I have a question for those of you running in the heat and sweating... Now that we are getting warm here (80-90F) I sweat, a lot... I always wear a hat and it helps to keep the sweat off my face for a while until it becomes saturated (sorry TMI and gross!). Then it all just runs down my face and into my eyes. Does anyone have a solution for this? I was thinking of trying a headband under or next to the band of my hat or maybe a bandana... I don't know but I hate not being able to see and my eyes stinging...0

@kristinegift Awesome Track repeats - Negative split double awesome. Enjoy the rest day.
@shanaber I second all the great comments on your daughters success.
@skippygirlsmom I stumbled on this image and instantly thought of skip.
@Sparx_81 Yes its a fast moving thread. Glad to hear that the black cloud is lifting. There are a few others in this group who suffer from the same condition. Targets are made to be adjusted as things happen in life. Just keep moving.
@MegaMooseEsq Glad to hear of your success and challenges. So next fall don't hang up the shoes just adjust when/where you run. One of the best things I did was find the local running club/group and started to go out with them. There is always someone who will run around your pace so no reason to be intimidated by a group.I have a question for y'all. I need new shoes and the nearest running store is an hour away.e.
It's not worth an extra $5 for a pretty color of shoe that will just get dirty anyway.
@kgirlhart Well said by @MobyCarp my closet has 4 pairs of Road Shoes and 2 of Trail all bought at end of model year to get a great price.
@Orphia Always love your pictures and your simple comment of "I enjoyed that run".
Out of town for work Two Three runs over two days. 16km
A hard 4km through the smush yesterday followed by a 2 km on slightly better trails.
( SMUSH = Snow and Slush Ice in Water filled holes ) Picture a huge slurppy
A very tough 10km Course preview of the NATS. The course was a real mixed bag of terrain, Snow, Ice, Smush, water - verrrrry coooold water, mud and sand dunes. In other words = perfect conditions. Managed to stay in contact with the lead group of 4 all the way through. Didn't pack my Garmin Charging Cable so will have to upload them when I get home.

A picture of the group before we hit the trails. Me in the back in Red T-shirt.
One of my FB Friends said " Interesting M/F Ratio"
You know you are addicted to Trails when you have the option of a paved trail or Bushies with guaranteed water.
The Smush Swimming Pool - no way around it as the snow was covering a very large depression full of spring melt that extended 100m either side of the powerline.

For the Trail Hounds @MNLittleFinn - @7lenny7 and others interested in Sinister 7 in western Canada. A short 14 minute video from 2015 leg 60

Have you ever tried a Gutr? If you sweat like it's raining (like I do), normal sweatbands will last maybe an hour max before it stops doing anything. Gutr bands and the like are made of plastic and form a rain gutter above your eyebrows, channeling all the water to the sides of your head and away from face/glasses etc. I did need to play with the adjustment for a while before it stopped feeling like there's a strip of plastic on my forehead. And warning, it might leave a weird tan mark.5 -
I'd like to join in please for the first time in eight months.
Not been able to run or walk much due to major surgery in September.
Been running again for just four weeks. I'm surprisingly managing two thirty minute runs and an hour run a week already. My pace is shocking though. I'm only doing 5 miles an hour. It'll come in time I'm sure.
Signed up for Bamburgh 10k to push myself.
I want to do 11 miles over three runs before the month ends16 -
On Sunday at the London Marathon, 29 year old Matt Campbell collapsed after 22.5 miles and sadly later passed away. This week, thousands of runners around the UK, and the world, are running 3.7 miles to finish the run for Matt.
Tonight I, along with my running club, will be running 3.7 miles to finish the marathon that Matt couldn't. No matter how tired I am after work, I will do this because I can.12 -

I sweat a lot as well in high heat and always wear a bandana. I have yet to saturate it so much that it runs into my eyes.0 -

Bandana for me too... if it's still getting in my eyes I'm not opposed to wiping it on my shirt though.2 -

Yes! This is me too! The sweat stings my eyes so bad it looks like I have been crying for hours. Others on the road must think I am having a horrendous run by the sight of me.
I will have to give Gutr a try. Thanks for the suggestion!0 -

@Elise4270 Haha. I am sure after a few dozen wine/ food stations, laying down and taking a DNF (maybe next to the ice cream station?) sounds like a great idea.
I'm in.1 -

@shanaber I have a North Face "Better Than Naked" running hat which does just what you want. The bill of that hat has a narrow piece of firm foam-like material which run along your forehead. It wicks the sweat away from your brow. The sweat then travels down the rest of the bill and drips off the edge. It works so well that I have to be careful when using my phone because the sweat drips off the bill and onto my phone. In this photo the light blue part of the bill is the wicking portion. I love this hat. I sweat profusely this has solved my problems. It also comes in a visor.
@juliet3455 that looks like some sloppy trail for sure, good for character building! Thanks for the link to the video, I'll watch it as soon as I get the chance.
@apricotqueen1 nice job killin' that goal!!
@RuNaRoUnDaFiEld welcome back! Hope your recovery is going well.6
