It might have been something I posted about Wineglass. My in-laws have been begging me for a couple of years to run it (they are from Corning), so that plus net downhill was encouraging for my first full!
It might have been me too. It’s going to be my first full as well. I’ve heard good things about the race and the scenery, and of course the elevation chart.

I'm running a 5k this Thursday, so I don't want to injure it by running more early this week. I haven't actually run since last Wednesday, so I don't think that it's from running. What do you all think?
That sounds a lot like the first stages of my Baker's cyst. Yours could be something completely different, but on the chance that it might be the same thing, if I were you I would get it looked at soon. I'm out for at least two months and would have been okay if I had gotten it seen to.
That was actually one of the things that came up when I googled my symptoms. What are they doing for treatment?
Well, mine ruptured, which you definitely do not want to happen. But for a regular unruptured cyst they recommend ice, compression, and figuring out what is making the knee irritated in the first place. The cyst on the back of the knee is just a symptom, the overproduction of synovial fluid from knee irritation is the cause.
In related news I saw the new ortho today, who is a sports medicine guy in charge of the local basketball team, and he says there's no reason I shouldn't be able to run on my knee in future, and that the doctor who said I should give up running was overreacting. Obviously I can't run right now with a leg full of fluid but he's hopeful, and thinks we may be able to avoid surgery with the right PT. Scheduled for more tests and then we will know more about what to do next.7 -
So close to making my goal. Had I known I would have pushed myself to keep going. Still +75 for my yearly goal so I’m not beating myself up too much. On to May

Hang in there @rheddmobile ! We've got our fingers crossed, and hopes up that you'll make a full recovery quickly.1

No run last night so I finished just a bit over my goal. 152 out of 150 miles. My first made goal in over a year!7

Looks like we'll have a crowd from MFP at Wineglass: @Duck_Puddle @marisap2010 @MobyCarp @dewd2 and I don't know who else.5 -

Yesterday was a scheduled rest day so I did not run, but I did manage to feel like I got in some good exercise. In addition to the two long walks with the pup and a lunch time walk, I took a little walk after work to the top of the Indian mound that is across from my work. There used to be a fence around the top of the mound and they recently removed it, which created some terrific views of the surrounding Miami Valley. There are 119 steps to the top and the sign at the base of the mound says that it is 68 ft high. I tried to record the climb on my Garmin to see if it agreed, but oddly it did not register any elevation gain. Anyway, I took some photos of the view. I don't think the pictures quite capture it though.
When I got home I did lots of freestyle strength training (squats, lunges, box jumps on the fire pit, planks, calf raises, etc. while playing fetch with the dog). Then my husband and I cleaned the ground cover off the garden (lots of squats!) Plenty of ways to make the most of your taper!8 -
What great places to have to workout!0

Should we do a MFP group photo at the expo?4 -

If we can find each other, that would be cool.4 -
Finally achieved my monthly goal after failing the last 3 months.
4/12.....8 miles
4/15...5 miles
4/17...4.05 miles
4/21....7 miles
4/22....10.7 miles
4/28....12.3 miles
Total.....47.05 miles
Goal...40 miles. The good news is that the ache in my right hip finally subsided after I ran the 10.7 miles. I guess that I needed to run longer runs. I think that it was some inflammation but not sure.
Congrats to all who raced this month and/or met their goals.
