplined with my food as a normal day is, lots of water, went and watched the football in the evening, didn’t cycle again because of that god damn rain! On target for 92.5kg/204lbs by the end of the round hopefully.... stay strong and don’t give up people! (Weigh time 6:30am)
4/12 - 92.9kg - 204.8lbs -1600 calories vs 2958 expenditure, WOW! I i know I’ve been strict lately but my god, must still be weight from the Holiday/Saturday night binge I guess, expecting a rise tomorrow I’d say... I’ve also challenged someone at work to see who can lose the most by June 1st, hopefully I can win.... stay focused people just think about the long term. (Weigh time 6:30am)
4/13 - 93kg - 205lbs - 1567 calories vs 2975 expenditure, ITS OFFICIALLY 6 MONTHS TO THE DAY THAT I STARTED MY DIET AND I HAVE LOST 13.9KG/30LBS, nice level weigh in today very happy, managed to cycle into work this morning as the weather held up and it felt GREAT, working late this evening as we have a power down so will be lots of running around lifting things so a few calories got rid of then, and then hopefully planning on cycling home maybe half way then get the train the rest of the way, we shall see.... feeling good, four more days of this round can i get into the 91kg range!? (Weigh time 6:00am) - PS I AM GONNA SMASH THIS CHALLENGE AGAINST MY COLLEAGUE!
4/14 - 92.6kg - 204.1lbs - 1721 calories vs 3829 expenditure, I was finally able to cycle yesterday because because the weather held up and did a total of 16.5 miles, walked up and down the stairs in our building during the evening work so burnt more then, and started my running journey by running 0.82 miles and managed to do it in 6:50 which I was relatively happy with! I am almost 100% sure I can manage another 0.1kg in the next 3 days! (Weigh time 7:30am)
4/15 - 92.3kg - 203.4lbs - 1863 calories vs 2874 expenditure, had a good day yesterday, went and watched the football during the day then off to the pub to watch the Tottenham City game in the evening, doing overtime today so I cycled in which was 14.5miles, a good workout, smashing it since I joined this challenge very happy! (Weigh time 7:30am)
4/16 - 91.9kg - 202.6lbs - 1747 calories vs 3413 expenditure, did a lot of steps yesterday along with cycling, today is a rest day which is very much welcomed, I’ve been so strict with what I’m eating I’m not surprised I keep dropping but not sure if this is a temporary chain of drops or if I can stick to this! One day left and I’ve hit my target. (Weigh time 6:00am)
4/17 - 91.5kg - 201.7lbs - 1721 calories vs 2748 expenditure, yesterday was rest day so not much to report but got my steps in and stuck to my food as usual, went for a 0.82 mile run this morning and was very happy with my 6:18 time, very happy with how this round went.

2- Sometimes I eat "as normal" around people to show them that I am not on a diet as I would feel too self conscious if they knew I was dieting. Like admitting that I am fat may make them realise! I know they can see my size but I do not want my size to become a focal point of discussion.
I know your comment comes from a supportive perspective but reading these comments has really brought home how complex weight loss truely is. Yes it is about eating less calories so on paper it is a very simple equation. In reality it is having to sort out years of habits, our entire psychological attitude has to change in order for us to achieve our goals. Some people have a lot on their plates and jsut find it hard to focus attention on the weight loss aspect.
I have the motto "no excuses" in my study space but it is so hard to live by that! Everyone is on their own journey, some people may have clear paths and friends and family to help them when things get tough, others will have hurdles put on the path and no family or friends to help them get over or around the hurdles. I love this forum as the support and love shown to others is amazing! We all make poor excuses on this journey but we don't need them pointed out to us! ;-)

4/9 -- 201.0 mostly on plan today. I adjusted my expectations from 1200 calories per day to 1370 -- I just wasn't able to make it on a consistent basis. I'd prefer to lose slower and set lifestyle habits for myself than potentially lose faster but with a plan I can't sustain.
4/10 -- 200.6
4/11 -- 198.6 I like this whoosh! Ironically I'm finding it a lot easier to stay under 1200 calories when I allow myself a daily limit of 1370. Whatever tricks my brain wants to use are fine with me.
4/12 -- 197.6 Still whooshin'. I know that this is just the starting whoosh that comes after getting back on track after a long time of giving in to bad habits. I'm hoping to move well along the road before it tapers off.
4/13 -- 196.8 Starting to worry that I'm going to bounce back badly when I stop whooshing. I have been perfectly on plan all week, though, so maybe it's legit.
4/14 -- 196.4 First time I stepped on the scales it read 196.0. Thought I should check again. Hope I can hold on to this until the end of the challenge.
4/15 -- 196.4 Looks like the whoosh is finally over.
4/16 -- 196.6 Whoosh is very definitely over. Hope I don't bounce back too badly. I need to watch that I don't slip into bad habits now I don't have the strong positive reinforcement of major progress.
4/17 -- 196.8 Still bouncing back, and still working hard not to let it derail me.

4/8 (Sun) - 189.6 - Saturday was pretty lazy. Hit the gym, but started cleaning out the fridge by eating through most of my leftovers, so I'm honestly surprised I lost weight as of Sunday morning.
4/9 (Mon) - 189.4 - Sunday was my cleaning day. Didn't track my meals too well, so I'm proud of myself for staying healthy. Workout this afternoon - about 600 cals.
4/10 (Tues) - 187.0 - Well, that's a WHOOSH™ if I've ever seen one. Ended up doubling my workout yesterday (1200 cals), so that helped, but definitely wouldn't have killed almost 2.5 lbs. Here's hoping that was just a loss of a bunch of water weight; Exercising in the afternoon - about 500 cals.
4/11 (Wed) - 186.2 - What the heck. It must have been water weight. Or this is a very deceptive WHOOSH™, I like it. Let's keep this momentum going! Changing my goal weight for this round. Was not expecting to hit it quite so soon! GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL!!!! ; Exercising in the afternoon - about 600 cals.
4/12 (Thurs) - 186.8 - Knew I'd get a higher value today. I went out for a drink with an old friend last night, so I'm sure this is mostly water, but who knows? Still under on calories for yesterday. Guess we'll see if I meet my second goal this week; Exercised in the morning - about 600 cals, debating exercising in the afternoon.
4/13 (Fri) - 187.2 - Okay, this can stop increasing now. I understand my carb intake has been a bit higher the past few days, but I'm looking for a downward trend, not this nonsense; Today is a rest day.
4/14 (Sat) -187.2 - Maybe this will start decreasing soon? ; exercised in the morning - about 500 cals
4/15 (Sun) - No Scale - Rewarded myself for hitting my first goal by purchasing a new dress for the rehearsal dinner I'm attending in a few weeks rather than wearing an old one.
4/16 (Mon) - 186.6 - Yes. This. This is what I needed today. Won't hit my second goal of this 10 days, but I didn't think losing almost 5 lbs in a week would have been healthy for me anyway. Also, still sore from Saturday's workout. Must have gone harder than I thought; Exercising in the afternoon - about 600 cals
4/17 (Tues) - 184.8 - This must be the WHOOSH™ round for me. I'll take it! If this remains for tomorrow, I should probably reevaluate my diet/exercise habits. Losing weight too quickly is unsustainable at my size, as much as I'd love for this momentum to continue. Goal 2 reached!! Exercised in the morning - 600 cals, Exercising in the afternoon - 500 cals.

4/9 – 195lbs – still good considering its Monday. Birthday party tonight at local pub that cooks a mean bacon, ham, cheeseburger and the best fried mushrooms. Better have a skip lunch to have room for the 1300 calorie dinner
4/10 195lbs – I so wanted the steak buffet. Oh well the wife promised this weekend when kids might be able to make it. Had awesome 1600 calorie burger and mushrooms. Then did cardio for over an hour. Way to many birthday cocktails.
4/11 – 196lbs up 1 pound. I think it’s the snacks late last night at Spanish class.
4/12 – 192lbs - I have no idea why. Maybe the workout on Monday. Maybe 600 calorie food deficit yesterday?
4/13 – 194lbs – nothing but cucumbers until dinner at the steak buffet tonight. I am planning on cardio today to balance out the 3 pounds of meat I am planning on having.
4/14 – 196 – logged 2 pounds of filet minion instead of listing all the different meats at the buffet last night. Just got done with an hour of cardio. I find it hard to believe I am not pushing 200 after all the feed I have had during Birthweek. Starting Monday I go back to normal life.
4/15 – 192lbs and 54% water, why? Possibly the 2 days in a row with cardio, maybe < 150 calories before big dinner? Finished the day 1500 calories below maintenance that is only if you don’t count the whiskey.
4/16 – 192.0lbs – a new 20 year low! Not sure how this happened while on vacation the last 4 days. Wife keeps telling me to eat.
4/17 194lbs – well I listened to the wife and eat out for lunch and dinner. Fast food even with good choices packs on the pounds for me. Finished this round at starting weight. I am happy with that since we had a lot of bday party meals
