@kristinegift - I'm so sorry about your Pacer's group. Maybe you could re-organize the group around another locale so you could keep running together?

@shanaber That's the plan! The other running store in town (literally 2.5 blocks away from Pacers) does group runs the same night of the week, at the same time... but with demos and sponsors and pub runs, so it will likely end up being an upgrade!

Met my April goal today after running the Deer Run 10k. I ran this one last year in 1:11:26 and I was really trying to PR. Today's time was 1:03:05 and I won 3rd place in my age group!
My left foot has been bothering me so I went out and got new shoes and that seemed to really help today. I was wearing Saucony Guides and the mileage was only at 117 miles but it hurt every time I ran over 4 miles or so. I switched back to Brooks Ravenna 9s (I loved the 7s and hated the 8s) and no pain today so I hope that's the end of the issue.
Here goes my first attempt adding pictures :)

I would say you nailed adding the pictures AND the race! Well done! :)

I didn't run at all today :( as I have been trying to get rid of a sore throat for a few days. It started immediately after my bike ride on Tuesday, and when I ran on Thursday it seemed to get worse. So I might go crazy. But I did get some housework done, taking all of the beds apart, spraying everything down with the allergen-killer stuff and soaking the bedding in a similar solution, then we spent the rest of the day with friends at their vacation house and walked to the lake. My throat is killing me, but otherwise I feel fine. Hmm... what to try next, night seems to be the worst, so maybe it's the dry air or pollen. Or the typical taper-sickness. I'm going to have some tea and go to bed.

Best wishes to those racing tomorrow!

Way to go, @AlphaHowls ! So, you going to sign up to be a pacer for your next marathon?

Congrats, @Orphia ! You sure know how to fit a theme. I'd show up as a generic runner.

Thank you @girlinahat @PastorVincent @MobyCarp Hahaha, I love parkrun theme events. So much fun.
Yay, Moby, on completing all your goals.

@kgirlhart Thanks. Hope your shoes arrive ASAP.

@katharmonic Thanks! So nice you ran with nice weather and good friends.

Sadly, I did not break an hour on my 10k, but I did win my age group and PR, so I’m happy with that!

@marisap2010 Woo hoo, PB, and great result nonetheless!!!

Bravo, @AlphaHowls !!! Lovely result and pacing on your marathon! I'd be SO happy with that time!

@polskagirl01 Taper magnifies any illness, doesn't it, dammit?!

@Scott6255 Thank you, and bravo on running 100+ for 2 months in a row.

@juliet3455 Wow, tough trail! Love how on Strava you said it was fun.

@BruinsGal_91 Yippee, parkrun PB!! Great work. Yes, I love meeting parkrun tourists too, and have made a few friends that way.

Wow! I am so behind on this thread. I'm sure there's a lot of race reports to catch up on.

My first 5k (in awhile) is this Thursday. It's an evening race. Should I have a strategy for running this week? My plan was to do a long run today (probably 4 miles) and maybe a shorter run on Tuesday or Wednesday. What do the veteran runners think? I'm hoping for sub 10 min/mile splits. We'll see.

Also, my birthday is coming up soon, and I'm going to buy a fitness watch. What do you all suggest? I'm not sure I'm sold on a running watch, as I like to do other fitness activities, including swimming (so I'm looking for waterproof). I also don't want to spend an arm and a leg, so I'm looking for something under $200. I'm leaning towards the Samsung gear fit 2 pro.
