I started this challenge at round 27, at 227.8. I ended round 38 at 194. That is a 33 pound loss! I love this challenge! It goes against everything I USED to believe about weighing in daily, and has taught me to really listen to my body, not get discouraged by small set backs, and to celebrate the small victories!
I agree! I have so much to lose that it was easy to get discouraged. Now I celebrate ANY loss, even just two-tenths of a pound. Plus I realize now that weight loss is not linear!8 -

Couldn’t agree with you both more! During my first round (Round 34), I wasn’t sure this was for me. It made me so focused on the scale, but then I realized that by seeing everyone’s experience, I was able to obtain many insights — and I have found it to be quite motivating.
Insight #1: any especially high surplus or deficit of calories shows up 3 days later for me (& I often see that for others too.)
Insight #2: For as many times as I though the scale should’ve gone down and it didn’t, there have been equal number of times when I didn’t think it should go down, and it did. This makes each up and down a less crucial piece of info. I concentrate on trends: weekly & monthly.
Insight #3: 200-300 daily calorie deficits under calories burned add up to pounds lost!! I remember this when I’m tempted to eat just a little more. It’s not a race!
Insight #4: as everyone says in here, consistency is the key & this daily challenge trains us in that habit!!12 -

I couldn't agree more, I have always been a daily weigher but I followed what I saw others do on the challenge, and kept my 10 day rolling averages. Those helped me have a sense of progress in spite of the normal, daily ups and downs.6 -
