I just looked around in my kitchen and realized I have all sorts of "junk food" at home that I eat in moderate portions and log faithfully, and most importantly, am not bingeing on.
When I first started losing weight I basically had to get rid of all sweet treats and cookies that I liked because I couldn't eat them in moderation. Now almost 2 years into maintaining a 50lb loss I've slowly started keeping more of them in the house and have not had issues moderating them.
For example, my husband brought home a Ritter chocolate. In the past I would have eaten the whole thing in one sitting, but now it's been in the fridge for a week because I'm eating one square a day in the evenings.
NSV y'all!52 -
Feeling slow today because I didn't run yesterday. Putting my shoes on early today.9

Yesterday at work I noticed my lanyard kept bouncing around as I walked, it took a moment to realise it was because the under boob roll of flab is reducing and it has less to nestle against.
Also at work I took the stairs and was not out of breath, I went back up them later just to double check I'd not deceived myself, all the cardio paying off!35 -

The NSV? It was only meant to be a four mile hike, but I felt so good at the halfway point that I decided to descend along the ‘wrong’ ridge and cross the valley lower down. Because clearly I needed more uphills in my life.
Glad to learn that I am not the only person who does this. Decided to change the route last week. A 6 mile hike turned into almost 8 miles with an additional hill climb to get back to the starting point. Yay for change!
And those uphills always look so gentle when you're looking at the map, or down from the highest point of your route. And then you actually get to them, and start questioning your life choices
(But they feel so GOOD when you get to the top...)14 -

Oh too funny! High 5 on the great work you have been doing. These victories make it so much easier to keep plugging away.6 -

Funny, I've done the same thing last Sunday - 5.5 mile hike turned into 7.8 miles, due to a detour to look at a nearby waterfall...13 -
Non scale victory: I couldn't sleep last night. I normally sleep fine, but every few weeks I have a night where I can only manage to get about two hours of sleep if I'm lucky. On those nights I usually stuff my face - cause I'm so unhappy, and so bored, all I can do is eat.
Last night, I didn't stuff my face. I didn't go over my calorie limit. What normally would have led to a "food doesn't count between the hours of midnight and 6AM" binge just led to me eating a half a muffin to keep my stomach from growling and that's it.
The best part? It led to a scale victory! Weighed myself this morning, and I'm under 140 for the first time in years. If I'd binged like the old me would have, I would probably have gained a few pounds of fluff in just one night.29 -

Today I went on the longest walk I've gone on since my surgery nearly 2 months ago.36

Today I got back into wheel pose in yoga. I recently reestablished my yoga practice and it’s been a struggle, not least because I’m still 20kg heavier than when I left my practice a couple of years ago. I stared back in late February and this week is the first time I’ve gotten all the way up for 5 breaths, 2 Days in a row too!!17

I'm on my last belt hole! Time to buy a smaller belt!18

Bought a pair of size 10 shorts yesterday. Hoping to be in an 8 by fall. Maybe a size 6 when I am finished losing and start maintaining.19

Woke up at 5:40 for the third day in a row to run. Run cut short thanks to getting bitten by a dog (again! I got bitten last June on a morning run, though in a different state). Police report and waiting forever to see dr to get abx shot my morning. Waiting 2 HRs at the dr with 4 kids under 8 was worse than the bite, I think.
Nsv is that I have my alarm set for tomorrow and I just finished lifting. Take that, stupid poodle! You’re quarantined for 10 days and the road is mine!
(Seriously, a poodle?!? I mean, when I got chased and bitten by a pit bull and a Rottweiler, that was terrifying but at least made a good survival story. Not so much a little white poodle being walked by a little old lady )27 -

I got bitten in the upper arm by a doberman puppy. Thank God she was a puppy because she was going for my neck but wasn't tall enough to reach it when she reared up on her hind legs to bite me. Oblivious owner talking on her phone, wasn't even aware I was on the path until her stupid dog bit me, and I made a point to give them a wide berth since you can't trust a dog you don't know. The dog was leashed but that does no good unless you use it to control the dog. If I can hold back my Huskies who pull like the sled dogs they are and just want to lick you to death, then that fool should've been able to control a Dobie puppy. Glad you're okay.
My NSV today is that I have been sitting all day next to a box from Dunkin Donuts that someone brought in for Nurses' Week and haven't touched them.

Yesterday I had the day off (yay, government job on Primary Election Day!) and I decided to clean out my dresser drawers and closet. I tried on all of my jeans, my shorts, and some shirts. Put 10 pairs of jeans and all but three pairs of shorts, as well as 5 or 6 shirts, in a goodwill donation bag. Some of the jeans, which were tight at the beginning of this year, were hilariously too big (I was a human Subway commercial, basically). It felt so good to get rid of things that I can’t wear anymore, and my dresser is closing much better now! I just wish I hadn’t spent over $100 on a suit when I only wore it twice...19

I have a couple today. First went out with a friend for lunch. I wasn't super hungry, but I tend to overorder. Got a hot dog and a half order of French toast. Well I didn't even like the toast that much. So I didn't finish it. Would have on another day just because it was there.
Second I had some calories left for ice cream tonight (probably thanks to not eating the toast!). Wanted more after I finished my serving...but I didn't eat more.21 -
