What's Your Most Recent NSV

was able to borrow clothes from a friend who has always been considerably thinner than me. The trousers were a size smaller than what I tend to wear now, and fit like a dream!26

Last week I had a long work week on business travel coupled with high stress appointments, which also prevented a solid gym workout for 3 days with no hotel gym, 10hours trapped in rental cars, etc. Logged everything and was disappointed with being "over" on MFP goals for several days in a row with no exercise to offset, but kept logging & didn't hide from reality.
So my NSV is that in the past a couple "bad days" would spill into a couple more days, but upon returning home I had the mental fortitude to say "no, that's the exception to my new normal". Went to the store, bought the fruit, veggies and better protein sources to rebuild my "meal prep" reserves in the fridge and hit the gym 3 days in a row to help make up for the bobble. Grilled the salmon, steamed the broccoli & cauliflower, added the no salt black beans into the mix, etc.
kitten happens... accept it, get over it and step back over to the path you want to be on36 -
Blood pressure is lower now on a half-dose than it was 4 months ago on a full-dose.32

I've been needing some NSVs lately, and this weekend I found one. I got my feet measured for new running shoes and I didn't need a WIDE shoe. Just regular feet now. Not wide ones!39

Went out for ice cream last night, had the calories in my "budget" to drive there & get 2 scoops. Instead, we walked there 2 miles and took a longer route about 3 miles home. Saw beavers, rabbits frolicking, a giant turtle, and more. Oh, and enjoyed my 2 scoops!
Also loving the way my new jeans fit. Tried on the 10s around Christmas and the fit was a little weird, saggy in areas & snug in others, yuck. Went back last week and the same pair in 8 were on sale (I usually wear 10-12 but they're Michael Kors so vanity sizing). Still an NSV because they fit perfectly with no real weight difference, maybe 2 lb.39 -
Went biking on Sunday. Went running for the first time in a couple months on Monday. Here it is Tuesday, and hurrah! My juror number didn't get called for jury duty today, so I called a friend and we went on a three hour hike to a gorgeous lake overlook. We climbed 1,000 elevation to get there. Hurrah!31

Last weekend we took a vacation and went to visit our daughter at college. Eating out every meal was a chore. I went over a little on my meal plan each day. Not to worry, I just jumped right back on track when I got home. For the first time, I didn't feel like I was embarrassing her. I even took a lot of selfies. Now that's surprising.

2 people in the last couple of days whom I don't know very well asked me if I had lost weight. It is weird. I love getting compliments from my friends and family, but from people I don't know well is somehow the best compliment ever!! I think it may be confirmation that yes indeed it is now noticeable.27

I was entering the grocery store and, out of habit, I stepped aside to make room for another lady who was exiting. She laughed and said "We'll both fit". It was a good reminder that I'm not as large as I once was. Really took me by surprise.29

I know it’s not strictly an NSV... but yesterday I officially hit the healthy weight range according to my BMI. I am sooo pumped that I had to share!!! I’m especially proud as my weight has been bouncing around the same couple of kilos for a good month (tantalisingly close to healthy BMI too) and instead of getting bogged down, I’ve been visiting this thread for motivation and staying on track. Cheers to everyone that has shared their NSVs here.
Another proper NSV to add: went out for dinner and saw my godmother for the first time in three months. She walked in and said “wow, you’re looking skinny in that outfit”. It felt pretty good to say “it’s not the outfit, it’s ME!!”40 -
I had someone tell me last weekend that I look so much younger, Very nice feeling.23

I very much identify with this. One of my goals is to clean those damn lower cabinets out! Oh, and more pleasantly to comfortably get on the floor to play with my grandchildren. Keep up your great work!20 -

This is awesome from a weight loss standpoint but a struggle when I think about the cost of new clothes!!
Find yourself a great consignment shop and hit the Good Will store. If you like me have several sizes to lose they are your friend. I have even accumulated nice things that don't fit yet in preparation for a future need.
Keep up your great work!13 -
Had to fly recently and was assigned a window seat. Passenger s were already seated in the aisle and middle rows. waiting for them to let me into my seat the lady in the middle simply raised her feet into her seat and said "Oh good! A tiny person" I have not been called tiny since I was 6!37

Oh I love this! Good for you.7 -
Last night it was raining hard for sailboat racing. I have these excellent musto foul weather sailpettes. As a put them on for the first time since early last year I realized they are too big and needed another crew member to help me cinch in the waist straps. If they were not 500 dollar lifetime item I would say I needed new ones.14

The trousers I wear to work were still wet from last night’s laundry. I didn’t want to wear my jeans as they are too big to be tidy so I was a little concerned.
I grabbed the next pair in my wardrobe and they fit like a dream! I mean I should have guessed, given that my size 54 work trousers are now relying on the third notch on the belt, but these are size 50 jeans and are not straining anywhere!33 -
I nanny a boy on the spectrum who LOVES to swim so I'm in my bathing suit a lot while working. Yesterday after getting out if the pool, the mom of the boy pulled me aside to ask if I'd lost weight! I've lost 30 pounds since January and shes the first person to notice my weight loss who I haven't mentioned my goals too.32

The scale stopped a couple months ago but if you look at that profile picture the life change has not. In a year and a half I will be 40 and I don't know that I have ever felt better!21

Last night I gave in to a snack attack of veggie straws & leftover Easter candy, after I completed my diary on MFP. This morning, time to face reality: I edited my diary for my snacks. Very unpretty & now it's out there, but I did it.
Today is Administrative Professionals Day (really?) and there was cake in the office. I did not eat cake!31 -
Went and bought a pair of slacks and a couple of golf shirts for work (to replace some of the 3XL shirts and size 44 or 46 pants that I used to fit in to). Found some XL shirts and size 38 pants. They were loose! I couldn't believe it. Finally bought 2 size Large golf shirts and a pair of 36 waist slacks. I haven't worn a 36 waist since I was a college athlete 16 years ago.29

I run as well but I've never "accidently" run 3 miles - I think I'd notice after 20 minutes or so! Great job on the run and the breaking the 10 minute mark!12 -
I made it the top of the hill without stopping. I may have slowed down a bit, but I didn't stop AND I wasn't panting at the top.24

When I went to the ortho for knee drainage, I needed someone to drive me home after, so my mom took me. She offered me fattening and non-diabetic friendly food three times before and twice after! Her instinct is to try to offer me comfort food, since that is what she would do herself in the same situation. So she asked if I wanted a large fries from Wendy's, to go out and eat, to go out and eat at a different (American food, almost impossible to eat non fattening food there) restaurant, and if I wanted to go out for ice cream. Yes, ma, the diabetic who just got a steroid shot and as a result already has a bg of 128 fasting wants 120g of sugar!
Anyway my first NSV is that I turned her down flat every time, went home, had some Halo Top and went to bed, and my second NSV is that I think I managed to keep from sounding exasperated.47 -

Oh, that last bit in particular is impressive!!11 -

I don't normally give hugs to posts on here, lest someone think it's pervy, but dealing with family in that situation and handling it as you did deserves a hug.18 -
I was able to shop in the 'Misses" department rather then the "Women's Plus" today.37
