Just returned from visiting my Mother. We had a wonderful visit (stressful at times for both of us). She is 88 with short term memory loss dementia. We talked about the same 5 things every 20 minutes. Now back to my normal.

Thank you. Sadly her sister passed away the day after I came home. (84) They were very close.

So I noticed that my cheapo scale was super inconsistent and didn't have the granularity I wanted, so I got a digital scale. Well, between that one and my old one, the numbers weren't lining up and I started to get bummed out. So I'm switching to metric measurements in hopes that will allow me to track progress without fixating on the pounds. Kilograms don't really have an emotional charge for me in the same way. I have guesstimated what the weights would have been on the new scale in kilograms based on what they were on the old scale in pounds. So the starting numbers aren't perfect, but I think they are reasonably in the ballpark.
5'1" 51y/o (52 nearly...is there a metric measurement for age that will make me 30 again?)

So progress is being made. I'm choosing the slow and steady route, but if I continue losing at this rate, I should easily make the July goal weight. I've been more consistent about going to the gym and have upped the intensity of my workouts so I can indulge a bit more. I've been tracking food religiously and have increased my water.5 -
@tammierlewis oh gosh that’s so sad could you make her something out of her clothing like a pillow or something like out of one of her favourite tops do you know what I mean it basically a pillow case it might just mean she’s got a piece of her she can hug0

@Insanitybride2b That's a good idea. Thank you. Yesterday she didn't remember her sister had passed just the day before. Dementia is horrible.2

So sorry to hear this. My grandmother also has dementia (she lives with my parents) and it is quite sad. We are getting the entire family together to celebrate her 90th birthday next weekend so that should be nice.
I forgot to post weight yesterday.

Hi guys!
My name is Claire and I am a 20 year old university student.
Height: 5'1.5
Current weight ~125lbs
Goal weight: 117-120lbs
I do intense exercise about 3 times a week and walk at least 10k steps every day to stay generally active, and do lots of standing when studying etc.
My major problem is nutrition. I love to eat healthy, whole foods, and really dislike sugar and grains. I used to be more active than I am now, but really it was my good nutrition that kept me in stellar shape.
However this past year I developed binge eating disorder. Whenever I feel lonely or stressed, I turn to food- not just a pint of ice-cream or something, but usually I will eat 1-2 pounds of peanut butter and 2 pounds of bananas in a sitting. About 4-6000 calories at a time, about 6-8000 calories a day. Several days a week.
Its obviously super shameful and confusing. Some people in uni turn to drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism, but I have found my drug to be food. It gives the same "hit" of comfort, pleasure, etc, and the same shame, guilt, and negative consequences after. But unlike the others, binging also results in lots of weight gain.
I always track what I'm eating, so I'm hoping that being on here can give me a community to help me resist turning to my binging "drug"- it can hold me accountable, and maybe I can reach out and post when I'm feeling lonely or stressed instead of binging.
IDK if this will help, but I appreciate any sort of community and support!4 -

A little late to the challenge but I'll just remove the dates that have passed already.
I'm Rae! I'm almost 5'2", close enough. Struggling to lose the last bit of weight because sweets and junk food happen.

This switch to the metric system is really helping my attitude! And the increased granularity of the digital scale allows me to track small losses.

I've upped my exercise and increased water intake. The latter is a little rough because I'm a teacher and can't just use the restroom whenever I want.1 -
