My first round, I’m joining very late, but better late than never right?
Goal this round - stay in calorie goal, exercise every day, drink water. Would love to be down 2# in weight at the finish.
Day/Weight/Comment
4/18 168.9 unfocused unhappy unmotivated
4/19 167.6
4/20 can’t find motivation to even weigh in
4/21 same as yesterday
4/22 I found it! I have my motivation. All day meal prep for this week. Stayed under calorie goal! Exercise plan in place. Didn’t weigh in as I didn’t want to know.
4/23 168 back on track. I found this thread and started reading through. I’m going to join next time.
4/24 167.1 I’m joining now! You have all motivated me.
4/25 166.4 has a good day yesterday. Food ✅ gym ✅ water ✅

Day/Weight/Comment
4/18 -- 195.0 Okay, looks like I need to pick a new goal.
4/19 -- 194.2 (TOM) Gave myself permission to step off plan today. Just a little, because I've found that small, conscious indulgences satisfies me and prevents me from breaking out completely.
4/20 -- 193.6
4/21 -- 192.6 That's my first 10lb gone. I hope that I start seeing my progress in my clothes and my mirror soon instead of just on my scales. I still have nearly 7lbs to lose before I get to my "I will never allow myself to get this heavy again" weight from 2013.
4/22 -- 192.2 Progress is progress.
4/23 -- 194 Okay, I'm due a bounce back after so much whooshing, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! My aim is to stick to the plan and hope that it's a temporary blip.
4/24 -- 193.4 Better. Need to keep it going, my first mini-goal is in sight.
4/25 -- 192.2 Going the right direction again.

Round 38 (Round 30 for me. Female, 5'2" aged 71, weight in lbs)[/c]
18/04: 167.6 Goals ✅ What is it that makes us revert so easily to our old ways?
I have really been tightly back on track for the past week, and then last night we had a friend in for coffee and as we were chatting I suddenly realised that I had absentmindedly munched several of the biscuits hubby had put out with the coffee. (not sure exactly how many, lol! as we were having such a great chat.) Not going to beat myself up, but wondering how do we combat the old habits which just seem to lurk there, waiting until we are off-guard, to sabotage all our hard work?
Maybe all we can do is to be aware of it happening, and make sure that we stop as soon as we realise what we are doing. I am continually reminded that being fit and healthy has to be a life time commitment, and is not a quick fix.
19/04: 167.7 Goals ✅
20/04: 167.2 Goals ✅ Birthday today. I'm not going to use this as an excuse to go over the top. Goal is to eat a little, drink a little, and be merry a lot.
21/04: 167.2 Goals ✅ Spent my birthday in the garden enjoying the sun. A perfect pamper day.
22/04: 166.9 Goals ✅ Had an very active day yesterday out in the fresh air.
23/04: 167.0 Goals ✅
24/04: 166.7 Goals ✅ No time to post yesterday. Hoping this trend continues.

"Don't Panic!" It's normal for weight to fluctuate several pounds from day to day, especially if you are under par and not hydrating properly. So long as the overall trend over time is downwards, you are doing fine!9 -

Don't panic!!! Please don't panic. Go easy on yourself When we're run down, our bodies can react in all sorts of negative ways. Take time to get yourself back up to your normal self and slowly get back to making the right food choices. You've got this mamabear!!
I’ve been trying to flush the system and drink lots of water today. I keep wanting to blame this new pill I am on but it’s impossible for it to have such a reaction on me. I need to get back on it.. water water water is my mini goal for today!!!
Totally hear you on the medication front! I changed to implanon and gained like 10kg! Kept blaming the implant but then tracked what I was actually eating on mfp and acknowledged that I hadn't gone from training for a 10k run to sitting on my backside! I do gain weight easier though, dunno if that's my age or implant but either way I just know I have to be careful not to undo all my hard work!
I can literally gain and lose a kg within a few days! It's absolutely infuriating but it's unfortunately just one of those things that I have to learn about my body!
It’s incredibly annoying isn’t it. I’ve gone through various pills and am actually waiting to have the implant done. I keep telling myself its in my head but it’s just an easy thing to blame it on. I’ve been a bit run down recently and alongside being a new mum I’ve just gone back to work from maternity leave and also am undergoing a professional qualification and being tired and making me hungrier and little things like drinking water is just not even second nature anymore. I am adamant to make small tweaks however and see how it goes! I stopped writing little blogs on here and have decided to do it again because it actually keeps me in mental check! And it’s nice to have that support from this group xx6 -

4/19: 109.7kg/241.8lbs – A step in the right direction! Nice 11km run this morning, changed up my route and it was very scenic, got my breakfast and lunch meal prepped and off to the gym tonight! Refraining myself from finding a beer garden after work despite this weather being so nice!
4/20: 108.9kg/240.0lbs – Not feeling good today, had to cut this morning’s run very short as my stomach turned – shame really but I’ll try again on Sunday. Buzzing with this drop though – out for food and beers tonight so this will change.. (Also updated my HW as it was incorrect)
4/21: 109.1kg/240.5lbs – Feeling bloated, but the weather was lovely. Dragged myself on an 18km in the sunshine, time wasn’t great and I think I need to start looking at some energy gels to keep me going.

Nothing works unless you have a sustained calorie deficit over time. Anything will work if you have a sustained calorie deficit over time.
Motivation is overrated. What you need is education, willingness to eat less, a good plan, and discipline to stick to it.

R38 goals - to stay focused, log everything, drink my water and stay on track - aiming for a 136lb or below finish....
4/18 -136.60 down 1.0lb. guessing my usual post weekend "whoosh". My aim for this round is to keep it here or below and stay focused....... Happy with the start though
4/19 - 137.30 up 0.70lb - TOM imminent and bloated - not helped by late evening munchies last night (fairly healthy munchies of houmous and breadsticks - but was late last night) . Still down on the round start so far though
4/20 - 136.90 down 0.40lb - up down up down ..... TOM due and its now the weekend ........ I am feeling positive at the moment Must keep up the water (hot here at the moment for the UK in April anyway!) but I did discover 50 calories mini soleros at my local M&S Today - it was lovely!
4/21 - 136.6 down 0.3 yay!! Good day planned today food wise and a 20mile or so bike ride too so here's hoping....
4/22 - 136.60 - holding ....
4/23 - 138.60 - up as usual on a Monday but happily my "lowest" Monday high for a long while which I'm happy about esp at TOM imminent. Nothing I know of this week that should see me being led off track so should be a good finish Friday..... giving blood tonight so hoping that will mean I weigh less tomorrow if only ....
4/24 - 137.0 - usual Tuesday morning drop - still hopeful for a 136 finish by Friday .... Food prepped, water bottle refilled and gym tonight ..... Repeat after me - I CAN DO THIS, I CAN DO THIS, I CAN DO THIS .....
4/25 - 137.20 +0.20lb - up a it but ate later than normal last night and "TOM imminent" bloated-ness. Two more weigh ins and so want to be 136 - even 136.90 will do ...... Although if not this round, I'm sure I'll reach it next round as so close now..... Definitely losing slower now I weigh less but so much happier in my clothes and my confidence levels Would still like to lose a bit more though

Day/Weight/Comment
4/18 - 166.6 - Good way to start this next challenge. The last couple times it seemed I'd gain weight right away and the rest of the challenge was trying to get rid of my 1st day gain. Hoping it warms up and the rain holds off so I can get out and walk. Looking forward to the next few days and I'm determined to make my goal.
4/19 - 166.6 - I've never had the same number for 3 days in a row before (I've only been weighing myself everyday for 20 some days now) so it's interesting to see. Since I started logging every meal and keeping track of my exercise for the past 40 days and weighing in every day for the past 20 I'm starting to see and understand what works for me and what I need to do to lose the weight. I'm sure it'll always be a learning experience but one that I'm willing to learn. Interested to see tomorrows weigh-in.
4/20 - 166.6 - So I guess I'm going to be stuck at this weight now but if I'm not showing a gain, I'm happy. Need to plan meals out for this weekend so I can stay on track, Saturday and Sunday are usually days I slack off on and then regret it come Monday morning but I want to prevent that from happening this time. I can have a fun, healthy weekend.
4/21 - ?? - tried to weigh in this morning but the battery died in my scale and I'll take it as a sign that I'd be unhappy with what it would tell me as I indulged in many butter covered perogies last night. Have a busy day today though and I'm ready with healthy snacks already packed and lots of water. Will try to get out and buy a battery some time today so I can weigh in tomorrow and keep myself accountable for those damn, delicious perogies.
4/22 - ?? - still no battery for my scale, probably won't weigh myself until Tuesday morning unless I make a special trip into town and pick some things up. I had a good day yesterday though, it was busy but I was ready with healthy snacks, a chicken broccoli rice bowl for lunch, a light dinner and lots of water. Wasn't able to work out but got plenty of steps in, feeling optimistic for when I can weigh in.
4/23 - ?? - Still no scale but I will have one back tomorrow, interested to see what I will weigh. Weekends are usually hard for me but it was really nice out and I got a lot of steps in all weekend and I had my meals better planned out so I'd say this weekend was better than most my weekends. Hoping tomorrow weight reflects it. Happy Monday!
** 166.2 @ 2:50 pm
4/24 - 166.2 - feeling optimistic that I can be 165 by Friday. My eating habits have been on point, I'm at or slightly below my calories, just need to get myself exercising more. I have been getting a lot of steps in since it's been nice out but I haven't been doing anything to get my heart rate up and so today since it's raining I'll head back to the gym. I've got 3 days to make my goal, I've got this.
4/25 - 165.0 - Made my goal! Now to just maintain or continue to drop on down for the next couple days. Gave in to cravings last night and had a hot fudge sundae, hoping I won't see an increase tomorrow from it but it was oh so good and I only felt a tiny bit guilty about eating it after I had sat there and ate it all. Kind of worried about such a drop but hoping it's true and I won't have a big increase tomorrow or Friday, still feeling optimistic.

Date - Weight - Update
4/18 W - 185.8 - As yesterday was a WHOOSH day for me, this is a decently reasonable bounce back, and still lower than where I was on Monday... anticipating this week to be more difficult than last. Exercising in the afternoon - about 600 cals.
4/19 Th - 184.8 - Maybe it wasn't a WHOOSH at all and I was just retaining water? Or this is another deceptive drop? The most likely scenario is regular fluctuations, but where's the fun in blaming that?; Exercised in the morning - about 600 cals, tomorrow will be a rest day and may end up being a maintenance day if I can't keep my calories in check.
4/20 F - 185.0 - Ate a bit too much after dinner. Still within calories, but it was pure carbs. The 0.2 lb increase is clearly water weight; rest day today but should still get plenty of steps in. Lots of stuff to do.
4/21 S - 183.8 - Ah yes, more fluctuations. Just what I wanted. Been oddly dehydrated lately, despite drinking over a gallon per day, going to try to up my intake just to be careful; Exercised in the morning - about 500 cals.
4/22 Su - 183.8 - A standstill is good over a weekend. Means I didn't go too hard on Saturday, which has been my problem in the past. Another rest day today, went for a walk, but no intense exercise.
4/23 M - 185.2 - Consumed a decent amount of carbs/sodium Sunday night, so I guess this makes sense, regardless of how little I like it. Exercising in the afternoon - about 600 cals.
4/24 T - 184.6 - Skipped my workout yesterday, and ate over my daily calories, but still dropped some of that bloat... I'd consider that to be a win. Exercising twice today, morning workout was around 600 cals, evening should be around 500. Let's see which wins tomorrow, water retention in the muscles, or loss due to deficit.
4/25 W - 184.6 - AND THE WINNER IS... water retention. That's cool. I can live with that. Means there's a WHOOSH coming. I'm also not as sore this morning as I intended, so my muscle soreness may be more delayed than normal, or last night's workout didn't do its job properly. Exercising tonight, should be about 1000 calories after all is said and done.

4/18 – 196lbs – allowed myself a free for all day to end the free for all week. The next 10 days I plan on shifting from maintenance to weight loss program. Should drop 2-3 in the first days then a couple more by the end of 10 day challenge. 190lbs on or before 4/27 is my goal
4/19 – 195lbs – still predicting a quick drop if I don’t have adult beverages. Eat before logging and WOW does prime rib have a lot of calories. Homemade and worth every bite. Managed to ride bike for 30 minutes
4/20 – 194lbs – good thing lunch was on target. Eat 5 hotdogs at a gathering last night and had 1 to many cocktails! It’s a fishing weekend so I probably will not eat right the next 2 days
4/21 – 192lbs – eat kinda okay yesterday but didn’t plan on 2 pound change.
4/22 – 192lbs – not bad for a weekend. Hope the fish are biting this afternoon. had the last salmon in the freezer a week or so ago.
4/23 – 193lbs - to much sunshine out fishing lake Michigan, fell asleep in my chair till 6pm. Instead of cooking the fresh coho salmon I took the wife to chines buffet. Still full this morning. Salmon tonight!
4/24 – 192lbs – kinda not expected. Lots of snacks and beer on the boat last night. Only caught one brown trout, then had dinner after 10pm. Going to try hard to reach 190 yet this round even if only for the last day
4/25 – 193lbs – my bad eating habits as of lately are late night binge eating after a cocktail. Good thing I have been keeping my days in check or I would end right back at 235lbs.

GW: 210
UGW: 155
4/18 - 212.6 - Felt a little bloated, adjusting lunch time shake down to 1 scoop
4/19 - 212.2 - Feeling positive and slightly less bloated. Walked the Dog around Pearl Hill about 1 mile. Being more mindful about getting up every hour at work.
4/20 - 210.2 - Bloat is gone, scale shows the water weight lost. Adjusted my lunchtime meal yesterday since I wasn't hungry after my sandwich wrap and skipped the shake. I think the shake makes me bloated in the afternoon. Dinner has not been planned just being more mindful of portion sizes. Did 25 minute yoga/meditation last night. Goal is to actually check in this weekend while I'm not on my work schedule. Accountability!
4/21 - 210.0 - had pizza and salad for dinner last night, it fit into my macros for the most part. Slightly over, but the day was good whole food eating all day. 80/20 rule! Weighed in a little earlier than usual. Good breakfast shake this morning and took meds. Pot roast snack after a walk and errands instead of a big huge breakfast sandwich. Weekend water intake always struggles but making a good effort. Going Adams farm and grocery shop today or tomorrow. Doing an experiment today to see if I can make good choices on the fly!
4/22 - 210.2 "experiment" went well considering. Ate mostly proteins all day and ended up having ice cream for dinner cause our eating schedule was all weird after a long day, first weekend back working. Water struggles for sure and I woke up so dehydrated. Duck eggs and sausage for breakfast and off the the store for a few things. Water water water today. Went to Adams Saturday and Grocery store Sunday - prepped and ready for the week.
4/23 - 211.0 - Ice cream got the better of me last night - which I didnt have room for in my macros since I had quesadillas for dinner. But it was a great day of quality food, friends, sunshine and laughter. We did a nice long walk around bowers for Fala. Stopped at Kalon for bacon ended up with steak instead. Grilled steak and potato with green beans for lunch, used leftovers for steak quesadilla for dinner. Minimal snacking, improved my water intake - learned that "light ice cream" is just a tease and I'd be better satisfied to eat the one serving size of regular instead of a whole pint of "light" - Expected the slight gain between over on macros and sodium - but I keep reminding myself that the weekends will take far more dedication than the weekdays, and I will figure out what works and what does not as I continue.
4/24 - 210.0 - Meal prep has already helped this week so much - quinoa and grilled chicken for lunches, didnt realize quinoa was so carb heavy, I know its a grain but for some reason I thought it was lower. Still a better choice for me since its lower GI. Had a 1/2 cup white rice with dinner and used coconut aminos instead of soy and kept my sodium in check! Mini bag of popcorn instead of carrots and dip because I didnt like the honey dijon - but it was good I had a back up option and didnt end up at the drive thru! No dessert last night and sleep is improving. Today I am happy with the number I see but expect it to flucuate a bit before the final 4/27 weigh in. Really enjoying this challenge.
4/25 - 208.4 - Whoa! Holy moly not sure what to make of that. I suspect I'll see some fluctuation in the next few days. I cooked dinner last night and ate a few extra pieces of bacon while I was cooking. Still stayed within macros for cals, carbs, sodium and actually hit my protein (these are typically my trouble spots)! I've never done daily weigh in's before so this is great for data collection to see how and what affects my body. I noticed yesterday my complexion is improving and my ring is finally feeling more comfortable. Almost done with my first round of 10 days and feeling all the benefits, mind, body and soul!
